Hi, I am salamence1, welcome to my RMT. If you can't tell from the title I built this team while testing out kingdra as a anti-metta poke for weatherless teams to get an advantage. I started out on one of my testing accounts, I was testing out kingdra as well as Rocks on terrakion and rock polish terrakion. I quickly climbed the ladder reaching 1404 points by the end of the day. After that I sent the team to a few friends for them to test it as well, they peaked between 1432 and 1498. I started to ladder on my main account, and it peaked at 1506. This team has had some success, but I can't seem to perfect it so far every change I've tried has made it worse so that's why i'm here. I want to see if other people will be able to point out what I need to change to make it better.
Basic Stategy...
The Team...
Terrakion @ Air Balloon
Trait: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Quick Attack
Okay I admit when I first heard of this set I thought to myself, What kind of idiot would run stealth rocks on a power house like terrakion. Then I ran it, and fell in love with it, rocks always get up thanks to his natural bulk and with his great speed and attack he is in no way dead weight to my offence as well. I usually am able to remove Ninetail first turn of the game against sun teams because for some reason or another they think that since I have no weather Ninetails is better to die than something else taking damage I don't know why it just seems like that at times. Usually while playing sand I can scare away TTar and get up rocks up. The moves are pretty much self explanitory Dual Stab Hits just about anything for heavy damage, and quick attack used to be protected for scouting scizor, but I found at random times Latios would come in, take a hit and be at like 7% so I switched it to Quick Attack and found it more useful.
Kingdra (F) @ Life Orb
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Rain Dance
Arguably that MVP of my team kingdra has been amazing. I now fully realize why Drizzle+Swift Swim was banned. After a rain dance I become faster than any other poke in the entire game, and give myself a nice extra boost to Hydro Pump witch allows me to OHKO Some huge theats like Scizor, Jirachi (Barring SpD Rachi), and anything weak to it. Ice Beam OHKO's the 4x Weak pokes like Mence, Dnite, Landorus, and Gliscor as well as Thundorus-T and Tornadus-T after Rocks Damage. Lastly Draco Meteor is there to simply put a hole through anything that resist my other two moves as well as give me a move that can OHKO's the Lati Twins. On top of being a great sweep this also often screws over opponets hoping to abuse their weather Making the rest of my team much more effective.
Breloom (F) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 236 HP / 212 SDef / 60 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Spore
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Bullet Seed
Breloom...Bulk Up Breloom serves an important job, that is to wall break for Kingdra. Kingdra does not like Blissy, Ferrothorn, Jellicent, or anything bulky/Stally that he can't hit for super effective damage. That's were Breloom comes in, not only can he kill most of kingdra's counters he can set up all day on them. After getting to +2Atk +2Def he becomes a big threat, or if I just need him to come in to take a hit and chip away I find he can preform well at that as well. Basically Breloom is my answer to stall teams. The set is standard with the exception of running Bullet Seed over Seed Bomb this is just to be able to deal with Sub+Calm Mind Keldeo After he gets a sub up so far it has worked out, but I have been getting lucky with 4 hits everytime I've needed to. On average it hits 3 times so it still equals the power of Drain Punch, but there's aways the chance of hitting 4-5 times making it more powerfull then seed bomb when I'm lucky. With out Breloom my kingdra, and team for that matter, would be completely hopeless against stall.
Genesect @ Bug Gem
Trait: Download
EVs: 96 HP / 252 SAtk / 160 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Rock Polish
- Bug Buzz
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
You know how I said earlier how Kingdra was Arguably The MVP of the team? Well Genesect here is why it's not the clear MVP. First of all Download is an amazing ability if you send him in on the right pokemon his SpAtk shoots staight up to 558! on top of that he has one of the lagest move pools in the entire game! After a rock polish it's easy to sweep through what's left of a team. So since this isn't a standard Ev spread i'll explain why everything is that way it is. Obviously I want as much SpAtk as I can get so it's modest 252 SpAtk the speed ev's give me just enough speed to out speed Jolly Max speed breloom without a boost as well as out speed every after a Rock Polish. I invested the remaining 96 Ev's to HP to give it as much bulk as possible because he has a lot of natural bulk he is pretty easy to set up, and hard to revenge kill. I know what you're thinking when it comes to the item, it's probably something along the lines of "Noob! Try using a item that can be used more than once" or "You should use LO/EBelt" But I have bug gem on there for one important threat, Mixed TTar With LO and EBelt TTar is able to live a bug buzz even after to rock switch ins the proceed to OHKO me with Fire Blast. So I started running bug gem to help with that as well as get that extra damage off needed to KO Jirachi before he can Paralyze me. I can also bluff the choiced Item real well early in the match making it easy to come in and set up on a Gliscor/Landorus which are often lured out by Breloom/Terrakion. Genesect can easily sweep teams that aren't prepared for it.
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Atk / 56 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Scizor has always been one of the best in the game, and he always seems to make it on my teams one way or another. For this team in particular I'm using the CB Set as a revenge killer late game because of his extremly powerful Bullet Punch he usually preforms the job well. I also use him as a scout due to his super high attack he often forces switches this allows me to spam off CB STAB U-Turns early-mid game. Basically Standard Scizor with a little extra Speed Investment to out speed other scizor, other than that self explanitory everyone should know how CB Scizor works by now.
Latios (M) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Surf
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock
Latios has alway been a power house, and he seemed to fit in well with my team so I decided to use him. I Choose the EBelt set because I have noticed a rise in Choiced Latios and a huge drap in EBelt ones so naturally EBelt is more effective right now because it's less common. I often am able to Fire off a draco have a scizor come in to trap and remove me just to get a HP[Fire] to the face. This set helps remove Ferrothorn, Tentacruel, and amoonguss all of which can be troublesome to Kingdra and Genesect. Surf is there for heatran, gliscor, etc. lastly Draco Meteor is there for doing what Draco Meteor dooes best...SPAMING OFF HUGE HITS...Again not much to say just a wall breaker that gets the job done...
Weakness I've Noticed and want to fix, but don't know what to do...
Thanks for reading my RMT hope you leave some good advice! Also I hope this isn't too Sloppy I didn't have the time to proof read it and correct any incorrect grammer, spelling, etc. so if there is anything you notice feel free to point it out and i'll try to fix it.
Basic Stategy...
The main idea behind the team is to screw over weather teams with rain dance Kingdra. Sun teams that abuse the fire type boost and their precious Chlorophyll users become useless in the rain. On top of that Kingdra is able to hit most of them for Super Effective damage, or simply a neutral Rain Boosted STAB Hydro Pump that hits really hard. Sand teams often have a simular problem of being swept by the Super Effective coverage of Kindra. Rain teams give me easy Swift Swim Boost and offensive rain teams are almost always smashed by kingdra while more balaced to stall one are dealt with by Breloom.

Weakness I've Noticed and want to fix, but don't know what to do...
Well the first one is the fact I have three pokes that require a set-up move to be effective. Although when I can get them set up the team is nearly unstopable it's hard to get them all set-up. The second Problem is sun in general if I do not get off a rain dance Sun teams will walk all over me, mostly Venesaur and Volcarona both of these can sweep my entire team after setting up one turn. The third and final major problem is the lack of speed before setting up I have swift swim and rock polish, but both require a turn to set-up (this kinda goes back to having 3 set-up sweepers) I'm looking for a fix that can fix all of these problems with out opening another area.
Thanks for reading my RMT hope you leave some good advice! Also I hope this isn't too Sloppy I didn't have the time to proof read it and correct any incorrect grammer, spelling, etc. so if there is anything you notice feel free to point it out and i'll try to fix it.
