Hello everyone innovamania here with a rmt for one of my favourite tiers Gen 4 UU. This team is my favourite DPP UU team I've ever built and is incredibly fun to use. It focuses on using Swords Dance Leafeon to baton pass boosts to the rest of my team, in order to break down walls and sweep late game with ether Rock Polish Rhyperior and one of my 2 priority users. With that in mind let's take a look at the team.
Team Building Process

I knew I wanted to use SD Leafeon and Choice Banded Kangaskhan as my main core. While they have no real synergy defensively they share quite a bit offensively in that they break down each others counters. (Kangaskhan is also my favourite pokemon in DPP UU so their may have been some bias)

Then I decided on what I'd use for my lead. Since I was going for a more offensive team I wanted a lead that could set up rocks had some offensive pressure while also having a bit of bulk and had few terrible matchups (since you don't want to lose offensive pressure from turn 1 when using an offense team) as such I decided Mesprit fit the bill.

I then decided I wanted priority but also a Pokemon that benefited from an SD Boost and had some synergy with the rest of the team. As such I went with Azumarill even tho I find it semi underwhelming in the uu metagame.

I noticed that will-o-wisp alone can shut the team down so I decided I wanted a fire type to absorb burns can go mixed and has priority and so I added BLAZIN KICK'N CHICKEN!!!

For the final spot I wanted a bulky Pokemon that can clean up weakened teams late game, and handle Pokemon that can threaten my sd passing Leafeon so I decided on Rhyperior.
So now that you saw the Teambuilding process let's get into the specific sets.

Mesprit @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 52 HP / 204 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- U-turn
- Trick
- Zen Headbutt
Mesprit is our chosen lead for the team because it give us offensive momentum while having some bulk and doesn't face many bad matchup. The set I chose was Choice Scarfed lead because not only is it my favourite Mesprit lead set but it also combines the two aspects of why I chose of Mesprit and can cripple bulkier leads and walls giving me set up opportunities. My other teammates can handle the leads Mesprit doesn't beat, (Blaziken beats most Lead Spiritomb, and Rhyperior can beat Scyther/Moltres)

Leafeon (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Leaf Guard
EVs: 132 HP / 4 Atk / 120 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Baton Pass
- Synthesis
- Leaf Blade
So here is the basis of the team, SD Leafeon. Leafeon has surprisingly good bulk and speed which makes it a perfect choice for an SD passer. The EV's give it max speed to speed tie with Pokemon like Houndoom and Drapion. The rest of them go into maximizing Leafeons physical bulk. I tried Roar over Synthesis but overall I prefer being able to keep Leafeon alive as opposed to phazing other phazers. Leaf Blade is just an obligatory stab move.

Kangaskhan (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge
- Hammer Arm
- Earthquake
- Sucker Punch
Now for my favourite Pokemon in the DPP UU Metagame. Kangaskhan makes an excellent reciever of SD boosts thanks to it's great speed and attack. Banded Kangaskhan is my favourite set and combined with sd boost it'll break down most walls. I've considered Silk Scarf over Choice Band but I didn't find being able to switch moves that useful. I have also tried jolly but I really like adamant even tho jolly might be the better choice. I've also tried Return over Double Edge but again it's one of those preference things for me. As for the ev spread it's pretty standard and so is the moveset.
Azumarill (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall
- Ice Punch
- Double-Edge
Standard Choice Band Azumarill is the 4th member of the team. It's probably the member I like the least because I don't find Azumarill to be that great of a Pokemon in DPP UU. It works well on the team tho, it gives us priority, another wallbreaker and can scare out and beat fire types that threaten Leafeon. I think Azumarill is the most replacable member of the team because I already have rhyperior to handle fire types + registeel, (who Leafeon baits in).

Blaziken (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Mild Nature
- Fire Blast
- Superpower
- Hidden Power [Electric]
- Vacuum Wave
Blaziken helps complete our offensive fwg core and does an even more important job of absorbing burns + beating lead spiritomb who is the hardest Matchup for lead Mesprit. The set I chose was a specially based mix attacker. Rash nature is chose because I don't care too much about opposing priority and it lets me tank Spritomb hits better.

Rhyperior (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Megahorn
The final slot belongs to Rhyperior who acts almost like a glue for the team. RP was the chosen set because a fully defensive set would lose momentum and with an sd and rp under his belt rhyperior is hard to stop. It also beats Registeel who Leafeon just baits in and can get a free sd up on it. The moveset is standard with edgequake for stab and Megahorn to nail Torterra who otherwise walls both of my stab attacks, and 29 IV's reduce Life Orb recoil.
Changes/Variations I've Tried:
---->
Tauros is faster then Kangaskhan but overall I like Scrappy for being able to hit ghost types. If you do decide to run Tauros I recommend life orb so your boost isn't wasted the minute they send in a ghost
---->
Arcanine is faster and bulkier and then Blaziken with 2 better abilities. The only reason I run Blaziken is because I like to be able to go mixed with it but if you don't care about that then Arcanine is the superior choice.
---->
An interesting choice to say the least. Using Feraligatr I was using the dd set but with Aqua Jet over a coverage move. Overall my least favourite change I tried but it still has some merit.
So their is the team. Overall it is an incredibly fun team to use, but like any team it has a fair share of problem. One major one is hazard stacking as I have no Spikes immune Pokemon and no hazard remover. The Main way to deal with this is to keep up the offensive pressure so they can't afford to click Spikes. The other major threat is powerful special attackers. Particularly CM Mismagius and Alakzam, which is one of the major reasons I keep sucker punch on Kangaskhan. Overall the best way to use the team is to avoiding giving your opponent any offensive momentum which can be easier said then done. Feel free to give me suggestions I'm open to any and all changes except for replacing Leafeon.
