Kinglike OU: VoltTurn
This is my 2nd RMT, I think it's a lot better. It Peaked me at 1346 ELO so far and I'm having a really fun time using it. It's a VoltTurn team that's all about gaining momentum to kill on switch ins and matchups. Help a noob out and RMT
The Mons:
CrabshellCrusher (Scizor-Mega) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- U-turn
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
Great utility mon. It combines utility with hard hitting attack power and fairy coverage that my team didn't really need but why not. 3 fairy coverage mons isn't necessary but in a meta game with so many it's great to have coverage. Iron Head is great STAB with flinch chance, Defog for getting rid of hazards that destroy my team, Bullet Punch for priority and U Turn for bug coverage and more momentum.
Slurpee (Muk-Alola) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Poison Touch
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Poison Jab
- Toxic
- Curse
- Knock Off
All the bulky mons on this team have the option for heavy attacks and at +2 it can OHKO most fairy types that M Scizor can't kill and with Knock Off it takes away items and hits mons so hard if they have them. Curse is such a star moves because it turns Alolan Muks decent defense stat into a defensive wall for both SpA and AtK attacks.
Hot Koko (Tapu Koko) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Tapu Koko is the main offensive weapon in this team, you definitely don't want to underestimate a Specs 252 SpA STAB Volt Switch even at its low power. Great offensive pivot with great STABs. HP Ice destroys Lando-T on the switch in and other Ground types too.
Truck'D (Landorus-Therian) @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- U-turn
Choice band Lando T hits so hard. Knock Off for coverage and for general knocking off of items. Not much to say here, such a versatile mon that can be put in so many teams and have so many uses and it's a choice band u turner in this team.
Feel the Bern (Heatran) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Flash Cannon
- Lava Plume
- Will-O-Wisp
Total fairy Waller except for Tapu Fini, great fire coverage with Lava Plume and can take a potential WoW for Lando or M Scizor. SpA Earth Power is underrated but it does better than Earthquake when dealing with Toxapex and other physically defensive mons that are weak to ground.
Lillie :P (Greninja) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- U-turn
- Gunk Shot
- Waterfall
- Night Slash
Probably the star of the team, protean greninja for constant STAB. Scarf outspeeds the entire metagame except for Ash Greninja that's scarfed. Saves you in a ton of situations where you need to get off the first hit. STAB U-Turn will kill things like this:
252 Atk Protean Greninja U-turn vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Greninja: 254-302 (89.1 - 105.9%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
Hah yeah My out speed u turn has a 31.3% chance to OHKO your leadoff gren :P
