Welcome everyone to the debut of a new project in this community: the Random Battles Ladder Achievements Project!
As we all know, grinding for hours and hours on ladders is one of the favorite activities of the people in this community and it's finally time to have a dedicated project that hopes to create something cool and fun for everyone involved.

Last week of the LAP and Community Choice!

It is the last week of the first Ladder Achievements Project! Last week we had some challenges that have been cleared by pretty much everyone but we also had a moment that was bound to happen: we had to rework a challenge (Underrated) that ended up being too difficult to complete.

Hopefully we have learned from our mistakes for this week, which includes a challenge that is the direct result of a Community Choice! The original plan was to turn the Community Choice into the Side Quest of the week, but given the nature of the proposal, we thought it would be better to "just" have it as a Fun Challenge instead. Thanks and congrats to AtlasNeo for the suggestion (now you gotta try to clear it as well :p)!

And now, without further ado, let's take a look at what week 3 has in store for the players!

Climber:
Reach 1st place on the Hyperblitz ladder

Specifics: There are no specifics for this challenge

Win Streak: Win at least 15 matches in a row with a fresh account

Specifics: "Fresh account" means we'll only consider the results coming from profiles registered on August 4th or beyond
You are allowed to clear your w-l record of your account and try again until you clear the challenge. Just use a "fresh" account

Mark of Mastery: Reach at least 1520 elo on the Hyperblitz ladder

Specifics: There are no specifics for this challenge

1755510683611.png

Magician: Trick an item 5 times and proceed to win the match(es)

Minimum elo of your opponent: 1100
- Switcheroo also counts
- The move needs to be successful: trying to use Trick on a Pokemon whose item can't be removed won't count
- Using the move when you are itemless counts as long as you are receiving an item in exchange
- Clicking the move multiple times per match and using it successfully does count

Tera-stunt: Win 5 matches with no use of terastalization

Minimum elo of your opponent: 1200
- The opponent can obviously use tera, it's just you who can't
- About forfeits: we'll accept replays where the opponent forfeits before the match is over as long as you get at least 4 kills before the forfeit

Shiny Hunter: Spot at least 3 shiny Pokemon in the battles you'll play on the ladder

Minimum elo of your opponent: -
- You don't have to necessarily win games to clear this challenge
- Shiny Pokemon of the opponents count

Death by Water: Get 3 kills with a water move used by a Water Type Pokemon with the item Choice Specs

Minimum elo of your opponent: 1100
- Pokemon acquiring the water type via tera do not count
- You don't have to win matches
- Indirect ko (via status, hazards, recoil etc.) do not count
- For the reference, here are the water types that can hold Choice Specs in Gen 9 Hyperblitz:
:basculegion: :clawitzer: :golduck: :greninja: :inteleon:
:keldeo: :lanturn: :lapras: :ludicolo: :palkia:
:pelipper: :politoed: :primarina: :volcanion: :walking wake:

Weather Forecast: Win 2 matches where there are at least 2 different types of weather on the field

Minimum elo of your opponent: 1150
- The compatible weathers are: rain, sun, sand, snow
- It doesn't matter if the weather is triggered thanks to a move or an ability. The important thing is to see the weather on screen
- The weather triggered by the opponents does count

Luigi wins... : Win a match after not picking a move for the first 5 turns

Minimum elo of your opponent: 1200
- The 5th turn is included, so you can start clicking your moves from turn 6 onwards
- Please do !showteam at the end of the match so we can see that the moves you (didn't) pick for the first 5 turns were actually the first in the pokemon's movesets
- The same logic applies to switching: if your Pokemon gets ko'd or it clicks a pivot move by default, don't pick your next Pokemon but let Auto Choose do it for you

Eevolutionist: Be the quickest player to win 1 match with each Eevolution!

Specifics:
- All the compatible pokemon need to touch the field
- Having two or more eevolutions on your team does count
- Do NOT send replays in this thread but instead share them to 35Q71N via private message on Smogon or on Discord (fran35q71n). Similarly to the Chien-Pao challenge, the idea is to not reveal who is provisionally
- Needless to say, the Pokemon compatible with this achievement are the 8 eevolutions:

The deadline for the Side Quest is set on Sunday 24th at 11:59 pm GMT +1 (midnight UK time)

General Rules

Here are some general guidelines we have reprised from other LAPs and adapted to the current project:

  1. All battles must take place on the Spotlight Ladder on Pokemon Showdown.
  2. Please give proof that you completed the challenge to validate your achievement. Our preferred way to do so is by sending replays in the dedicated thread. This is particularly true for the Fun Challenges, while screenshots are normally better to show you have cleared the Standard Challenges. In any case, hosts will specify how to submit the results in case of very unique challenges.
  3. You can get several achievements from the same battle/account, unless explicitly stated otherwise. I'll like your post once I've taken it into account.
  4. Achievements can be submitted in PM to me if you want the account you used to remain inconspicuous; I will be posting them in the thread (giving your Smogon username) myself. Please only do it as little as possible though; it's less fun.
  5. Past performances will not be counted; any submission needs to be verifiable on the server (by checking at the rank, WL, and such) at the moment they are posted. I.e. if the LAP starts on August 4th, you can't send a screenshot of you topping the ladder on August 1st to claim one of the Standard Challenges.
  6. You are obviously allowed to update your posts to showcase you have improved your records on the ladder (this is especially important for the Standard Challenges but it could also involve other challenges) as long as you do so before the deadline.
  7. Naturally, don't try to cheat, for instance by submitting an achievement with an account that's not yours and yours alone. In addition to that, don't mass forfeit games on the ladder just to speed up the process of obtaining the achievements. If caught doing so, you might get exposed and made fun of (but also infracted of course).
  8. Achievement levels may be subject to change at host's discretion.

The Prizes
:serperior: Standard Challenges: The person with the most Standard Challenges won is going to get room prize winner in the Random Battles room for one month. In case of tie, that reward will go to the person who has registered the highest peak elo.

:arbok: Fun Challenges: Everyone who clears all the Fun Challenges of a specific week will gain 3 tokens to be used to start a tournament in the Random Battles room. If no one clears all the challenges, we'll give 2 tokens to the person(s) who have gotten the most achievements.

:sandaconda: Side Quests: For the Side Quests, the idea is to have a predetermined set of unique prizes that will be randomly assigned to the winners of the challenges. People won't know these prizes in advance but they will have to wait for the last week, when the results of the roll will get publicly announced.

Deadlines

The deadline for the Standard Challenges and Fun Challenges is set on the midnight of Sunday 24th, according to your timezone. If you get an achievement when it's still Sunday for you but Monday for the hosts, just send us a screenshot to prove the validity of the result

For this week, the deadline of the Side Quest is set on Sunday 24th at 11:59 pm GMT +1 (midnight UK time)
