Koa'ki, Sandstorm Legacies: My First and Last B2W2 RMT

Hi my name is cellgoondude and I am not a beginner, but by no means am I an expert. I love my teams, but when I came to competitive battling, I realized that weather teams were all the outRAGE :D Let's cut to the chase... TEAMBUILDING :D No moving pics due to me being lazy and just plain clueless and not wanting to search.

I wanted a Weather Inducer for Sand, so it was either the hippo or Ttar. Ttar, the boss was chosen as a scarfer, not a lead.

Next, I chose my lead set up and maybe it could even spin. So I chose Fortress custap start.

Now I was on the prowl for power so a legendary seemed appealing. I would go with Landorus-T or Terrakion. I chose Landordus-T for power, spikes immunity, and the general scariness of trying to fight him.

Steel types weren't going to be a problem, but I enjoy not dealing with them. Magnezone fits as the Steel Trapper of Doom.

Coverage of Water was important, so here comes Gastrodon. The Eastern one, not that pink slug >.>

Last was the hardest because I could have Renuculus, the psychic type that doesn't take damage from sandstorm and has a trick room, but the pokemon that were slow didn't mind going second usually. Garchomp was thought of just to use a dragon, but I'd rather get a bulkier one and preferably not a ice 4x weakness. I settled on Lati@s, the dragon of bulkiness. She can set up and kill. I thought it was a good deal, also having that awesome ground immunity :D

Then I got a call from the Derpy's Armadillo: He told me to change my Ttar nature, so I did and it was awesome.

Ms. Espeon called next saying stuff about how I suck against sun teams (true enough). So bye Forretress and hello Heatran! Awesome. Also, I have had some moveset changes from this too.

TO THE TEAM

The Lead: Guardian
Heatran @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast/Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Taunt

The first pokemon I replaced. Good bye Forretress and hello Heatran. It does not have any set up because I have one on Landourus-T. So instead I use taunt to break stallers. HP Ice is pretty much staple, KILL the dragons! Earth Power is awesome for coverage steel, rock, fire, the things Heatran usually has no coverage with :) Fire Blast was the suggested offensive stab, but I wonder if Magma Storm would be better. Thoughts everyone?

The Inducer: Sandman
Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf (M)
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Nature: Jolly
- Pursuit/Aqua Tail
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

The Inducer won an automatic spot in my heart, while also being the awesome scarfer. The set is pretty much the average set that most people run, but I am considering replacing Pursuit with Aqua Tail to ease of predictions of when they switch in or they don't (I get a weaker move... yay). Ttar is a scarfer so he can just destroy by outspeeding threats and stuff. I know, I've got a way with words.

The Protecter: Wall
Lati@s @ Light Clay (F)
Trait: Levitate
IVs: 0 Atk
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Healing Wish
- Draco Meteor

The Dual Screen wall of my team. Now why would I run this? Having dual screens really help me more than offensive Lati@s since I have TONS of offense, so why not defense? Or better a full tank with Draco Meteor to obliterate the unready? When Latias is exhausted, about to die, and has enough bulk or speed to survive the next attack, Healing Wish brings back another pokemon to full health, while also bringing it in unharmed (like a boss :D).

The Scout: Prototype
Landorus-T @ Leftovers (M)
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spe
Nature: Naive
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- U-Turn
- Hidden Power Ice

The scout does his job nicely, being very damaging while scouting and also retaining health due to those leftovers of an apple (lol). Stealth Rock allows even more set up, Earthquake is a great stab killing does pesky stealers (steel, steal? anything people?). U-Turn allows scouting to be possible while even maybe killing off dark and psychic types. Hidden Power Ice just surprises an enemy and kills those dragons. With base 105 Sp. Atk, it still does damage uninvested.

The Drain: Hydro Cage (Actual name Hydro Barrier, not enough space :/)
Gastrodon @ Leftovers (F) East Side
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SpD
Nature: Sassy
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Recover
- Toxic

The Drain does exactly as the name suggests: She drains all the water away for a boost. Predicting water moves, switch in, take no damage and gain Sp. Atk, is annoying with recover and toxic stall. Earthquake provides some power and destroys stealers(also is a surprise since Gastrodon is a Sp. Atker), while Scald burns and deals with other ground and rock types as well as fire types. I'm sad that Showdown doesn't have East side.

The Trapper: Speeder
Magnezone @ Choice Specs (?)
IVs: 0 Atk

EVs: 172 HP / 252 SpA / 84 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

The Trapper's job is simple: Trap opposing steel types, kill said steel types, switch out, repeat and rinse for other steels. Volt switch allows Magnezone to scout safely. Hidden Power Fire allows Magnezone to screw other Steels like a baws. Flash Cannon and Thunderbolt for stab and coverage. It excels at pulling steel types to their doom and is a nightmare for them to deal with.

Importable:
Guardian (Heatran) (F) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

- Taunt

Sandman (Tyranitar) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Prototype (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 Spd

Conclusion: Thank you for reading my First RMT evar and my Last RMT for B2/W2 :D Please take time to vote and change things for I know this team is not even CLOSE to perfect. Btw: If you don't get the reference in the title, it's fine.

You should change the nature to Jolly because Tyranitar is already slow for a Scarfer and is still slower than Pokemon like Alakazam even with a Scarf so you don't want to cut your speed even more and be outrun more Scarfless Pokemon. Also, tot should stick with Pursuit because you can and will force many switches with Tyranitar so you want to be able to catch them on the retreat.

This is just personal opinion but I've always found Substitute Magnezone to be much more effective for trapping, especially for Ferrothorn and Forretress. Set up Sub, OHKO or 2HKO with HP Fire, T-Wave switch-in if possible, if not, switch out to Landorus-T in all likelihood and do your stuff. This also tends to help put your opponent one step behind by paralyzing their switch-in which most commonly will be along the lines of a Fighting-type or Fire-type. In the case of a Ground-type, you switch out to Landorus-T.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave

Apart from that, I'd just say that Custap Lead Forretress never got my liking even after a lot of testing because it tends to draw out a lot of set-up Pokemon or Substitute boosters, making your Custap Explosion pointless. However, that is just personal preference.
As for Malefics, we should or I am hoping that we will be better this format, although MacroLefic Virus would have been nice.

Hey, nice team.

I got your PM request to rate this team, so here I am. This looks like a pretty darn solid balanced Sand team, in my eyes, but there are some massive flaws that prevent it from being even better than it can be, so that's what my detailed rate will cover. With all of that said & done, let's get onto my rate, now shall we? Right off the bat, I can see a huge, no, overwhelming weakness to Sun teams that carry Dugtrio. Sun will be hell to beat for you, as Dugtrio still outspeeds & kills your Tyranitar & then Venusaur can setup a Growth on literally everything & sweep your team clean, getting the OHKO on every one of your Pokémon at +2, bar Latias, which can't do much to it anyway. Quiver Dance Volcarona is also a huge pain for your team, because at +1, it out-speeds your entire team & it's coverage moves will destroy your entire team. To help remedy both of these situations, I would recommend running an Offensive Heatran over your current choice of your lead Forretress. Heatran makes a fantastic addition to your team, as it stops both Venusaur & Volcarona in their tracks (Only if the latter doesn't carry HP Ground if your balloon is popped). Moving on with your team, I would like to suggest changing your Gastrodons EV spread to a more effective one of 252 HP / 84 Def / 172 SpD with a Sassy Nature. The after-mentioned EV spread allows Gastrodon to survive a Stone Edge from CB Terrakion, as well as an Outrage from CB Garchomp. Staying on Gastrodon, I recommend running Earthquake over your choice of Earth Power. Earthquake nails several Rock types in sand, expecting an Earth Power. Finally, I would like to suggest Sleep Talk over your current choice of Thunderbolt on Magnezone. Sleep Talk helps you against Spore users, the only 2 being Breloom & Amoonguss. Well, that's all I have to say for now. I hope my advice helped. Have fun & good luck in your future endeavours!
