So I decided Keldeo + Vest Tyranitar is a good core because Tyranitar traps Lati@s and clears stuff for Keldeo to spam Hydro Pump and clean up. The rest of the team is basically just to deal with the counters to that strategy. One of the more offensive teams I've used but one of the best so far.
Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Hidden Power [Flying]
What the team is based off. Fantastically powerful late game cleaner and its counters are easily dealt with by the rest of the team. HP Flying is just in case I need to kill an worn down Mega Venusaur (one of the team's main counters). I generally need to predict the switch for that, but everyone switches Venusaur into this.
Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
Fantastic partner to Keldeo since it traps Lati@s so Keldeo can freely clean up. Generally amazing Special wall. Vest to take hits like an absolute boss and I don't need status moves anyway since rocks is on the next Pokemon. The EV spread is to maximise its defensive capabilities so it can switch in on a Draco Meteor or Surf at fairly low HP and still successfully trap and Pursuit will still KO.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 176 Atk / 80 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
This is generally what I lead with. Its a fairly standard lead and it also deals with stuff like Scizor and Aegislash, the latter of which can cause Keldeo some annoyance depending on the set and stuff. Toxic is pretty random and is more like an Ubers set but I didn't really know what else to put on it. Skarmory switches are pretty annoying so is there something to deal with that? Unsure on the EVs on this thing but generally that 80 SDef has helped a lot, making it able to survive most HP Ice and even a Hydro Pump from Rotom-W I think.
Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 208 Spd / 252 Atk / 48 HP
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Tailwind
Talonflame is just used as a way to get rid of bulky Grass-Types that give Keldeo a hard time, most importantly Venusaur. He doesn't last long generally so I didn't want to go for the Swords Dance set and U-Turn is useful to switch Tyranitar in on Lati@s at the right time. Band to maximise damage. Again, unsure on the EV spread and I'm tempted to put more speed on him.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Roost
- Defog
Scizor is just for a generally bulky and powerful dude with good synergy with the rest of the team, particularly Talonflame. Defog is pretty necessary and Scizor was the best Defog user for this team. It forms a little U-Turn core with Talonflame as well. EVs are so it takes hits but also deals out major damage. No point putting Speed on him. I'm tempted to put Defence EVs on but not sure.
Alakazam @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Shadow Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
- Encore
Zam is probably the most unusual choice for the team. Since the team basically builds itself for the first 5 mons, the 6th one was a difficult choice. I switched from Gengar to Rotom-W to this and this has probably served me best so far. It can be used as an alternative cleaner if Keldeo somehow dies, though I'm generally very careful about when I switch into Keldeo. It is also a Special Attacker that can deal with Mega Venusaur as well as Chansey/Blissey. Also, bad players Shadow Sneak this with Aegislash and let their Aegislash get KOd with Shadow Ball.HP Ice is pretty random but I needed some sort of coverage on my team.
