L'équipe de choc ! [OU-Team][RMT]

Hi, this is my new (first) team, which is designed to play in OU, sorry about the poor descriptions, my english is bad =/

Starter :

260.png

==========
Swampert
==========
Nature : Relaxed / Item : Leftovers
EVs : 236 HP / 216 Def / 56 Sp.Atk
Moveset :
-Stealth rock
-Ice beam
-Earthquake
-Roar

Comments : Typical starter, really bulky on the physical side, can counter many threats like Infernape,
I decided to play Roar over Avalanche because I already have good counters to Dragon type and its was
the only way to have a phaze move in my team, I can counter Ninjask or DDMence with this move and its
not really expected.

Sweepers :

==========
Gyarados
==========
Nature : Adamant / Item : Leftovers
EVs : 156 Hp/ 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe
Moveset :
-Dragon dance
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Taunt

Comments : Bulky Gyarados, I chose this set over standard DDancer because I will use this Gyarados to switch against some sweepers like Infernape, take the hit and set up a DD and sweep

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

===========
Infernape
===========
Nature : Mild / Item : Life Orb
EVs : 252 Sp.Atk / 220 Spe / 38 Atk
Moveset :
-Thunderbolt
-Flamethrower
-Cross chop
-Hidden power Grass

Comments : Electvire is a good mixed sweeper, I use it because I can have a free motor drive with Gyarados or T-Wave and sweep, very good type coverage, good counter to Blissey, Hidden power grass to kill Swampert and some Ground types.

========
Jirachi
========
Nature : Jolly / Item : Choice scarf
EVs : 252 Atk / 178 Spe / 80 Hp
Moveset :
-Iron head
-Fire punch
-Thunder Punch
-U-Turn

Comments : Jirachi is a great scarfer, I put in my team because Ive to kill all those Lucario and Scizors ruining my team, with the steel type, I dont fear both priority moves and outspeed them, I can switch when theyre setting a SD or attacking, taking the hit and kill them, Iron is a very useful STAB move, with Serene grace, it has a 60% Flinch, with Thunder punch, I can kill Gyarados after a DD easely and I use U-Turn to scout.

Walls :

==========
Cresselia
==========
Nature : Bold / Item : Leftovers
EVs : 252 Hp / 252 Def / 6 Sp.Atk
Moveset :
-Psychic
-Reflect
-Thunderwave
-Moonlight

Comments : Amazing physical wall, this guy is a beast, it can take hits from everywhere with Reflect,
with Thunderwave, you can stop an annoying sweeper, or you can set up a Reflect, you are really unpredictable,
with Moonlight, you can outstall any Physical Sweeper if it dont have 1 or 2 SD up, it can take hits from the
special side too.

========
Blissey
========
Nature : Bold / Item : Leftovers
EVs : 212 Hp / 252 Def / 40 Sp.Def
Moveset :
-Ice Beam / Flamethrower / Seismic Toss
-Toxic
-Aromatherapy / Protect
-Softboiled / Wish

Comments : Special wall, he can wall any special sweeper in the game and with Reflect, it can take some physical hits pretty well, I dont know if I wanna play Wish or Aromatherapy =/

-----------------------------------------------------

Synergy :

Maybe the biggest problem of my team, when Cresselia + Umberon is really good wall and has a great synergy. I dont feel any synergy between my sweepers and my walls, I mean, I dont have any sweeper I can put in game to kill the enemy, that's why Im posting my team here, I need to know how to get a better synergy in my team, but I DONT WANT to change my Walls, and I would like to keep Swampert if possible, I think the real problem of my team is the offensive part.

Thanks for helping me !

I understand what you're saying about the "getting sweepers into the game". I think that the problem might be how frail they are. Infernape and Jolteon both take heavy damage from even mid-level, neutral moves. You may need to just try and find spots in the match to safely bring them in through prediction.

I would, however, like to say that your team concept is a little... outdated. The whole sweeper/wall thing is a bit old. Things in the current metagame are a bit more mixed, as in bulky sweepers/tanks. That could also be a problem. Overall I think that your team is pretty good.

Hi,

this team is really massacred by both Scizor and Lucario: Scizor can come in for free on Cresselia and Umbreon and set up a SD or hit everything hard with a CB u-turn, Lucario can come in on Umbreon with impunity and set up a SD - and after a SD it can literally OHKO every member of your team.

Umbreon is definitely a risky choice in the current OU metagame: it's set-up fodder for a lot of Pokemons and has really little uses other than wish passing. Other than that, it makes a really poor defensive choice when paired with Cresselia, considering that both are weak to bug, and with Scizor being everywhere having two walls weak to bug moves is not advisable.

Now, the first thing that I suggest to change is really Umbreon, I believe that to compensate the Scizor and Lucario weakness you may add a rest-talk Gyarados, so:

Gyarados@leftovers
nature: impish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
-waterfall
-roar
-rest
-sleep talk

this pokemon has great durability and will force out both Scizor and Lucario, and with intimidate it can talke even super effective stone edges from pokemons like Infernape.

Now onto Jolteon: although its ability allows you to switch into thunder waves with impunity, it's too frail in my opinion to be a reliable revenge killer. I'd suggest to use a scarf Jirachi here:

Jirachi@choice scarf
nature: jolly
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
-iron head
-thunder punch
-fire punch
-u-turn

Jirachi is a lot more bulky than Jolteon and mainly resists both extremespeed and bullet punch, meaning that if for some reason you lose Gyarados, Scizor and Lucario won't be able to sweep your team. It can also switch into Gyarados on the predicted DD, without risking to be KO'd by a waterfall (if your opponent attacks instead of setting up). Finally, it has u-turn to scout your opponent, and it's a very useful move to have on a choice user.

Regarding Swampert, I'd suggest to make it relaxed and with this EV spread: 236 HP / 216 Def / 56 SpA, replacing waterfall with ice beam, this way you'll earn another check for Salamence and will be able to hit hard bulky grounds like Gliscor and Hippowdon.

GL!

Thanks,

I was already thinking about Gyarados but as a sweeper, it would be very easy to switch against something like Lucario or Infernape because they cant kill him easely but Im not sure about Gyarados bulkiness, even with intimidate.

And I thought about something to pair up with Gyarados, a great mixed or special sweeper, and I thought about Evire, it would be very easy to switch in and get a speed boost with Gyarados, what do you think about it ?

Also, I will remove Umbreon (*sigh*) and I will put Blissey, great special wall, good shared weaknesses, resistances,... but Ive a question :
I will run this set : Aromatherapy or Protect / Toxic / Attack or Protect / Wish or Softboiled
What is the best moveset to fit with my team ?
-Aromatherapy / Toxic / Special attack or Seismic Toss / Softboiled ?
-Aromatherapy / Toxic / Protect / Wish ?
-Attack / Toxic / Protect / Wish ?
-Attack / Toxic / Aromatherapy / Wish ?

Plz let me know which set you prefer

About Swampert now, if I put Gyarados with the same moves (Waterfall, Earthquake), it will not be useful, so Im looking for a nice phazer with Stealth rock and pretty bulky (no Hippowdon because of sandstream) as a starter.

Scarf Jirachi is a nice idea but, if I put Evire over Infernape, should I take Ice Punch instead of Thunderpunch ?

Don't use Blissey, she still makes you very weak to Scizor and Lucario... unless you plan on changing several members of your team.
Then, if you want to use Gyarados as a sweeper you need an offensive set or, at least, a bulky Gyara.
Now, you should update your post with the changes you are considering to make, so it would be easier for us to help you.
By the way, the Gyara-Vire combo is quite predictable nowadays, so I wouldn't suggest that.
Also, Swampert is a fine peseudo-hazer and a great lead, just be sure to make it relaxed with either ice beam or hydro pump to hit hard bulky ground pokemons and physical walls like Skarmory.

I used to use Umbreon for the lulz and found that as a wall, it has great synergy with Ghost pokes, so if you wanted to keep Umbreon, you might want to pair it with Rotom, as he is immune to Fighting and resists Bug and Umbreon resists Dark / Ghosts. But yeah, Umbreon is pretty much set up fodder for Lucario. Rotom with Overheat could help this though I guess.

@ FerrariCUBU: I love your YouTube vids, you rock Porygon2 out to the fullest.

Edited the whole team, I think that Jirachi can counter a Scizor if Im careful but I know its gonna be pretty hard, nearly no pokemon can counter Scizor easely

Fine, your team seems a lot more solid now. On Blissey go with the standard wish-bliss: toxic/flamethrower/wish/protect, so you may catch Scizor and Lucario on the switch in, while stille being able to support the team with wish passing.

GL!

May I say I'm impressed by your English?

(Only thing - you forgot to change Infernape to Electivire, but you changed the font color. Anyone's mistake.)

I agree with Wolfy on the Umbreon part - maybe because I am a bit of an Umbreon fan myself. Do not forget to mention what you plan on doing in regards to meeting a Focus Scarf Roserade lead - you can switch to Electivire, but you will still get a full set of Stealth Rocks put up against you. It is not a major problem for anyone in your team spare Gyarados, but it is something to remember, especially because you're using a Bulkydos.

From what I can see, your team has very good synergy. I personally haven't seen any Electivire/Gyarados combos in quite a while.
