VGC Latios GP [1/1]

[SET]

Offensive (Latios) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Luster Purge
- Protect
- Icy Wind
- Draco Meteor

[SET COMMENTS]
Latios is an offensive Pokemon with speed control that sets itself apart by being a check to Amoonguss, Urshifu-R, and Koraidon, being able to OHKO them with Soul Dew-boosted Luster Purge and wall the latter two. Icy Wind is a really good last move on Latios because it provides speed control for Latios and its partners to take advantage of while also breaking opposing Focus Sash. The aforementioned Soul Dew helps Latios get the crucial KOs it needs to against foes such as Amoonguss and Koraidon with Luster Purge. Tera Steel is preferred on Latios because it lets it completely wall Calyrex-I and Landorus while providing resistances to Flutter Mane's Moonblast, Chien-Pao Ice STAB, and Miraidon's Draco Meteor.

Latios, even with Tera Steel, still struggles against Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Chi-Yu, and Incineroar due to their ability to threaten Latios before Terastallization with Astral Barrage, Dark Pulse, and Knock Off, respectively. In addition, these Pokemon also threaten Latios after Tera with another STAB move. Dark-types that have Sucker Punch, such as Chien-Pao, help Latios deal with Calyrex-S by KOing it before it can attack. Wide Guard users such as Zamazenta-C and Pelipper can also help Latios in the Calyrex-S matchup by protecting Latios from Astral Barrage, forcing Calyrex-S to use Draining Kiss, Psyshock, or Psychic, all of which Tera Steel Latios resists. Both Pelipper and Zamazenta-C threaten to OHKO Chi-Yu and Incineroar, and, in Zamazenta-C's case, OHKO Flutter Mane with Heavy Slam. Latios also provides for its partners by countering Koraidon, which Zamazenta-C struggles against, and Urshifu-R, which Chien-Pao struggles against. The other way Latios helps its partners is by lowering the Speed of their foes with Icy Wind, which lets Chien-Pao outspeed Speed Booster Energy Flutter Mane and Zamazenta-C outspeed Miraidon.

Paragraph 1
(Probably mention what role Latios does overall before going into certain matchups. Is it a support mon, is it an attacker?) Latios excels at being at being a check to Amoonguss, being able to OHKO it with Soul Dew boosted Luster Purge, and if Amoonguss Terastallizes into Water, have a favorable chance to 2HKO it thanks to the Special Defense drop from Luster Purge. The aforementioned Soul Dew, despite not being as powerful as Life Orb, not only doesn't cause Latios to take recoil, but also still gets the crucial KOs it needs to (Such as? Also sounds a bit like dex info). Tera Steel is preferred on Latios due to helping it completely walling Landorus, as well as providing helpful resistances to Dragon and Fairy, which are really good in a format with Flutter Mane and Koraidon (Mention moves that it resists like Flutter Mane's Moonblast and Miraidon's Draco Meteor, 1/29 Koraidon at LA ran a dragon move too).

Paragraph 2
Latios, even with Tera Steel, still struggles against Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Flutter Mane, and Incineroar due to their ability to threaten Latios before and after Tera (With?). Powerful dark types that have Sucker Punch, such as Chien-Pao and Moltres-Galar (1/7 Moltres-G at LA ran sucker) help Latios deal with Calyrex-S by KO'ing before it can attack. Wide Guard Pokémon such as Zamazenta-C and Pelipper can also help Latios in the matchup against Calyrex-S by at least making Calyrex-S not want to click Astral Barrage (This makes it sound like Calyrex-S is still a threat, maybe mention that Latios after Tera resists Draining Kiss and Wide Guard protects it from Astral Barrage). It also helps that both Pelipper and Zamazenta-C threaten Incineroar with an potential OHKO, and in Zamazenta-C's case, OHKO's Flutter Mane with Heavy Slam.

Would like to have a look once the following is implemented before I can mark this as QC 1/2.

(2HKOing doesn't really matter when you get Spored or redirected for a second turn, and don't see how 50% is favorable assuming this is Sitrus Berry Amoonguss. Also, why should it use Icy Wind?) The aforementioned Soul Dew, despite not being as powerful as Life Orb, not only doesn't cause Latios to take recoil, but also still gets the crucial KOs it needs to such as Amoonguss, Offensive Tornadus, and Koraidon (while using Luster Purge) (Don't need to bring up Life Orb, just highlight the OHKOs Soul Dew offers.). Tera Steel is preferred on Latios due to completely walling Calyrex-I (Significantly more relevant.) Landorus, as well as providing resistances to Dragon and Fairy, which is really good into a format with Flutter Mane's Moonblast and Miraidon's Draco Meteor.

Latios, even with Tera Steel, still struggles against Pokémon like Calyrex-S, Flutter Mane, (Not exactly, Chi-Yu and Sacred Sword Zacian are much more problematic. Consider also mentioning Calyrex-I if you want to keep Calyrex-S) and Incineroar due to their ability to threaten Latios before and after Tera with Astral Barrage, Shadow Ball, and Knock Off/Flare Blitz respectively. Dark types that have Sucker Punch, such as Chien-Pao help Latios deal with Calyrex-S by KO'ing before it can attack. (Bring up how they also handle Chi-Yu, Also highlight how Latios helps them, walling and threatening Koraidon to help Zamazenta-C, walling Urshifu-R's STAB moves and threatening it, benefitting Chien-Pao,

The aforementioned Soul Dew helps Latios get the crucial KOs it needs to against foes such as Amoonguss, Koraidon with Luster Purge and offensive Tornadus with Draco Meteor. (you're supposed to talk about soul dew after you talk about moves (icy wind in this case.) Also is offensive torn not just sash torn which lives a hit?) Icy Wind is a really good last move on Latios because it provides speed control for Latios and its partners to take advantage of while also breaking opposing Pokemon's Focus Sash (basically just a reason to use it over twind). Tera Steel is preferred on Latios because it lets it completely wall Calyrex-I and Landorus while providing resistances to Flutter Mane's Moonblast, Chien-Pao's Ice STAB, and Miraidon's Draco Meteor.

Latios, even with Tera Steel, still struggles against Pokemon like Calyrex-S, Calyrex-I, Chi-Yu, Zacian-C, and Incineroar (you talk about with tera steel, but with tera steel latios walls their main sets? Main zacian is play rough behemoth sd protect; also just too many examples imo) due to their ability to threaten Latios before Terastallization with Astral Barrage, Glacial Lance, Dark Pulse, Play Rough, and Knock Off, respectively. (remove the moves of the mons I talked about b4) In addition, these Pokemon also threaten Latios after Tera with Heat Wave, Sacred Sword, Flare Blitz, and, to an extent, Astral Barrage. (feels like you're just talking about why these mons beat latios when it's pretty obvious, just type mu's or wtvr) Dark-types that have Sucker Punch, such as Chien-Pao, help Latios deal with Calyrex-S by KOing before it can attack. Wide Guard users such as Zamazenta-C and Pelipper can also help Latios in the Calyrex-S matchup by protecting Latios from Astral Barrage, forcing Calyrex-S to use Draining Kiss, Psyshock, or Psychic, (not really the most relevant examples, might just be me nitpicking though) all of which Tera Steel Latios either resists. (talk about how this also helps vs caly-I, allowing it to not have to commit tera to wall it)Both Pelipper and Zamazenta-C threaten to OHKO Chi-Yu and Incineroar, and, in Zamazenta-C's case, OHKOes Flutter Mane with Heavy Slam. Latios also provides for its partners too, by countering Koraidon, which Zamazenta-C struggles against, and Urshifu-R, which Chien-Pao struggles against. (any specific icy wind speed tiers latios helps w/?)
