Torchic @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
Level: 5
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 36 Def / 196 SpA / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 9 HP / 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Tera Blast
- Substitute
- Protect

Get fired up with Torchic, the blazing-hot Pokemon that ignites the battlefield! Speed Boost makes it an excellent late-game cleaner in Little Cup, in part due to the sheer power of a Life Orb-boosted Fire Blast and the low pool of Fire-resistant Pokemon available. Tera Blast Ground lets Torchic cleanly KO Fire-resistant foes like Mareanie, Hisuian Growlithe, and Glimmet after Stealth Rock. A combination of Substitute + Protect allow Torchic to accrue multiple Speed boosts reliably, outspeeding the entire unboosted metagame. These two moves also help Torchic circumvent priority moves that would take it out. Many tanky Pokemon like Mienfoo, Mudbray, and Vullaby can survive a Fire Blast with their Eviolite intact, so Torchic greatly appreciates friends that can bait them in and hit them with Knock Off like Stunky, Mienfoo, and Vullaby. Every bit of damage counts with a do-or-die glass cannon like Torchic, so entry hazards make its life easier as a sweeper. As much as Torchic enjoys the opposing side being littered with entry hazards, its own weakness to Stealth Rock can greatly cut into its already-poor longevity, so removal options like Vullaby and Toedscool help facilitate it very well.

Get fired up with Torchic, the blazing-hot Pokemon that ignites the battlefield! Its Speed Boost ability makes it an excellent late-game cleaner in Little Cup, in part due to the sheer power of a Life Orb-boosted Fire Blast but also the admittedly and the low pool of Fire resistances available in the tier(really just cutting down character limit here im ngl). Ground Tera Blast lets Torchic cleanly KO Fire resists like Mareanie, Hisuian Growlithe, and Glimmet after Stealth Rock. A combination of Substitute and Protect allow Torchic to accrue multiple speed boosts reliably, outspeeding the entire unboosted metagame after a single Speed boost, and all Choice Scarf holders after two.(basically said this in the first bit) These two moves also help Torchic circumvent a lot of priority used to take out speedy sweepers like Torchic; Protect blocks Fake Out from Mienfoo while Substitute lets it avoid Sucker Punch from the likes of Stunky and Pawniard and status moves like Spore from Foonguss.(you kill foongus unless it teras but then it walls you so that seems irrelevant, could also just say it helps with sucker punch users) Many tanky Pokemon like Mienfoo, Mudbray, and Vullably can survive a Fire Blast with their Eviolite intact, so Torchic greatly appreciates friends that can bait these in and hit them with Knock Off like Skuntank Stunky, and its own Mienfoo, and Vullaby. Every bit of damage counts with a do-or-die glass cannon like Torchic, so entry hazards make its life easier as a sweeper. Entry hazard setters like Mudbray, Glimmet, and Toedscool(toed can run spikes but its still p uncommon. also deleting bc you said this the sentence b4) are great partners. As much as Torchic enjoys the opposing side being littered with entry hazards, it's own weakness to Stealth Rock can greatly cut into its already-poor longevity, so removal options like Defog Vullably and Rapid Spin(implied w/ toed) Toedscool help facilitate Torchic very well. Hisuian Voltorb invites in Grass-types like Foonguss and opposing Hisuian Electrode, only to be met with a Volt Switch that grants a safe entry for Torchic to wreck havoc. (true but i view torchic as more of a cleaner so i dont find it particularly relevant)

is there any better way to mention what Pokemon safely pivot Torchic in?
