Because of the Easter-themed tour, I decided to make a new team yesterday. It works on and off, and have played a few times, and would appreciate suggestions.
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
She's my first standard wall, and does what all Chanseys do; be as much as a pain to the opponent as possible by walling hits. Aromatherapy is nice to get rid of nasty statuses like Burn and Paralysis which can give my team problems, and gets a safe switch to Aegi on a Ghost move. Although the ability to switch to Aegi is a bit lost, as she can't do anything to it.
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Psyshock
I find Slowbro to be an amazing partner with Chansey, as he soaks up a bunch of physical moves that could still be somewhat problematic. He counters things like Garchomp relatively well, and is just a pain to kill because of how much it can recover. Even though KO is SE against him, he does just fine without the Lefties and the big chunk taken out of his HP
Mienshao @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- Poison Jab
- U-turn
Mienshao was a favorite of mine from Gen 5, so I decided to see what it could offer. It does surprisingly well. Forces switches from Tyrannitar and Bisharp, giving fun with U-Turn + Regenerator. It is a bit on the fragile side, and could be a bid faster, but it does a good job at smashing holes in teams and later cleaning up.
Manectric @ Manectite
Ability: Lightningrod
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Flamethrower
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Mega Manectric might just be my new favorite Mega. Timid nature allows it to outspeed Greninja if already Mega'd, which is quite a feat (and not a feat many people seem to know in the lower tiers, making it decimate Greninja), and does a good job at having some Volt-Turn fun with Mienshao. It does surprisingly well against many things, making it a good all-around pokemon for killing things
Chandelure @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Calm Mind
Chandy was my favorite pokemon from Gen V, and one of my top 6 favorite pokemon ever, so I decided to try him out about a month ago. I was not disappointed whatsoever. If this thing gets up even just one CM, it can be GG on the spot. It rounds out the coverage for my attackers, blasts holes in teams, and if in the right situations can just be incredibly fun yet effective, which is what I want from a team.
Cresselia (F) @ Light Clay
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Def
Calm Nature
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Lunar Dance
- Thunder Wave
Cresselia was thrown in as a sixth member, because when I was creating this team I had no idea what to make my sixth member. I asked the OU chat for a good Dual Screener, because I had some frail pokemon so I figured having one could help. One of the suggestions was Cresselia, so I tried it out and it is fun to use. While it is set-up fodder as it has no means of attack, it lets Chandy set up CM, and makes Manectric and Mienshao seem a lot more threatening. Plus, Lunar Dance allows to bring back an almost gone sweeper, which basically assures victory late game.
Now, if you go through my team you might spot one very large and bad weakness to Aegislash. The best I have to countering it is KO Mienshao and Flamethrower Manectric. I would greatly appreciate a tip to help deal with the stupid thing, as it can do a lot of damage really quickly, and having to sacrifice 2 or 3 members to take down one pokemon is not a good thing.
