Klefki @ Rocky Helmet / Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SpD
Careful Nature
- Play Rough
- Foul Play
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
Klefki may not be taking on Xerneas anymore, but Klefki is still a great Pokemon in NU, utilising its great typing and support moves to support its team! Foul Play can allow Klefki to punish physical attackers such as Rhyperior and Toxicroak that may try to setup on Klefki. Thunder Wave combined with Prankster can let Klefki punish faster Pokemon such as Munkidori and Cinccino before they are able to retaliate in return. the given EV spread allows Klefki to live an Earthquake from Flygon from full, with the rest of the EV's being dumped into special defense to allow Klefki to take special attackers such as Kilowattrel and Munkidori better. Tera Grass allows Klefki to resist Earthquakes from the likes of Rhyperior and Flygon, while also helping against Water-types such as Barraskewda and Basculegion. Klefki is a great Pokemon on a variety of teams, ranging from offense to balance. Bulky Water-types such as Vaporeon and Swampert pair well with Klefki, as they can take on Fire-types such as Chandelure and Incineroar Klefki can struggle with. Spinblockers such as Houndstone and Chandelure, or Defog deterrents such as Galarian Articuno and Kilowattrel are amazing for Klefki, as they can help keep its Spikes on the field by pressuing common removal options such as Tsareena and Altaria.
