[OVERVIEW]

Landorus stands out as the most threatening special attacker in the format. Blessed with Sheer Force and a Ground typing, Landorus decimates many metagame threats such as Incineroar, Diancie, and Metagross, with its outright power significantly chunking even bulky neutral switch-ins like Mew and Porygon2. Its base 101 Speed is just enough to pin down nearly the entire unboosted metagame, letting it get the jump on Mew, Urshifu-R, and Zygarde while only being outrun and threatened by Nihilego, Naganadel, and Dragapult. However, Landorus offers very little defensive utility in disadvantaged positions against opposing speed control, is vulnerable to Ice- and Water-type attacks from the likes of Porygon2 and Tapu Fini, an is relatively frail, leaving it easily OHKOed by the aforementioned three faster threats. Tailwind teammates mitigate this weakness, with Naganadel in particular also matching up well against Assault Vest Kyurem-B, Tapu Fini, and Rillaboom, which Landorus can struggle against. Landorus can also struggle against particular bulky threats that it can't outright OHKO such as Porygon2, Celesteela, and Assault Vest Kyurem-B, which each punish it accordingly. Urshifu-R, Metagross, and Heatran are good example teammates to account for them.

[SET]
name: Special Attacker
move 1: Earth Power
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Substitute / Psychic
move 4: Protect
item: Life Orb
ability: Sheer Force
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

* Earth Power is very strong with boosts from Sheer Force and Life Orb, in particular being handy for key metagame threats such as Incineroar, Metagross, and Diancie.

* Sludge Bomb hits Grass-types that can switch in on and resist Earth Power such as Rillaboom and Tsareena, and it's also useful against Tapu Fini.

* Substitute lets Landorus punish Protect and switches, providing a buffer from Fake Out and otherwise lethal blows, while Psychic comes in handy for hitting opposing Landorus and nailing Amoonguss.

* Protect gives Landorus safety for a turn, handy for stalling out field conditions such as Tailwind and Trick Room, as well as maintaining board position while teammates switch accordingly.

* Life Orb and Sheer Force maximize Landorus's offensive potential, with Timid being key for outrunning threats such as Urshifu-R, Genesect, and Mew.

Focus Blast can be handy to hit Celesteela, which otherwise completely walls Landorus, and is also nifty as a super effective option against Porygon2 and Kyurem-B, though its narrow applications and unreliability make it unappealing. Similarly to Substitute, Stealth Rock can be useful to punish a switch or Protect, but Landorus is typically better off attacking, which Substitute better enables. Choice Scarf is a viable alternative set, as it can let Landorus lure in and surprise KO faster threats such as Nihilego, Naganadel, and Dragapult, and Landorus still has enough damage without Life Orb to be a decent general Choice Scarf attacker. However, it must be used cautiously, as threats like Rillaboom will easily punish it locking into Earth Power. Rillaboom resists Earth Power, can flinch Landorus with Fake Out, and can get around its Speed advantage with Grassy Glide.

[OVERVIEW]
  • I have a slight feeling this might not be allowed fsr, but I feel like it may be important to mention how some pokemon it might otherwise threaten can run Shuca Berry and OHKO it in return ("susceptible to be lured" might work here). This one is entirely up to you though.
  • Another thing thats up to you is mentioning Zygarde as competition. One is obviously better than the other and im not 100% sold on it to begin with, but I thought it was worth suggesting.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • Looks good.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • You use nifty in all 3 lines. Mix it up imo.
  • Mention how exploitable Landorus can be when locked into a move for the Choice Scarf line.

phenomenal work as always.

[OVERVIEW]
  • It should be explicitly stated that Landorus struggles against bulkier Pokemon which can tank its attacks (particularly Ground resists/immunities). Right now it sounds too much like you're saying Landorus only really struggles against Pokemon which move first, which is not the case, as evidenced by later wanting checks for those bulky Pokemon.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • The order of the points about Psychic and Substitute should be swapped to match the set.
  • Blocking Fake Out is a huge plus for Substitute, I'd also mention how it takes advantage of Landorus' ability to force Protects/switches.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Mention Kyurem-B alongside Porygon2 as targets for Focus Blast.
  • Stealth Rock should be compared to Substitute, since they both fulfil the same role of taking advantage of Protect/switches.
  • Mention Rillaboom especially takes advantage of Choice Scarf, that's by far the biggest reason the set isn't better.

* Earth Power is Landorus's primary attacking option, as with boosts from Sheer Force and Life Orb, it dishes out significant amounts of damage, very strong with boosts from Sheer Force and Life Orb, in particular being handy for key metagame threats such as Incineroar, Metagross, and Diancie.

* Sludge Bomb hits Grass-types that can switch in on and resist Earth Power such as Rillaboom and Tsareena, the super effective coverage also coming in and it's also useful against Tapu Fini.

* Substitute lets Landorus punish Protect and switches, (AC) as it provides a buffer to protect providing a buffer from Fake Out and otherwise lethal blows, while Psychic comes in handy for hitting opposing Landorus as well as for having super effective coverage against and nailing Amoonguss.

* Protect gives Landorus safety for a turn, handy for stalling out field conditions such as Tailwind and Trick Room, (AC) as well as for maintaining board (if possible, using a non-doubles-exclusive word(s) here is ideal. if not, though, just keep it) position while teammates switch accordingly.

* Life Orb, Sheer Force, and full investment on Speed and Special Attack aim to Life Orb and Sheer Force maximize Landorus's offensive potential, with Timid being key for outrunnng outrunning threats such as Urshifu-R, Genesect, and Mew.
