Latitran Core
Introduction:
Hi Smogon, this is my second serious RMT here, my first one being an old VGC team, Team Mamoswine. the reason I bring it up even though you play completely different in VGC and 6v6 the similarities between these two teams could be seen.I coulda waited till i reached at least 2000 with this but i Honestly could not wait to put this up so i rushed to 1800 as quick as possible seeing as that was a decent rank to put this up at. I am not going to make that long of an introduction because of how I am going to present this RMT, so here is the team.Team Progression

obviously this team started with how Latios and Heatran cover each other so well so i went off of that as my core. Now this core needed a pokemon that can kill most other Latios because thats really the only real threat to this

I decided to go with Mamoswine for the soul purpose of killing Dragons, and also I had tons of experience with Scarf Mamo. Now that i have a main my main physical poke and I have a Latios as my Special Hitter, I need a wall breaker and a poke that can para other pokes for these two to run through everything.

I saw that as the perfect opportunity to have Thundurus on my team as he was an amazing poke against electric types as well he would fit this team well. Now I just needed two pokes that would support this team decently well.

Tyranitar supports now three other pokes with its sandstorm ability and its an amazing DDancer as well, then landorus is just great at being an intimimon. Now looking at this team i had a humongous water weakness i had to pay attention to.

This was the biggest change in the team so far as three members got switched out. To add more bulk against water I decided to add Keldeo and Latias to the mix. Conkeldurr was a pokemon also to replace Landorus which i had to say handled the same situations as Landorus but in a better fashion. Now I believed the team was good but after about a little Laddering Keldeo just was not doing it's job.

Changes are in red

Ability: Prankster
EVs: 8 HP / 244 SAtk / 8 SDef / 248 Spd
Timid Nature
- Focus Blast

- Hidden Power [Ice]

- Thunderbolt

- Thunder Wave

Thundurus has always been a threat in the meta that is why I initially picked him. But in all honestly right now I might just try and find a replacement for him because of my Scizor and water weakness that I seem to constantly have, but let’s get into his actually set. Thundurus was initially there as a T-waver but he soon became a wall breaker and not a slow your opponents pokemon down support poke. His ev spread his pretty standard with the amount of speed being able to outspeed max speed 110 pokes (Latias/Latios) and allowing me not to waste evs but invest them in bulk. 244 SpAtk does not make any difference in the KOing spectrum of things so I decided to invest that in bulk to. 8 HP and 8 SpDef allow him to live something important I just completely forgot what it was, I apologize for that. Focus blast and HP ice are there for coverage but with the decrease of HP ice’s power it is really only useful against Dragonite, Garchomp, and Salamence, not so much other dragons anymore.

Ability: Solar Power
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 52 HP / 204 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast

- Ancient Power

- Roost

- Solar Beam

Charizard Y was put here because of the water weakness as Described earlier, but now is one of my main sweepers of the team with its enourmous power and great coverage moves. 52 evs in HP allow it to survive multiple hits in the Sun against water, while 252 speed allow it to outspeed max speed rotom-w and the rest just went into SpAtk. Solar Beam and Fire Blast are there for great coverage over most pokemon used in today’s OU tier, while Ancient Power takes care of the only two pokes being able to take the grass/fire combo, being Talonflame and other Charizard Ys. Talonflame gets OHKOed by it and ChariYard has an 81.3% chance to (never can make it a guaranteed OHKO except when you are playing with level 50s aka VGC).

Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 56 HP / 252 SAtk / 200 SDef
Modest Nature
- Stealth Rock

- Lava Plume

- Flash Cannon

- Hidden Power [Ice]

Heatran is the one part of the Latitran core and this supports my team by being a check to Talonflame and to Genesect, which can be two humungous threats to this team otherwise. As you can see this pokemon in my core is to set up Stealth Rocks so my team has an easier time sweeping. With the Air Ballon Heatran can avoid an EQ from Garchomp and put a dent into it with HP ice. I also put Flash Cannon on this guy to deal with opposing fairy types with my team not having coverage over that other wise and as well no other move really fit this spot better. Lava Plume is there for the STAB factor as well as the 30% chance to burn.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 204 HP / 112 SAtk / 192 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor

- Psyshock

- Healing Wish

- Defog

This pokemon is just my favorite pokemon of all time and the playability that this guy has is just amazing. Latias can tank so much hits with 204 HP investment not needing much more to take on most attacks it is 2x weak to. With 192 spe evs and the timid nature it can outspeed pokemon of base 102 i.e. Garchomp and the rest I decided to put in to SpAtk with that Latias can OHKO Garchomp with a draco and put a major dent in most other pokemon. Draco is there for a special stab move and Psyshock is there to hit those special walls. Healing wish is an interesting move I took off of another RMT (would give credit if I remembered which RMT it was) but it basically gives another chance for any of my sweepers to well………… kill things once again causing more problems to my opponent. Then with the buff to Defog I no longer need a pokemon solely for getting rid of my glaring SR weakness with all three of my pokes taking 25%+ damage from rocks it can become a major pain, but now I can implement a “spinner” into my core.

Ability: Iron Fist
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch

- Ice Punch

- Mach Punch

- Knock Off

This spot I toyed around with so much but Conkeldurr finally stuck out as a check to most things I am afraid of. The assault vest and the added bulk to HP and SpDef I can survive most hits from a Specs Draco Latios to almost any non-boosted SpAtk. Mach Punch and Drain Punch are standard moves on Conkeldurr and with Iron Fist it just gets boosted even more. But that is the one thing that I am contemplating about this pokemon how useful is Iron Fist because there were so many situations where I predicted a Status inflicting move like WoW to come and without Heatran I really do not have a counter to something like that. This is one of the things I was going to ask if Iron Fist makes that much of a Difference at the end of the day. Continuing with the rest of the move set Ice Punch is there to counter opposing dragons and then Knock off….. what can I not say about this move it is one of the most useful moves on conkeldurr able to counter pokemon like Aigeslash and Latios with this it hits the Variety of pokemon Conkeldurr normally cannot it for much, most notably ghost types

Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Icicle Crash

- Icicle Spear

- Earthquake

- Stone Edge

Mamoswine is the pokemon I copied out of my old VGC team with its humungous coverage over every type I feared it was an obvious choice. With having this ev spread and the choice scarf he is able to out speed Timid 252 speed Greninja which is the fastest pokemon that does not resist Mamoswines coverage moves. Talonflame is no threat with most running no speed investment and everything else gets OHKO by earthquake. Icicle Spear is there as a way to break Multiscale and Icicle Crash is just a reliable ice move you should always have. 112 HP allows it to turn many 2Hkos to 3Hkos and 172 Atk is just there for raw power.
Conclusion:
This team is obviously not perfect so if you have any suggestions please give them. This team as any semi-HO team needs is predictions you always need to know what your opponent is about to do and that I feel like is why I had decent success with this team. Thank you for reading my RMT for this team and I hope you can all give me suggestions to improve this team in the future.
