Doubles Kyurem

Pengu

BIG POE
is a Top Team Rater
Kyurem @ Assault Vest
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 128 HP / 128 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Blizzard
- Earth Power
- Freeze-Dry
- Flash Cannon

Kyurem freezes its foes in their tracks in Doubles OU! With Assault Vest and snow up, Kyurem becomes very difficult to take down while putting out consistent STAB damage with Blizzard and Freeze-Dry. The latter of those two is essential in hitting the tier's Water-types such as Ogerpon-W and Pelipper. Earth Power helps to hit foes like Gholdengo and Incineroar, while Flash Cannon does nicely against Diancie and opposing Kyurem. Tera Steel is necessary to defend Kyurem from Pokemon such as Diancie, Gholdengo, and Ogerpon-C. Kyurem pairs well with Alolan Ninetales, as Kyurem depends on snow to increase its bulk and deal good spread damage. This Defense buff also further strengthens Kyurem's positive matchup against Chien-Pao and Dragonite. Assault Vest Kyurem is also one of the best Pokemon against the common combination of Tornadus and Landorus, eating their special attacks and hitting hard with Ice-type STAB moves. Since this set aims to be as bulky as possible, recovery from allies like Rillaboom and Sinistcha can help achieve that. It does struggle heavily with Pokemon that resist its Ice-type attacks like Gholdengo, so allies like Incineroar are very helpful to take down these foes.

-Generally like this, just needs a bit more explanation of how Kyurem's viability is tied to the ice stab and being one of the best/most consistent blizzard clickers in the tier
-Probably mention snows positive matchup into common genies teams (Torn + Lando) and av kyurem being maybe the single best pokemon in the tier into this combination of two pokemon (like zee said on discord a few days ago)
-can also mention positive matchup into pao + dnite, probably in the section mentioning the pairing with Ninetales for the defense boost
-Should also mention the importance of freeze dry being able to hit ogerpon-wellspring
-other ice weaks in the tier could also be discussed (raging bolt, rilla, etc)
-Incineroar should definitely be mentioned in the earth power section, which could be maybe be expanded to note Earth Power's main use is for hitting the stuff Blizzard doesn't (ice ground coverage stuff creating pins)
-Glimmora and Diancie do not resist ice attacks (more important for their offensive pressure into Kyurem)
-Slightly less important but should probably include ground attackers like Ursaluna or Landorus under the partners section for further complimenting Kyurem by generally having good matchups into the mons you already mentioned (this is a fixture of basically every snow team in the tier)
