KILL IT WITH FIRE!- A SSRaditz94 & ArtemisThePokeGod Collaboration

KILL IT WITH FIRE!!!!!

Wow, This is my 2nd RMT in 2 days. Anyways what is going on Smogon? SSRaditz94 coming at you with another RMT. This time it we have a Collaboration between myself and everybody's favorite pervert- ArtemisThePokeGod. we were in Xat at 3AM bored out of our skulls when we just said "Fuck it, lets make a team" and this is what we came up with. I'm not to fond of weather nor is Arty, but we decided to give it a try. we made an odd sun team that we would love critiqued ^_^. anyway lets jump into the Building process.

THIS TEAM DOES NOT USE ENTRY HAZARDS AND WE DON'T PLAN TO USE THEM IN THE FUTURE SO DON'T SUGGEST THEM BCUZ I WILL IGNORE IT

TEAMBUILDING PROCESS

Me and arty decided that a FWG (Fire/Water/Grass) core would be really nice and help the team cover its weaknesses. so lets introduce the team

038.gif

The 'F' in FWG would obviously be Ninetails. We obviously need to set up the sun and no other poke can do that. Also, Ninetails has great specail bulk which is just icing o the cake

038.gif
423.gif

The 'W' in FWG was a hard choice but we decided to go with a Physically defensive Gastrodon. he can help deal with many rain threats like Thundurus-T and Politoed, while also being able to spread around Toxic.

038.gif
423.gif
003f.gif

The 'G' in FWG. Physically Offensive Venasaur can feed off of the sun and sweep with its mixed Growth set. It was really obviously the best choice as far as grass pokes go (except maybe Sawsbuck.)it can smash a whole bunch of things such as Jirachi, Terrakion, and even Ttar.

038.gif

This was Arty's idea. Latias can wall the hell out of everything (Bar specs Hydreigon/Specs Latios) and has really decent coverage with Dragon pulse and HP fire, which allows it to hit all pokemon in existence. Arty knows what he's doing Ladys and Gents.

Mamoswine is a monster. He is the answer to the numerous Dragons and Therians in OU. Using him in the sun may seem to be Strange but the results do not lie. it's a force not to be overlooked.

I realized at this point we still didn't have a fire type to abuse the sun. We reached down into UU and drafted a top tier threat in Darmanitan. Scarf Darmanitan does just as much destruction in OU as it does in UU, and the sun to boost Flare Blitz? that's just not fair.

THE TEAM

Chibi_Ninetales___Vulpix_by_GogetaJr.jpg

Mozilla (Ninetales) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Roar]

We start off with Ninetails. Her role is to, of course set up the sun. i'm really not too inclined to explain its roll as most of you already know it at this point.Fire Blast is for STAB,Will-O is to pass burns around. Pain Split is used as a form of recovery which is nice to have on a weather inducer. and roar is to stop set up sweepers.

uumetagame_venusaur.jpg

Penis-Sore (Venusaur) (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Seed Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Growth
- Earthquake

My Chlorophyll abuser. I had this physical set in mind when we layed out the FWG core. Basically come in to scare an opponent out, set up a growth and sweep/clean out the opponents team. I run Hasty nature so that i don't have to sacrifice power in HP Fire, and i don't mind taking out some Defense because its not bulky to begin with.

Gastrodon_is_Happy_by_IcyFox44.jpg

Fidel Gastro (Gastrodon) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Recover
- Toxic

EHRMERGERD! Gastrodon on a sun team! Yeah, our primary rain sponge comes in the form of everybodys favorite Sea Slug. Gastrodon sports only one major weakness:Grass which is makes him a good wall in general. he can stop all rain teams in their tracks as well as many other weatherless teams that use water types thanks to storm drain. its a standard bulky toxic stall set with 2 coverage moves.

latias.jpg

Lati-nas (Latias) (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Hardy Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

Latias. Artemis's Idea, which i have had troubles with in the past. Bulky Latias can take hits from lots of things, including Scizor (of course, not gonna let Scizor touch this thing) the HP fire/Dragon pulse has perfect coverage hitting everything for neutral/ Super effective damge. Calm Mind/ Recover ensures its survival and damage dealing potential.

Dat Fuzz (Mamoswine) (F) @ Choice Band
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Superpower

I think the picture fits the team theme nicely. This is our REAL answer to Dragons/Therians. CB Mamoswine can smash alot of things with Priority STAB Ice Shard. This is a great way to stop Therian-Using Rain teams which makes it a poke that we want to keep alive against rival weathers. also we run icicle spear when we need more power. and EQ/Superpower helps get rid of TTar users which adds functionality as a Rain/Sand stopper.

368ght.jpg

Ape Shit (Darmanitan) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- Rock Slide
- U-turn[/CENTER]

With the 6th pick in the 2012 OU sun team draft, These 2 guys select Darmanitan, UU Smogon University. We decided to use ScarfDarm as our primary fire-type sun abuser. He has excellent coverage and all the UU players know how much damage Hihidaruma can inflict. And now his strong ass Flare Blitz gets even stronger with the sun, which is just overkill.

CONCLUSION AND THANK YOUS

That's the team in a nutshell. if you have any suggestions please feel free to leave them down below and i will get to them ASAP.I want to thank everybody who had rated my last team (http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3471320), hopefully i will get more rates for this one ^_^. I of course want to thank my sexy partner in crime- ArtemisThePokeGodFor the advice and Pictures. Without him this would never have been possible. Thank you to those reading this and those who leave suggestions below/Luvdisc this.

Adios ^_^

OFFENSIVE THREATS

Blue=Laughable
Green=Easy To Deal With
Yellow=Moderate
Orange=Tough to Kill
Red=HUGE THREAT

Tyranitar: Mamoswine can OHKO it with Superpower and Venaur/Darmanitan can threaten it out
Rotom-W: If Venasaur sets up the Growth then it can OHKO with Seed Bomb, however the Trick variants can be annoying especially if they trick me Choice Specs. Gastrodon can also inflict toxic to whittle down its HP
Scizor: Ninetails,Darmanitan, and Venasaur.....take your pick
Dragonite: If I can break multiscale i have no problems OHKO'ing it with Mamoswine's Ice Shard
Politoed: Politoad can be threatened out by Venasaurs Seed bomb, or be Toxic'd by Gastrodon to cut down its survivability
Heatran: As long as the balloon is pooped, Darmanitan or Venasaur can 1-shot it with EQ
Jirachi: Jirachi can be tricky to deal with, especially on rain teams. i have to try and win the weather before i can take this thing out. on non rain teams any fire move will stop this thing.
Latios: This thing is not so easy to deal with but could also help me. if its a Specs/Scarf set i have to fodder something like Gastrodon to take any hit, switch into Latias and use Latios as set up fodder so i can maybe CM sweep
Reuniclus: Haven't faced one yet but i think if i can use Darmanitan to U-turn out into Latias i can set up on it.
Haxorus: I can burn it with Ninetails and once it gets whittled down a bit, i can revenge kill with Mamoswines Ice Shard
Ninetales: Venasaur,Darmanitan, and Mamoswine can deal with it
Conkeldurr: Have not played one yet but i can see this thing being somewhat of a threat. If he sets up even 1 Bulk Up i may be in for a rough time, so i may have to find a way to stop it
Celebi: Darmanitan can Ohko it with 4X effective U-Turn .
Terrakion: Venasuar can kill it with EQ or Seed Bomb,Darmanitan can OHKO it with EQ, and Gastro can wall it pretty nicely.
Gyarados: Darmanitan's Rock Slide should be an OHKO
Gengar: It can be tricky but managable. I can Roar out the obvious 1st turn sub with Ninetails, and i can hit it hard with Mamoswine or Darmanitan
Landorus: 4X Ice Shard sooooooo Yeah.......
Infernape: Venasaur or Darmanitans EQ can deal with the monkey
Volcarona: Easily stoppable with Rock slide.and its really nice that i can out speed a +1 Quiver Dance thanks to the scarf
Magnezone: All 6 of my pokes can hit this thing......That's kinda sad
Espeon: Darms U-Turn and Latias deal with it
Salamence: 4X Ice Shard once again wrecks face
Hydreigon: Hmmmmm its an intersting thing to play around. i like to U-Turn with Darm, Fodder off a poke, and Ice Shard.
Breloom: Latias does a nice job walling it, and Darm/Vena can kill it with their Fire moves
Latias: Back-To-Back Ice Shards stop Her as well as U-Turn
Toxicroak: 2 Letters: E Q
Lucario:Once again, my whole team can dispose of it.....Still sad
Virizion: Fire Moves can deal with it as well as Latias
Cloyster: Burn the Standard set with Will-O-Wisp or Just hit in the face with a move so i can bring it down to Ice Shard range
Mamoswine: Darmanitan and Gastrodon can stop this thing.
Tornadus: Best Strategy to beat him:KEEP THE SUN UP if i lose the weather war, I still have ice shard and scarf darm to do 2x Damage
Abomasnow: FIRE MOVES
Alakazam: Turn + Shard combo
Deoxys-D: Hmm, while hazards arent my teams friend, i can use Doxys-D as Growth fodder for a Vena-Sweep. U-Turn does solid damge, and gastro can Toxic to whittle down its HP
Dugtrio: No real strategy to beat it, you have to make due with the poke you currnetly have in which is bad if Venasaur or Ninetails are in. Proceed with caution
Kyurem: I only see it on hail teams, and usually they go don to a rock slide so that's an option that can be used
Victini: Spamming EQ is the only thing i can do against it apart from switching to Gastrodon
Stoutland: Once the sand is out of the way it wont be too bad, just hit it hard and fast i guess, honestly i havent played one yet so idk how to handle it properly.
Smeargle: not a big deal. it doesn't attack so it was never to be considered a threat

DEFENSIVE THREATS

Blue=Laughable
Green=Easy To Deal With
Yellow=Moderate
Orange=Tough to Kill
Red=HUGE THREAT

Ferrothorn: Any fire move
Politoed: Politoad can be threatened out by Venasaurs Seed bomb, or be Toxic'd by Gastrodon to cut down its survivability
Gliscor: Even with its massive Defense, Mamoswine can wreck him with Icicle Crash
Skarmory: Any fire move, but i need to get him down fast or hazards could screw me over
Celebi: Darmanitan can Ohko it with 4X effective U-Turn
Forretress: Any Fire Move
Gyarados: Darmanitan's Rock Slide should be an OHKO
Jellicent: I can 2HKO with Seed Bomb, other than that he can troll my team, but gastro can be used to Toxic it
Tentacruel: EQ, from either Darm or Venasaur will break this wall
Gastrodon: Seed Bomb is an OHKO
Espeon: Darms U-Turn and Latias deal with it
Blissey: Any Physical Move will murder this damn thing
Vaporeon: Can halt my team if i lose a weather war. need to find an answer to it
Latias: TurnShard
Bronzong: Any Fire Move (Even if Heatproof)
Swampert: Seed Bomb
Mew: it really depends on the set. mainly the good ol' TurnShard can do the trick
Slowbro: Toxic stall with Gastrodon or try and use it to set up with Latias
Cresselia: use its own strategy against it. if it wants to Calm mind sweep, get a toxic on it and switch to Latias and go back and forth with the Calm Mind setups
Hippowdon: only real way i can deal with it is Toxic stall with Gastrodon. if that does not work, im basically fucked
Wobbuffet:No real strategy to beat it, you have to make due with the poke you currnetly have in.
Whimsicott: Any Fire move, Prankster isn't to bad since this team can hit it outright with a fire move
Tangrowth: Again, Fire Moves
Sableye: Dont let him burn Venasaur. other than that just hit him until he dies
Porygon2: Hit him hard until he dies, or Poison it
Chansey: Same as Blissey.

Really awesome sun team and i couldnt come up with a pokemon you had a problem but instead i would like you to look at my OU Sun team and tell me if i could do something about it and i have a CB arcanine and maybe i could replace it with the scarfdam you are running.
And again your team is really nice.

Gengar isnt a big threat to you simply because fire blast from ninetales should be able to get rid of its sub and you can roar next turn if its a disable set or if it tries to sub again gengar will be a fail as a lead against your team if you lead with ninetales and only decrease its own hp.I think fire blast in the sun can OHKO gengar at least overheat can so fireblast should do enough to bring it to the low yellow or red.
Conkeldurr can be dealth with your venusaur.CM latios should be watched out for on everyteam so thats not a new threat.
dugtrio is gona be hard to get around if you want your ninetales sticking around.

Dragonite will be a pain cuz you dont have SR or sand/hail.So watch out for that as 1 dd is good enough for a dragonite.
Cloyster after a shell smash will be a pain and will-o-wisp does miss so keep that in mind.

You don't have any defensive threats in my opinions you labels vaporeon and hippowdon which are easy to deal with venusaur and latias can set up on vaporeon w/o roar.

Hey man nice team, however I do see some threats to your team. First off, Dragon-types give you headaches, as you have no one to take a Dragon-type attack. Mamoswine can revenge them with Ice Shard, but it definitely cannot take a hit from one. You also lack Stealth Rock. Gengar, Latios, and Vaporeon also pose as problems. To help deal with these, I suggest using a SubCM Jirachi, possibly over Latias as they fill an identical role.

385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Special Attack / 252 Speed
Timid Nature
Moves:
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic

With Jirachi in the place of Latias, you have a Dragon-type resist and you are able to take down most of the threats you mentioned. Gengar does pretty bad damage to it, while Jirachi can proceed to Calm Mind up. Jirachi also helps against Vaporeon well. Jirachi can Calm Mind in it's face. It is immune to Toxic and resists Ice Beam and can proceed to Thunderbolt in the face. Psychic is used over Psyshock and Flash Cannon as it hits Conkeldurr harder. Psyshock isn't even needed for Blissey since you have 3 physical attackers. Under a Substitute at +1, Jirachi is also able to deal with Hippowdon quite well. Max Speed EVs with a Timid nature allows Jirachi to not be revenge killed by base 100s as well, which can be crucial at times. Another thing I find really helpful to your team is Stealth Rock. You have a lot of offensive force and they would really appreciate the extra hazard damage. This especially helps in breaking Dragonite's Multiscale. I suggest changing your Mamoswine into a Life Orb variant with Stealth Rock. Overall, Jirachi helps you doom opposing teams if they are not prepared.

478.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
Adamant Nature
Moves:
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash / Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Without a Choice Band, you do lose some power, but you are able to set Stealth Rock up while still being able to revenge Dragon-types. The loss in damage isn't too bad either as you are still able to OHKO Salamence and Dragonite with rocks up. As well, priority Ice Shard still remains a powerhouse move. With Life Orb, you are also free to switch moves, still making Mamoswine a devastating physical attacker. Hope I helped and good luck.

Well, this team looks decent at first glance.

The first things I see when I look at this team are no steel type, no entry hazards, and no pokemon with sunny day to screw up other weathers and make it easier to win the weather war. I would suggest replacing Darmanitan with heatran. If you are worried about the loss of a revenge killer, you still have choice band ice shard from mamoswine. Heatran provides a resist to latios, a valuable asset to your team. You can kill three birds with one stone with the following set.

485.png

Heatran @Air Balloon
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Atk | Modest | Flash Fire
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Magma Storm
- Solarbeam / Hidden Power Ice / Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Sunny Day

This is a sun support heatran set. Fire Blast gets outrageous power in the sun. Flamethrower can be used if you want more accuracy. Magma Storm can be used to trap other weather setters. Solarbeam can be used to hit politoed and tyranitar super effectively. Note that sun must be up for this to work well. You can use sunny day on a predicted switch to another weather setter if possible. Hidden Power Ice can be used to hit dragons and ground types super effectively. Earth Power can hit tyranitar and other Heatrans. Stealth Rock provides entry hazards and guarantees that mamoswine can ko many frail threats weak to ice beam. Sunny Day will help you win the weather war.

I would also suggest moving latias's Special Defense evs to defense. Latias can still take special hits well with calm mind and base 130 special defense. You could use that defense against terrakion, particularly the scarf sets, a threat which your team is slightly weak to under sun, and moderately weak to when you don't have sun up.

I would also suggest changing ninetales's item to shed shell. This ensures that ninetales won't get trapped by dugtrio, allowing you to win the weather war more easily.
