[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards
**Price Range**: 10-11 points
**Overview**: Kleavor is a solid mid tier Pokemon, most known for its Stone Exe and Sharpness combo, being able to deal great damage and get up Stealth rocks at the same time. However, its mid Speed stat, poor coverage moves and bad typing prevent it from being a prominent Pokemon in the meta.

Common Roles
========
**Setup Sweeper**: Kleavor can use Swords Dance to boost up and claim a few kills with strong sharpness boosted STAB attacks like Stone Exe or X-Scizor. However, its mid Speed stat and bad defensive typing means Kleavor can get revenged easily, and more often than not will require it to use Trailblaze to boost its Speed.
**Hazard Setter**: Kleavor can use its signature move Stone Exe, to attack and set up Stealth Rocks. It can either lead with a Focus Sash equipped for guaranteed Stealth Rocks, or try to set them up later in the battle.
Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Stone Exe, Stone Edge, X-Scizor,
**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze, Agility
**Utility Moves**: U-Turn, Substitute, Light screen, Scary Face
**coverage**: Close Combat, Aerial Ace, Night Slash, Dual Wingbeat, Double Edge
Niche Moves
========
**Defog**: Defog can be used in match ups where the opponent has a lot of hazard setters, and your team is lacking removal. however, Defog directly contradicts Stone Exe, removing your own hazards. Thus, it is mostly picked as a 4th move when Kleavor does not need any other moves and used in extreme situations.
**Brick Break**: Brick Break can be used instead of Close Combat in match ups where the opponent is likely to bring screens.
**Skitter Smack**: Skitter Smack can be used to 1v1 and kill certain special attackers, such as Ursaluna-Bloodmoon or Raging Bolt.
**Tailwind**: Tailwind can be used in conjunction with U-Turn to double the Speed of ur side of the field, then switch with U-Turn to a slow but powerful attacker like Great tusk.
**Rock Tomb**: Rock Tomb can be used on Sash lead sets, to get some damage and lower the opposing Pokemon speed to safely set Rocks after with Stone Exe.
**Thief**: Thief can be used on Sash lead sets, to steal a valuable item from the opposing Pokemon after Focus Sash has been activated.
Common Items
========
**Focus Sash**: One of the oldest combos in competitive Pokemon since gen 4 is Focus Sash lead + Stealth Rocks. Kleavor takes it a step ahead, getting Rocks up while doing great damage to the opposing Pokemon.
**Heavy Duty Boots**: Like any Stealth Rocks weak Pokemon, Kleavor greatly benefits from Heavy Duty Boots, being able to consistently get into the field to get up hazards or attack the opposing Pokemon.
**Choice Scarf**: to compensate for his mid Speed stat, Kleavor often uses Choice Scarf to outspeed and kill certain Pokemon like Roaring moon or Enamorus.
Niche Items
========
**Choice Band**: Kleavor can use Choice Band along with his high 135 attack stat to dish out amazing damage.
**Assault Vest**: Kleavor can use Assault Vest to switch in better on special attackers and attack them or get Stealth Rocks up via Stone Exe.
**Lum Berry**: Lum Berry can be used on Swords Dance sets to avoid Burns or Paralysis and sweep more easily.
**Clear Amulet**: Clear Amulet can be used on Swords dance sets to ignore Intimidate or Strength Sap and sweep more easily.
**Protective Pads**: Protective Pads can be used in match ups where the opponent has a Pokemon with contact Ability or move, like Rough Skin Garchomp, Burning Bulwark Gouging Fire or Baneful Bunker Toxapex.
Tera
========
Kleavor is a decent Tera user, being able to use the extra coverage like Tera Blast Ground to hit Steel types or Tera Blast Fairy to hit Fighting types, both typing resist both Kleavor’s STABS. it can even tera to the Ghost typing, spin blocking for the hazards it set up. Unfortunately, the opportunity cost is too high, and it's better off to tera other Pokemon that take advantage of Tera better.
Draft Strategy
========
Kleavor is never a Pokemon to build a team around, but it can be a fun addition to a team providing unique tools. It appreciates having teammates that can bring him in safely, as well as a ghost type to block spinners which will try to remove Kleavor’s Stealth Rocks. Additionally, its teammates appreciate its ability to set up rocks while weakening foes, giving the chip needed for certain kills.
**Slow Pivots**: Kleavor has bad defenses and a bad defensive typing, so having Pokemon that can safely bring him into the field like Slowking-Galar or Alomomola can greatly benefit Kleavor.
**Wallbreakers/Sweepers**: Wallbreakers appreciate Kleavors Stone exe, being able to pick up certain kos with Stealth Rocks up they couldn't without, for example Meowscarada.. in addition, sweepers appreciate Stealth Rocks being up, helping them sweep more easily, for example Raging Bolt.
**Entry Hazard Removal**: Kleavor appreciates hazard removal, letting it come more freely into the field and not use Heavy Duty Boots as much. examples include Great Tusk and Excadrill.
Checks And Counters
========
**Contact Effects**: Kleavors STABS, coverage and most importantly his signature move Stone Exe all make contact. Therefore, one of the best ways to counter Kleavor is with contact effects like Rocky Helmet or Rough skin.
**Fighting/Steel Types**: Fighting and Steel types resist both of Kleavors' STABS, forcing Kleavor to run Close Combat for Steel types, and the weak Aerial Ace for Fighting types.
**Entry Hazard Removal**: Most hazard removers give Kleavor a hard time, being able to resist its attacks and remove the Stone Exe Rocks. for example, Pokemon like Iron Treads and Corviknight.
**Revenge Killers**: Kleavor is fairly slow at 85 speed, hence why its very susceptible to faster Pokemon revenge killing him.
