Choice Scarf Latias is an effective form of speed control that sets itself apart from other Pokemon the same role, such as Choice Scarf Galarian Zapdos, with its unique utility options. Draco Meteor serves as its main STAB attack, letting Latias revenge kill most neutral targets such as Meowscarada and opposing Latias. Psyshock is a more spammable STAB move that also lets it clean weakened teams and threaten Fighting-types as well as Iron Moth. Psychic is very similar, trading a chance to OHKO Iron Moth for a 2HKO on Iron Hands and a slightly higher damage output against most neutral targets. Healing Wish is especially helpful to bulky Pokemon that lack reliable recovery such as Iron Hands and Tapu Fini. It can also grant offensive Pokemon like Mega Tyranitar another opportunity to sweep or wallbreak. Trick is Latias's preferred fourth move, allowing it to cripple otherwise unbreakable foes such as Blissey and Chansey. An alternative is Mystical Fire, which lets Latias threaten the Steel-types that resist its STAB combination, like Iron Treads and Excadrill. Its Special Attack-lowering effect makes it especially useful against certain boosting threats such as Autotomize Celesteela. Defog is another alternative, letting Latias clear hazards for its team; however, the fact that Latias loses to most Stealth Rock users such as Mega Tyranitar and Excadrill makes it somewhat unreliable in this role. Thunderbolt targets Celesteela and Skarmory. Latias fits best on bulky offense and balance teams that want a revenge killer and appreciate Latias's utility. Latias struggles the most against special walls like Blissey and Slowking, making physical wallbreakers such as Meowscarada and Galarian Zapdos mandatory partners. Fighting-types such as Buzzwole are useful to threaten Mega Tyranitar, which takes minimal damage from Latias's attacks and can trap it with Pursuit; they can also take out Steel-types like Excadrill and Iron Treads, something especially important if Latias forgoes Mystical Fire. Latias's ability to force in and cripple special walls with Trick makes a good partner for special attackers like Serperior and Clefable.
