[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 7-9 points

**Overview**: Kleavor serves as a utility Pokemon, as its unique ability to set up Stealth Rock while also dealing damage makes it a valuable asset. In addition, access to both U-turn and Defog furthers its role as a utility pivot. Kleavor can hit hard with its combination of high Attack and Sharpness-boosted STAB moves; however, its Speed and bulk are mediocre, it has a very unideal typing both offensively and defensively, and its movepool is shallow, thus necessitating the right conditions to allow it to properly function.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Suicide Lead**: Stone Axe allows Kleavor to reliably deal lots of damage to foes while setting Stealth Rock. However, due to its mediocre Speed and bulk, it often requires either a Focus Sash or Choice Scarf to ensure it is able to get a Stone Axe off.

**Wallbreaker**: Kleavor's high Attack combined with Sharpness makes it an effective wallbreaker. Its damage can be further boosted by Swords Dance or Choice Band, but it often wants to run Heavy-Duty Boots when it is expected to pivot frequently.

**Revenge Killer**: A Choice Scarf allows Kleavor to overcome its lackluster Speed and revenge kill foes with its powerful Sharpness-boosted Stone Axe and X-Scissor. In addition, access to a fast U-turn allows it to maintain momentum.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Stone Axe, Rock Blast, U-turn, X-Scissor

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze, Agility

**Utility Moves**: Defog, Substitute, Brick Break, Roar

**Coverage**: Close Combat, Night Slash, Aerial Ace, Slash

Niche Moves
========
**Pounce / Rock Tomb**: Pounce and Rock Tomb allow Kleavor to hinder foes by lowering their Speed, potentially allowing it or any of its allies to be faster the next turn.

**Reversal**: When Reversal is used alongside Endure and either a Salac Berry or a Custap Berry, Kleavor is able to deliver a Fighting-type nuke to deal massive damage to any Pokemon that does not resist Fighting. This can be used to weaken a defensive Pokemon or eliminate a fast-but-frail threat such as Meowscarada, Darkrai, or Terrakion.

**Endure**: Endure allows Kleavor to survive a hit, which is useful for surviving one-time-use priority moves such as First Impression and Fake Out as well as activating pinch berries such as Salac Berry and Custap Berry. Endure also synergizes well with the aforementioned Reversal.

**Light Screen**: Light Screen can be useful to allow Kleavor to support its teammates by weakening powerful special attackers such as Chi-Yu, Raging Bolt, and Enamorus.

**Quick Attack**: Quick Attack allows Kleavor to finish off weakened foes, which is especially useful against Pokemon with Sturdy and Pokemon expected to hold a Focus Sash.

Common Items
========
**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf allows Kleavor to boost its subpar Speed to nearly guarantee it a chance to set Stealth Rock with Stone Axe and provide more offensive value throughout the game.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: As Kleavor is vulnerable to Stealth Rock and other entry hazards, it appreciates the immunity to them, especially considering the synergy between Heavy-Duty Boots and U-turn, allowing Kleavor to more effectively be a defensive pivot.

**Focus Sash**: As Kleavor is relatively frail, Focus Sash is incredibly helpful in allowing it to survive almost any hit and ensure that Stealth Rock gets up through Stone Axe.

Niche Items
========
**Resistance Berries**: Resistance Berries are a way to circumvent Kleavor's frailty by letting it survive an attack and set up Stealth Rock with Stone Axe. Resistance Berries also allow Kleavor to lure Rock- and Steel-type Pokemon in and nail them with a super effective Close Combat.

**Choice Band**: Though Kleavor has a middling Speed stat, when facing teams with slower, bulkier Pokemon, Choice Band is extremely helpful in allowing it to deal more damage and weaken defensive backbones for its teammates.

**Salac Berry / Custap Berry**: Both Salac and Custap Berry allow Kleavor to outspeed its foes when it reaches low health, which enables its ability to pick off frailer threats, whether it be with one of its Sharpness-boosted STAB moves or Reversal.

Tera
========
Kleavor receives very little benefit from Terastallizing, so it is not recommended to chose it as a Tera Captain. If you do make it a Tera Captain, however, Terastallizing it into Tera Rock or Bug to further empower its Sharpness-boosted STAB moves is recommended, though it can also Terastallize into Tera Fighting to boost Close Combat. On the other hand, Kleavor can choose to Terastallize into Tera Ghost, giving it a valuable immunity to Rapid Spin.

Draft Strategy
========
Kleavor should never be the focal point of a draft; instead, it should be picked to complement previous picks through its ability to nearly guarantee setting Stealth Rock. Teams looking for a Stealth Rock user and a pivot can look to Kleavor as an option.

**Wallbreakers**: Many wallbreakers appreciate Kleavor's ability to get Stealth Rock up, as it allows them to reach certain KO benchmarks that were previously unattainable. This is especially true with special attackers that appreciate Kleavor’s ability to break special walls. Examples include Darkrai, Sneasler, and Chi-Yu.

**Entry Hazard Removal Blockers**: Since most of Kleavor's value stems from its undeniable Stealth Rock, Ghost-type Pokemon that can block Rapid Spin, such as Gholdengo, Skeledirge, and Pecharunt, are key. In addition, Pokemon that can deny Defog with a fast Taunt, such as Tornadus-T, and Pokemon that deter Defog with Defiant and Competitive, such as Galarian Zapdos and Kilowattrel, make excellent partners.

**Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type Pokemon**: Kleavor's STAB move combination leaves it walled by Steel-type Pokemon, making Pokemon that can break them, such as Sneasler, Garchomp, and Chi-Yu, valuable teammates.

**Entry Hazard Control**: Due to its frailty and crippling Stealth Rock weakness, Kleavor appreciates spinners such as Great Tusk and Terapagos. While Defoggers such as Corviknight are considerable options, Rapid Spin is slightly preferred, as it allows entry hazards to remain on the opposing side, which is key to Kleavor's main use in getting up Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
========
**Steel-type Pokemon**: Kleavor's STAB move combination is walled by Steel-types. In particular, Steel-types not weak to its Close Combat are incredible checks, with prime examples being Gholdengo, Tinkaton, and Revavroom. In addition, Iron Crown is also an incredible counter to Kleavor, as Tachyon Cutter allows it to knock it out through either Focus Sash or Babiri Berry.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Kleavor is realistically a one-dimensional physical attacker, thus making physical walls such as Dondozo, Alomomola, and Pecharunt excellent checks.

**Contact Effects**: If Kleavor is KOed due to contact damage while using Stone Axe, Stealth Rock will not be set. Pokemon like Garchomp and any Pokemon holding a Rocky Helmet can deny Stealth Rock from being set up. Flame Body and Static can also strongly cripple Kleavor.

**Faster Threats / Speed-boosting Pokemon**: Due to its frail nature, Kleavor is extremely threatened by faster Pokemon. Even with a Choice Scarf, its mediocre Speed leads to it being outsped by common Speed-boosting Pokemon and Choice Scarf users such as Terrakion, Iron Valiant, and Jirachi.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 4 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 9-11 7-9 points (It's been going down in value as people see how slow and one-dimensional it is)

**Overview**: Kleavor serves as a utility Pokemon, was its unique ability to set up Stealth Rock reliably makes it a valuable asset. In addition, access to both U-turn and Defog furthers Kleavor's role as a utility pivot. It can hit hard with high attack and Sharpness-boosted STAB moves, However, its speed and bulk are mediocre, and its movepool is shallow, thus necessitating the right conditions to allow Kleavor to properly function.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Suicide Lead**: Kleavor's signature move, Stone Axe, notably lets it set up Stealth Rock while bypassing Magic Bounce, Taunt, and Magic Coat, thus nearly guaranteeing that Stealth Rock will go up. However, due to Kleavor's mediocre speed and bulk, it often requires either a Focus Sash or Choice Scarf to ensure it is able to get a Stone Axe off.

**Utility Pivot**: Equipped with Heavy-Duty Boots, Kleavor can become a pivot utilizing moves such as Stone Axe, Defog, and Tailwind to support its team and then pivoting out with U-turn.

**Revenge Killer**: A Choice Scarf allows Kleavor to overcome its lackluster Speed and revenge kill foes with its powerful Sharpness-boosted Stone Axe or X-Scissor. (Moved down because this is probably less common than Utility Pivot)

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Stone Axe, Rock Blast, U-turn, X-Scissor

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze, Agility

**Utility Moves**: Defog, Substitute, Tailwind, Brick Break, Roar, Light Screen

**Coverage**: Close Combat, Night Slash, Aerial Ace, Slash

Niche Moves
========
**Pounce / Rock Tomb**: These moves allow Kleavor to hinder foes by lowering their speed, potentially allowing Kleavor, or any of its allies, be faster than it the next turn.

**Counter**: Potentially paired with a Focus Sash or a Resistance Berry, Counter allows Kleavor to strike back at an enemy who may have previously walled it.

**Reversal**: When Reversal is used alongside Endure and either a Salac Berry or a Custap Berry, Kleavor is able to deliver a Fighting-type nuke to deal massive damage to any non-resist. This can be used to weaken a defensive Pokemon or even be used to eliminate a fast but frail threat such as Meowscarada, Darkrai, or Terrakion.

**Endure**: Endure allows Kleavor to survive a hit, usually at low health, which is useful for one-time-use priority moves such as First Impression or Fake Out, but also for activating pinch berries such as Salac Berry and Custap Berry. Endure also synergizes well with the aforementioned Reversal.

**Thief**: Kleavor can utilize Thief in conjuction with a consumable item such as Custap Berry to both allow itself a new item and potentially cripple the foe by removing its item. (too niche, Kleavor generally isn't surviving after consuming its own item)

Common Items
========
**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf allows Kleavor to boost its subpar Speed, thus allowing it to nearly guarantee Stealth Rock with Stone Axe and provide more offensive value throughout the game.

**Heavy-Duty Boots**: As Kleavor is vulnerable to Stealth Rock and other hazards, it appreciates the immunity to hazards, especially considering the synergy between Heavy-Duty Boots and U-turn, allowing Kleavor to more effectively be a defensive pivot.

**Focus Sash**: As Kleavor is relatively frail, Focus Sash is incredibly helpful in allowing it to live almost any hit and ensure that Stealth Rock gets up through Stone Axe. In addition, Focus Sash can synergize with Counter to allow Kleavor to turn the tables on any foe aiming to faint Kleavor in one hit with a physical move.

Niche Items
========
**Resistance Berries**: Resistance berries are another way to circumvent Kleavor's frailty, as they also assist Kleavor in living hits surviving an attack and striking back setting up Stealth Rock with Stone Axe. (moved to niche)

**Choice Band**: Though Kleavor has a middling Speed stat, when facing teams with slower, bulkier Pokemon such as Skarmory, Alomomola, and Garganacl, Choice Band is extremely helpful in allowing Kleavor to deal more damage and weakening defensive backbones for its teammates.

**Salac Berry / Custap Berry**: Both of these items allow Kleavor to outspeed its foes when it reaches low health by using endure to survive an attack, which enables Kleavor's ablity to pick off frailer threats, whether it be with one of its Sharpness-boosted STABs or with the niche move Reversal.

Tera
========
Kleavor should in no circumstances be a Tera Captain, but if it is chosen for some reason, Kleaver receives very little benefit from Terastallizing, so it is not recommended to chose it as a Tera Captain. If you do, however, Terastallizing into Rock or Bug to further empower its Sharpness-boosted STABs is recommended, though Kleavor can also Terastallize into Ghost to spinblock or into Fighting to boost Close Combat. (make some mention of defensive teras, even though they aren't as useful as offensive ones.)

Draft Strategy
========
Kleavor should never be the focal point of a Draft; instead, it should be picked to complement previous picks, such as through its ability to nearly guarantee Stealth Rock. (expand on this section, mention both hazard stack and pivot support for setup pokemon.)

**Wallbreakers**: Many wallbreakers appreciate Kleavor's ability to get Stealth Rock up, as Stealth Rock allows them to reach certain OHKO or 2HKO benchmarks that were previously unattainable. Examples include Darkrai, Meowscarada, Sneasler, and Weavile.

**Ghost-type Pokemon Hazard-removal Blockers**: Since much of Kleavor's value stems from its undeniable Stealth Rock, to maximize value from it, Ghost-type Pokemon that can block Rapid Spin are key, with Gholdengo, Skeledirge, and Pecharunt being excellent spinblockers. Additionally, Pokemon that can stop Defog with Taunt or punish it with Defiant or Competitive can benefit from Kleavor's ability to almost always set Stealth Rocks.

**Fire-, Fighting-, and Ground-type Pokemon**: Kleavor's STAB combination of Rock and Bug leaves it walled by Steel-type Pokemon, thus making Pokemon that can break Steel-types, such as Sneasler, Garchomp, and Chi-Yu, valuable teammates.

**Entry Hazard Control**: Due to its frailty and crippling Stealth Rock weakness, Kleavor appreciates spinners such as Great Tusk and Terapagos. While Defoggers such as Corviknight are considerable options, Rapid Spin is slightly preferred, as it allows hazards to remain on the opposing side, key to Kleavor's main use in getting up Stealth Rock.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Kleavor is realistically a one-dimensional physical attacker, thus making physical walls such as Dondozo, Alomomola, and Pecharunt excellent checks.

**Rough Skin / Rocky Helmet**: Due to the interaction between Stone Axe and Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin, if Kleavor dies due to contact damage while using Stone Axe, Stealth Rock will not be set. Pokemon like Garchomp, or any Pokemon faster than Kleavor holding a Rocky Helmet can deny Stealth Rocks from being set up.

**Faster Threats / Speed-Boosting Pokemon**: Due to its frail nature, Kleavor is extremely threatened by faster Pokemon. Even with a Choice Scarf equipped, an Adamant Kleavor still finds itself outsped by Barraskewda, Zamazenta, and Dragapult. Though Kleavor can opt to run a Jolly Nature, its mediocre speed leads to it still being outsped by common speed-boosting Pokemon such as Terrakion, Iron Valiant, and Jirachi.

**Utility Pivot**: Equipped with Heavy-Duty Boots, Kleavor can become a pivot utilizing moves such as Stone Axe, Defog, and Tailwind to support its team and then pivoting out with U-turn. Im ngl i dont think this is a real set - it almost never uses defog, and tailwind isn't a real move in singles 99% of the time. I'd replace this with a "wallbreaker" set - wrote something up you can use if you want below

**Wallbreaker**: Kleavor's high Attack combined with Sharpness makes it an effective wallbreaker. Its damage can be further boosted by Swords Dance or Choice Band, although it often wants to run Heavy-Duty Boots when it is expected to pivot frequently.

**Revenge Killer**: A Choice Scarf allows Kleavor to overcome its lackluster Speed and revenge kill foes with its powerful Sharpness-boosted Stone Axe or X-Scissor. It can also maintain momentum with a fast U-turn.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Stone Axe, Rock Blast, U-turn, X-Scissor

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze, Agility

**Utility Moves**: Defog, Substitute, Tailwind, Brick Break, Roar, Light Screen LS is too niche when it cant be paired with reflect

**Coverage**: Close Combat, Night Slash, Aerial Ace, Slash

Niche Moves
========

I can't imagine kleavor ever using this - it wants its health & it can do damage in other ways most of the time

**Wallbreakers**: Many wallbreakers appreciate Kleavor's ability to get Stealth Rock up, as Stealth Rock allows them to reach certain OHKO or 2HKO benchmarks that were previously unattainable. Examples include Meowscarada, Sneasler, and Weavile. I'd put more emphasis on special wallbreakers that can compliment Kleavor's physical offense

**Hazard-Removal Blockers**: Since much of Kleavor's value stems from its undeniable Stealth Rock, to maximize value from it, Ghost-type Pokemon that can block Rapid Spin are key, with Gholdengo, Skeledirge, and Pecharunt being excellent spinblockers. In addition, Pokemon that can deny Defog with a fast Taunt such as Tornadus-Therian, or Pokemon that deter Defog with Defiant or Competitive such as Zapdos-Galar Galarian Zapdos or Kilowattrel, make excellent partners.

**Rough Skin / Rocky Helmet Contact Effects**: Due to the interaction between Stone Axe and Rocky Helmet or Rough Skin, if Kleavor dies due to contact damage while using Stone Axe, Stealth Rock will not be set. Pokemon like Garchomp, or any Pokemon faster than Kleavor not sure why it needs to be faster - kleavor is koed from using stone axe on slower foes, and faster foes just ko it anyway holding a Rocky Helmet can deny Stealth Rocks from being set up. Flame Body and Static can also strongly cripple Kleavor.

**Faster Threats / Speed-Boosting Pokemon**: Due to its frail nature, Kleavor is extremely threatened by faster Pokemon. Even with a Choice Scarf equipped, an Adamant Kleavor still finds itself outsped by Barraskewda, Zamazenta, and Dragapult Dragapult & Zama are both banned & kleavor wouldn't run adamant anyway if its facing those mons. Though Kleavor can opt to run a Jolly Nature, Even with a Choice Scarf, its mediocre speed leads to it still being outsped by common speed-boosting Pokemon and Choice Scarf users such as Terrakion, Iron Valiant, and Jirachi.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 7-9 points

**Overview**: Kleavor serves as a utility Pokemon, was its unique ability to set up Stealth Rock reliably makes it a valuable asset. In addition, access to both U-turn and Defog furthers Kleavor's role as a utility pivot. It can hit hard with the combination of high attack and Sharpness-boosted STAB moves; however, its speed and bulk are mediocre, it has a very unideal typing both offensively and defensively, and its movepool is shallow, thus necessitating the right conditions to allow Kleavor to properly function.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Suicide Lead**: Kleavor's signature move, Stone Axe, notably lets it set up Stealth Rock while bypassing Magic Bounce, Taunt, and Magic Coat, thus nearly deals lots of damage to foes while guaranteeing that Stealth Rock will go up.

========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Stone Axe, Rock Blast, U-turn, X-Scissor

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze, Agility

**Utility Moves**: Defog, Substitute, Tailwind, Brick Break, Roar, Light Screen LS is too niche when it cant be paired with reflect

**Coverage**: Close Combat, Night Slash, Aerial Ace, Slash

Niche Moves
========

I can't imagine kleavor ever using this - it wants its health & it can do damage in other ways most of the time

Common Items
========

Niche Items
========
**Resistance Berries**: Resistance berries are another way to circumvent Kleavor's frailty, as they also assist Kleavor in surviving an attack and setting up Stealth Rock with Stone Axe.

**Choice Band**: Though Kleavor has a middling Speed stat, when facing teams with slower, bulkier Pokemon such as Skarmory, Alomomola, and Garganacl you don't need to give examples here, Choice Band is extremely helpful in allowing Kleavor to deal more damage and weakening defensive backbones for its teammates.

**Salac Berry / Custap Berry**: Both of these items allow Kleavor to outspeed its foes when it reaches low health, which enables Kleavor's ablity to pick off frailer threats, whether it be with one of its Sharpness-boosted STABs or with the niche move Reversal.

Tera
========
Kleaver receives very little benefit from Terastallizing, so it is not recommended to chose it as a Tera Captain. If you do, however, Terastallizing into Rock or Bug to further empower its Sharpness-boosted STABs is recommended, though Kleavor can also Terastallize into Fighting to boost Close Combat. On other hand, Kleavor can choose to Terastallize into Ghost, thus giving it a valuable immunity to Rapid Spin.

Draft Strategy
========
Kleavor should never be the focal point of a Draft; instead, it should be picked to complement previous picks, such as through its ability to nearly guarantee Stealth Rock. Teams looking for a Stealth Rock users and a pivot can look to Kleavor as an option.

Checks and Counters
========
**Steel-type Pokemon**: As previously mentioned, Kleavor's STAB combination is walled by Steel-types. In particular, Steel-types not weak to Kleavor's Close Combat are incredible checks, with prime examples being Gholdengo, Tinkaton, and Revavroom. In addition, Iron Crown is also an incredible counter to Kleavor, as Tachyon Cutter allows it to knock out Kleavor through either Focus Sash or Babiri Berry

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Kleavor is realistically a one-dimensional physical attacker, thus making physical walls such as Dondozo, Alomomola, and Pecharunt excellent checks.
