Hello Smogon, Burnt Panda (TreeChar) here with my second RMT to be posted on smogon. I have been on a 2 months haitus and I come back and Excadrill and Thundurus were banned. Now I was a big bandwagon kinda guy. I see a good team and I try to use that kind of team, so when I saw that; a majority of my "good" teams went to watse. I decided I would come back into the meta just to see RMTs with Rain Stall AND Hyper Offense. I didn't know what to do, so I went with the reliable Sand. Thus, Kool-Aid and Frozen Pizza was born. This team has gone through many stages, one even being my other RMT "Double Negative". But I have made a much more offensive approach since that. Now let me tell you a bit about this team.

Once I decided I indeed wanted Sand a major decision was:

tyranitar.png
OR
hippowdon.png

I eventually after multiple tests went with Tyranitar, it's movepool is without lacking, and it can set up rocks and decimate Lati@s which I would otherwise have problems with. Hippowdon is great and has amazing bulk but he didn't make the cut for this team. But I honestly don't know why Hippowdon is so underused he is great in his own way :p. And hell, Tyranitar can't take an earthquake like he can *quickly changes to Hippowdon*.

So far we have a total of 1 pokemon :D!

tyranitar.png

Now I have Rocks, Sand, and a Special Wall. What else can I add? You got it (doubt it) a defensive core! My normal defensive core is much more... well offensive. But with this team I wanted a more offensive approach. So I went with Sp Def SD Scizor, Choice Scarf rotom, a Bulky SubAcrobatics Gliscor. The core is amazing, but it has plenty of holes in it that I would like you guys to help me fix. I went with these sets because I feel that I enjoy the variety in it. In "Double Negative" I used a Bulky Rotom, CM Latias, and Standard TauntSD Gliscor with a SpDef Banded Scizor on the side. It worked really well, but was extremely standard and started to lose soon enough. There goes the Defensive Core!

Team so after Sand and Defensive Core!

Last but not least, we have our Sweeper! I have a choice of SO many pokemon to take this position. This was the hardest spot to fill and I'm not even sure it is going to be his for long! But after long periods of testing and thinking. It finally came down to Dragonite, Terrakion, or Landorus. I found Dragonite really helped with my Water weakness and added another powerful dragon. Terrakion brought the powerhouse Close Combat and Stone Edge, beating even it's checks and counter if they he catches them making a single mistake. But I felt he was just to fragile in with SpDef boost. Landorus was my last hope, but he fulfilled everything I needed him to. He gets the sub/SD and proceeds to sweep, being stopped by Bronzong. Landorus is fun to use with Rotom as they work together extremely well. He has made a damn great part of this team and I would not have gotten anywhere if it weren't for him.

And then I threw Latios in there because he is cute.

@ Leftovers
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
Levitate Ability
EV's: 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Will-o'-Wisp
-Pain Split
-Thunderbolt

Rotom...oh Rotom, what would I do without you. Rotom is a very valuable member of this team. I run the obvious 252/252 spread because I believe that is best for a scarfer. He runs Volt Switch as a hit and run move. Hydro Pump for that powerful stab move. Trick for those annoying walls that don't go away. And HP Fire for the pesky steels that otherwise cause me a problem. I find Rotom to be a great pokemon even better than last gen. He got the Type change to Water/Electric many the only SE thing that hits it is grass. He also gained Hydro Pump as a stab move making it much more offensively worthy. But it lost it's ability to spin-block, but it doesn't seem to miss it much.

FIX
With the help of my raters, I realized that Scarf Rotom is just too weak in this type of team. So instead of switching him out, I changed his set. He runs 112 HP for some initial bulk. 252 SpAtk so he packs a punch. And 144 Speed to outspeed various threats. Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump for STAB. WoW too destroy physical attackers that try to fuck with him.

Latios. Latios is a straight up beast. If he gets a Calm Mind up with Tyranitar gone. Expect havoc to be unleashed in ya ass. I chose this over his sis because of the offensive kick it has over her. The only downside is how well it takes Bullet Punches from Scizor IMO. I again run 252/252 as Latios doesn't want anything else. Dragon Pulse as main go to STAB move. HP Fire again for the steels. Calm Mind for a bit of bulk and an extra kick in my attacks. Surf for the likes of...IDK That is something you can help me with..

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SpA)
Sand Veil Ability
EV's: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
-Substitute
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Acrobatics

All I can say is, WOW. When I read about this set, I thought it would be just one of those "ok" sweep 3/10 battles kinda sets. But the moment I hit Rotom more 42% unboosted. I fell in love. I threw these EVs together. Trying to keep some bulk and some offense. Jolly Nature to outspeed Heatran and a few others. Swords Dance for a major boost in power. Prostitute gives me extra protection to finish the sweep. Acrobatics + Flight Gem = :justin2: And I don't mind the 110 BP move before STAB either. And then there is Earthquake, taking out most things that resist Acrobatics with a solid 100 BP.

/smuglook I feel so bad when I use this pokemon. He is a better troll than Whimsicott, a better sweeper can Plusle, and sexier than YOU. He is so legit, he has that 252/4/252 spread. Keeps that attack and speed up high where it should be. And SpAtk can always use the extra help. Sand Force to pack that nasty punch it has. Earthquake and Stone Edge as main attacking moves because they are powered up by Sand Force. HP Ice for Gliscor and low HP dragons that I don't want to risk stone edge on. Substitute helps with its sweeping capabilities. And Swords Dance let's it all happen :J.

EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SDef

Scizor is purty good, not as good as I would like on this team. I run BulkySD because I love peoples reactions when I live HP Fires and Hydro Pumps etc. 252/252 because I didnt feel like going to in-depth with it (I'm rather lazy) and Careful Nature for the SpDef boost. Swords Dance for extra power as I lost it in the EVs. Bug Bite and simple STAB and boosted by technician. Bullet Punch for the same reason + Priority. Roost to regain health after a long day of work.

@ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)

- Stealth Rock
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge

...It's a fucking Tyranitar...you should know this by now. You should, doesn't mean I do. I always mess up T-Tar, he has so many sets, I never know what to use.. I use something similiar to this always because I love messing with Lati@s and Ninetales. Rocks because I like to predict so the opponent (if they are good) will also. So it can rack up. Crunch AND Pursuit? I like to use that when they think I don't carry both. It works often more than not. And it has done me plenty good. 252/252 for Power and Bulk at the same time.

Special Thanks to #Mass>destruction for the help with this team!
And to eRMT for doing all the hard stuff!

Landorus can't have 5 moves. I would run max speed and attack on gliscor for adamant lucarios / Jolly with enough to outspeed. Lando I would either take off sub for HP ice or run sub leftovers with EQ HP ice and stone edge / smack down

You said you needed help with the T-Tar set, so I'll try and help you. If you want to be able to be a special wall, just replace the Atk EVs for HP EVs, which will give you maximum bulk when going up against special threats. Also, I'd replace stone edge with Superpower for better coverage.

Hi Burnt_Panda.

No doubt, this is a pretty solid team, but i got a few suggestions that may help you in improving this team. First up, swap your Rotom-w with the standard Hydro Pump/Volt Switch/Will O Wisp/Pain Split set. Scarf Rotom-w isnt a great idea in sandstorm as you probably need it to take water hits pretty well (latios can't take hydros all day).

Next up, +1 Volcarona is a pretty big threat and could sweep your team clean (unless your tyranitar is at maxed health and you're sure that you'll hit stone edge every time). Consider using a Scarf Landorus with Earthquake/U-Turn/Stone Edge/HP Ice over your current set, as Landorus's trollish 101 speed stat makes it possible to outspeed all volcaronas at +1.

Landorus (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Next, running a Sp Defensive Choice Banded Scizor over your current set may also be a decent choice considering you already have Gliscor as your Swords Dancer.

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch

With the EVs, you can still take HP Fire from unboosted Celebis and at the same time deal harder damage to your opponents with the Choice Band.

Lastly, i'm seconding Walrusman's suggestion on running Maxed Speed on your Gliscor as Lucario might be a pain in the ass it sets up.

Good Luck!

Please don't use light colored fonts, because they are hard for some people to read. Other than that watch your 6x ice weakness.

Darr4n Thanks for the rate, I just entered it all into PO, can't wait to test. Also, Dragone, I apoligize for the light colors...?

It's ok, I personally have no problem with light colors but I know some people don't like them so just giving you a heads up. I'll do a type weakness/resistance analysis for your team if you want.

Hi.

I'm not a team rater but I'm just letting you know that your current Landorus has no need for Naive. Make it Jolly and give it 4 EVs to HP, and give the rest of your mons those Extra 6 EVs. :o

Hello there, Burnt Panda, this is quite a solid SandStorm team. Assuming you take the earlier advice given to you, there are only a small number of problems to deal with in this team. Firstly, since you're going with an offensive Gliscor set, you're wanting to run the maximum Offensive EV's, like so:

Gliscor @ Flying Gem
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
Sand Veil Ability
EV's: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
-Substitute
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Acrobatics

This gives you solid Speed and Attack stats. Rely on Gliscor's natural physical bulk and the Subs to give him survivability. Afterward, we have Latios. Calm Mind isn't really the way to go, since you already have a couple of set up sweepers, and so I'd recommend a straight-up offensive set:

Latios @ Life Orb OR Expert Belt
Timid Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
Levitate Ability
EV's: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Hidden Power Fire
-Recover

This makes for an awesome sweeper. Boosts from LO or Expert Belt (which you can bluff as Specs/Scarf) hit hard, so his role as a basic sweeper or revenge killer becomes more important than your CM set. Also, judging from the earlier rates, you'll have 3 Choiced Pokemon on your team, which can be really dangerous. Since you already have a Scarfed Landorus, Bulky Rotom would be a good adaptation for the team. I'll post the standard set:

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
Levitate Ability
EV's: 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Will-o'-Wisp
-Pain Split
-Thunderbolt

This gives you a more offensive backbone, and you have a chance to cripple some physical threats with WoW, while still allowing for the hard-hitting Hydro Pump and T-bolt. Well, that's all I have. You've got a good team in the works here, and I wish you the best of luck with it! Hope I was helpful.

Yes, I have to fix that, I was confused while writing his analyse.

Between Darr4n and your comments my team has improved a lot! The Rotom-W set change really made a difference on who walled me and who didn't. I think I will run Expert Belt Latios as that helps bluff the Specs/Scarf. The set is really good, thanks! And I admit, I already had change Gliscor to fully offensive :P

You have a large weakness to Ice types, so try to level out your weakness by replacing Latios, Gliscor, or Landorus. Heatran or Metagross could possibly work well for this team, since they could help cover your Ice weakness and fit into your Sandstorm theme. You also have a Water type weakness but it's not to serious, so if you do end up using Heatran, you'll have to balance him too, maybe with something like Ferrothorn. Just some ideas to try out and see if you like them, and hopefully this has opened your eyes to further possible weakness and strengths in your team.

Good Luck Burnt Panda
