XY OU Landorus-T and Lopunny Literally Dropping the Metagame

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 244 Atk / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Smack Down
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
Smacking down chumps for days. The hazard setter whos job is to smack down common switch-ins such as skarm, rotom, and other landorus's which allows it to weaken them for the bunch. U-turn of course for pivoting predicting a switch after the initial Smack Down. Earthquake is the main event because after a Smack down nothing is safe.

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Defog
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Earthquake
Offensive Latios with earthquake to switch into Heatran and weaken it so my Lopunny won't have to go for high jumpkick. The defog is appreciated by Lando-T who gets worn down easily as well as Tyranitar who's needed to check peacocks and doves :P

Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Scrappy
Happiness: 0
EVs: 60 HP / 252 Atk / 196 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Encore
- High Jump Kick
- Power-up Punch
- Frustration
The mega and Bisharp check. I decided to give Lopunny a little hp investment to help it take more hits as well as hazard damage. Encore is this teams way of dealing with Skarmory who can be set up on on a predicted stealth rock.

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Earthquake
- Return
Excadrill helps check Clef who is a pretty big threat to the team. Sand Rush pairs well with Tyranitar which can make Excadrill a potential win condition. The first move slot is a toss up between SD or Rapid spin and I decided to go with the SD to make Excadrill more of a threat and help weaken walls to help ease Lopunny.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake
Once again running my favorite scarf mon to check bird spam. Scarf tar also helps with Bisharp who can't OHKO this with sucker even +6 life orb is a roll hehe. Rock slide>Stone Edge so you won't miss against Talonflame. Earthquake is good for nailing Heatran without worrying about the drops from Superpower which can turn Tyranitar into set-up bait.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Giga Drain
- Baton Pass
- Heal Bell
The support of the team and helps this team deal with powerful water types namely Keldeo. Baton Pass is to avoid getting trapped by Bish or Tyranitar. Heal Bell allows you to play a little more reckless with the physical sweepers. Giga Drain is to give Rotom-W a reason to wanna switch and recover is to reliable keep Celebi healthy.

Summary: A pretty decent team if I do say so myself. In the beginning this team actually had a completely different idea it was originally supposed to be SD spam with Garchomp, Bisharp, and Gallade as well as SD baton Passing Celebi, but it had too many weaknesses namely Talonflame.

Once again I'd very much appreciate any suggestions! Please help this struggling team builder xD

Hi there, really cool team you got! I really loved the Landorus-T move set, especially with the use of Smack Down to help nail the common switch-ins to Landorus-T! However one thing I noticed is the use of Moldbreaker Excadrill with Sandstorm Tyranitar, I'll suggest changing Moldbreaker into Sand Rush so that you can use it as a sweeper in the sand. Also, seeing how you have enough bird checks like Landorus-T with Stealth Rocks and Smack Down and a Tyranitar, you may try and consider removing Rock Slide on Excadrill and change it into Return/Frustration. With Swords Dance and Frustration, it allows you to still hit Rotom-W hard.

+2 252+ Atk Life Orb Excadrill Return vs. 248 HP / 216+ Def Rotom-W: 230-272 (75.9 - 89.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

With or without the changes, your team might struggle against Skarmory as only Landorus-T after a Smack Down can touch it. So I'll actually recommend the Encore + Power Up Punch for Mega Lopunny instead of Fake Out + Drain Punch/High Jump Kick.

Lastly, it would be to change the IVs for your Latios back to 31Speed, 31SpA and 31Attack. I think you used to run Hidden Power Fire that's why the IVs were changed :]

Thanks for the response! I really like the changes made to Excadrill making him more of a threat in the sand. I also dig the Encore, Power-up Punch Lopunny really nice set and can nab a free boost on predicted stealth rocks. As for the IV change on Latio LOL thanks for telling me.
