This is a team I decided to make in response to kyurem being suspect tested in ou. Around that time, people were talking about bandnite, so I wanted to make a team around him as well. I decided to make a team for both of them at the same time.
Kyurem @ Expert Belt
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Flash Cannon
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Rock Slide
First off, the star of the show himself, kyurem, freeze dry for stab that hit waters, flash cannon for fairies, earth power for tran and rock slide to hit volcarona that try to setup on me. I chose expert belt over life orb and hdb for its extra power on super effective hits without taking hp, letting me fake a choice specs. I feel that eb is worth it on kyurem for its high base power and ability to hit alot of the metagame super effectively with its coverage.
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Dual Wingbeat
The wingman to kyurem on this team, dragonite. Choice band lets espeed be a dangerous cleanup tool, with dual wingbeat acting as stab. Eq is to hit pesky steels, with outrage being a powerful nuke to either target a specific threat, or cleanup late game once the opponent's steels and fairiws are gone. Inner focus is used over multiscale because dnite isn't wearing hdb, making it more vulnerable to losing its scale to stealth rock.
Magnezone @ Expert Belt
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 Def / 164 SpA / 92 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Body Press
- Flash Cannon
- Substitute
Magnezone is here to trap steel types like corv and Ferro who don't cane about kyurem and dnite very much. Flash cannon lets zone hit fairies and grounds, body press for Ferro, and tbolt for corv. Substitute lets zone beat Ferro without worrying about leech seed and other status effects, as well as getting an extra hit against threats like chomp and lando after it takes out the steel type. Eb is used to power up its attacks, but might be changed to leftovers for the passive recovery it brings.
Scizor @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Defog
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
The first defoger of the team, spdef scizor. Scizor acts as a pivot and switch in to special attacks. Bullet punch and u-turn for stab, roost for recovery, and defog to help support both kyurem and dnite.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
Scarf lando acts as the speed control of the team, which is pretty slow without him. Eq is the obvious stab move, knock letting lando get rid of opponents items, u-turn lets lando pivot, and stone edge to effectively hit flying types.
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Scald
- Draining Kiss
- Taunt
Finally, the second defoger of the team. Fini also acts as the shifu+weavile check of the team, which could plow through this team otherwise. Scald and draining kiss are the stabs for their utility over surf and moonblast, and taunt keeps opponents for setting up in fini's face.
One of the biggest weaknesses I've noticed is to banded shifu, despite fini being on the team.
