[OVERVIEW]

  • Incredible special attack supported by an amazing speed tier
  • A good mix up of coverage moves allows it to hit almost anything it wants with super effective damage.
  • Acess to a plethora of support moves like Defog and Memento
  • Can check a lot of offensive and defensive Pokemon, including Tomohawk, Cyclohm, Crucibelle, Keldeo and a lot more.
  • Psychic is not the best attacking STAB out there and dark types are immune, which can then pursuit trap them

Moves
========

  • Draco Meteor hits very hard and can 2HKO plenty of Pokemon
  • Psyshock can hits special walls like Chansey and Mollux
  • Hidden Power Fire hits steel types who can switch in on Latios' STABs like Scizor and Ferrothorn
  • Grass Knot hits walls who also resist or don't take much from Latios' STABs like Colossoil and Slowbro-mega
  • Roost gives Latios longevity and allows it to check more threats like Slowbro-mega and Chansey more reliably. It also makes sure it isn't worn down by Life Orb easily.
  • Earthquake lures in Heatran, arguably Latios' best counter and 2HKOs it
  • Defog capitalizes on switches, helped by its immunity to 3 forms of hazards and its ability to force a lot of Pokemon to switch
Set Details
========

  • Life Orb boosts the damage output of Latios, making it harder to switch into
  • Timid lets it speed tie with common threats it can outspeed and kill like Gengar, other Latios' and Latias, but it is worth noting that when running Hidden Power Fire, you will not be able to outspeed these Pokemon.
  • Max Special Attack and Max Speed allow Latios to be as speedy and Powerful Attacker as possible to limit the number of switchins it has
  • Levitate is useful for choiced Pokemon who are locked into earthquake, however it must be known that Excadrill's Mold Breaker and Kyurem-B's Terravolt hits through levitate

Usage Tips
========
  • Switch in whenever possible when there are rocks up and it isn't threatened out by the opposing Pokemon
  • Watch out for Pursuit trappers, namely Colossoil and Weavile and try to switch out if you think they will switch in.
  • If you are running Roost, keep Latios relatively healthy at all times, so it can come in time and time again and Defog
  • Latios is typically a very hit-and-run Pokemon, so make sure you switch often and support Latios (and his team) through Defog regularly

Team Options
========

  • Pokemon that can take down common Pursuit users like offensive Tomohawk, Rotom-Wash and Keldeo benefit your team by getting rid of the two biggest abusers of Pursuit; Weavile and Colossoil.
  • Bulky Pivots who can constantly heal off damage and synergize well with Latios like Tomohawk and Rotom-Wash
  • A Pokemon who counter Fairy Pokemon like Mollux or Plasmanta, Mollux takes a more offensive Approach by blasting through Fairies with choice scarf, although it can take a defensive set with Special Defense investment whereas Plasmanta breaks stall better with Encore and Taunt

Moves
========
  • Calm Mind lets Lartios blast though most of its defensive checks after a +1 boost, allowing him to wallbreak very well
  • Psyshock
  • Draco Meteor hits extreemly hard and can take care of a lot of Pokemon, even when Latios is uninvested. Dragon Pulse can be used as a more spammable Dragon-type STAB however the power loss is very noticable and it is usually only used to hit physical walls and Dragon-types hard
  • Roost
  • Surf

Set Details
========

  • Max Special Attack Max Speed Timid

Usage Tips

Very roughtly spread out will work on it bit by bit.

[[QUESTIONS - WILL CHANGE AS AWNSERED TIME]]
Does Specs and Scarf deserve a set all to themselves?
Leftovers worth mentioning in CM?
Should Special attacker be changed to "Offensive Defog"?

I believe that Scarf latios might be something to add in its own set. Although it isn't very common it still holds value; as for Leftovers I would also give it a mention in Calm Mind set. Offensive Defog imo seems more proffesional then just pointing out something everyone knows latios does.

Grass Knot under OO as a way to hit Colossoil, Hippowdon, and (Mega) Slowbro, more reliably than Draco Meteor. Niche, yes, but it lets you do these things:

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 0 HP / 176 SpD Assault Vest Colossoil: 239-283 (58.7 - 69.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
This forces the Colossoil to predict now; Pursuit, or Sucker Punch, or switch? Note, however, it only works if you predict the switchin.

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. +1 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Slowbro: 229-270 (58.1 - 68.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Life Orb Latios Grass Knot (100 BP) vs. +2 252 HP / 0 SpD Mega Slowbro: 172-203 (43.6 - 51.5%) -- 6.6% chance to 2HKO
You can switch into Mega Slowbro and actually beat it if it Calm Mind on your switch-in.

252 SpA Life Orb Latios Grass Knot (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 112 SpD Hippowdon: 385-455 (91.6 - 108.3%) -- 50% chance to OHKO
Hippowdon is straight up beaten, even if it uses Slack Off on your Draco Meteor 1v1.

It's not the best option in the world, but that Colossoil bit is notable enough to lure it in and 2HKO it, which draco meteor cannot do. So you ought to put in near the bottom of the list.

I'm not quite sold on renaming the first set "Offensive Defog" since 3 Attacks + Roost is plenty viable as a set. Having both additional coverage and the ability to heal off damage on forced switches can prove useful for Latios on more balance-oriented teams, which can usually afford to run a spinner. 3 Attacks + Roost isn't really different enough from Defog Latios to warrant its own set though. They run the same item/nature/spread and they play pretty similarly; it really just comes down to whether or not Latios is required to Defog for the team, which isn't always the case. My suggestion for the slashing:

move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Hidden Power Fire / Grass Knot / Roost
move 4: Defog / Roost

This slashing covers the main variants of the set pretty well (3 Attacks + Defog, 3 Attacks + Roost, STAB + Defog + Roost). There are plenty of moves that can work well as the third attack (HP Fire, Grass Knot, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Surf off the top of my head), and it really boils down to which Pokemon Latios is needed to lure or weaken for its teammates. HP Fire and Grass Knot are a bit more consistently useful from my experience, but I wouldn't be opposed to a different layout for the third moveslot if other QC members feel differently.

I know you've literally just started this, but don't forget two important moves:

Earthquake hits Heatran.
Grass Knot makes Latios a fun lure for Colossoil.

As for your questions, I'm not sure which way to go with Scarf. Leftovers can definitely get a mention in Calm Mind though.

Aaaaand Ex and spark just sniped me, so...

I support spark's third moveslot, but I'd give a much stronger mention of Earthquake in moves than Surf and Tbolt, though the latter are still important.

Yeah that's what I meant by a strong mention. Also spark mentioned Surf and Tbolt for LO. If Surf and Tbolt get any notable kills, mention those too. If Draco / Psyshock / HP Fire / Grass Knot / etc. do better whatever Surf and Tbolt do, I wouldn't mention them.
