Abra is one of the fastest and most powerful Pokemon in LC, and a Focus Sash turns it into the tier's premier revenge killer. Offensive teams struggle to switch into the combination of Dazzling Gleam and STAB Psychic, allowing Abra to tear through those teams late-game. Counter takes advantage of Abra's Focus Sash, which is protected by Magic Guard, to OHKO many physical attackers that attack it. Protect keeps Abra safe from priority attacks such as Mienfoo's Fake Out and Trapinch's First Impression. In order to preserve its Focus Sash and let it effectively use Counter, try to avoid switching Abra directly into attacks. Teammates like Vullaby, Mienfoo, and Porygon are able to bring it into battle with U-turn or Teleport, but the most reliable way to get Abra in safely is by sending it in after a teammate is KOed. Abra appreciates the support of Knock Off users such as Wingull and Mienfoo, as they can remove Eviolite from Porygon and Spritzee and thus enable Abra to 2HKO them.
