Triple Axel cleans through Grass- and Ground-types such as Foongus and Trapinch. Earthquake targets Ice resists like Mareanie, Tinkatink, and Chinchou. Ice Shard can deal with faster threats that Alolan Sandshrew may otherwise struggle with like Toedscool and Nasty Plot Vullaby. Tera Fairy turns its crippling Fighting weakness into a resistance while also neutralizing its Fire weakness, enabling it to stay in and handle Mienfoo and Heat Wave Vullaby. Wingull enjoys Sandshrew removing Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin and, in return, can safely check Fire-types such as non-Choice Scarf Hisuian Growlithe and Numel. Mienfoo can help Alolan Sandshrew by luring in Foongus for it, along with handling Stunky and opposing Alolan Sandshrew.

Ice Shard hilft gegen schnellere Bedrohungen, mit denen Alolan Sandshrew sonst Probleme hätte, etwa Toedscool oder Nasty Plot-Vullaby.
