Mareanie offensively outwalls the competition! Its incredible bulk and Regenerator turns it into a great offensive threat itself, allowing it to reliably 2HKO Vullaby with Ice Beam and OHKO Grookey with Sludge Bomb while still defensively handling threats like Salandit and Mienfoo. Sludge Bomb checks threats such as Grookey and Shellder, and Ice Beam nails Ground- and Flying-types like Toedscool and Vullaby and 2HKOs Foongus after Stealth Rock chip. Finally, Mud Shot catches checks such as opposing Mareanie, Chinchou, Tinkatink, and Stunky while enabling Mareanie to outspeed foes such as -1 Glimmet after a Mud Shot and remove them safely. Tera Dragon enables Mareanie to comfortably handle threats such as Elekid and Chinchou. Toedscool and Alolan Sandshrew provide support to Mareanie with Rapid Spin, making up for Mareanie's decreased bulk while appreciating its ability to handle threats such as Mienfoo. Toedscool can further support Mareanie by taking on Electric- and Water-types that it cannot, such as Elekid, Mudbray, and Alolan Diglett. Meanwhile, Alolan Sandshrew can handle problematic Flying-types such as Vullaby and Wingull for Mareanie.
