This is my first time posting on smogon, let alone posting a rmt. be gentle
i don’t remember how i came about this team. i think my friend showed me it/made it for me cause i told him i liked leafeon and cinderace. it’s a sun team with leafeon in the spotlight. i’m stuck at around 1200 and i figured i might as well get the team rated to see what can be improved. so far i’m loving how the team works, but i know it lacks something, i just don’t know what.
Ninetales @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
EVs: 196 HP / 60 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Disable
- Will-O-Wisp
first up we’ve got ninetails. ninetails has drought which, of course, sets up the sun for leafeon. running disable allows me to disable any set up moves like dragon dance to stop any sweeps being built up while setting up leafeon, and will o wisp does it’s work with the attack reduction. solar beam gets its boost in sun, which i use to read the water switch in. heat rock is obviously used to extend the amount of turns that the sun has.
Leafeon @ Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Solar Blade
- Double-Edge
- Dig
next up is the leafy boy himself, leafeon. this thing is a beast, and he honestly surprised me so much once i learned how to use him. chlorophyll doubles leafeons speed in the sun, taking it up to over 600, outspeeding pretty much everything. swords dance doubles leafeons attack, making it a much bigger threat, even after the sun dissipates. solar blade in sun takes only 1 turn to charge and has a base power of 125, and, after a swords dance, is probably gonna sweep their team (if suns still up). double edge, honestly i think i’ve used it maybe 2 or 3 times but it’s got high base power and can be used once the sun goes away so you don’t need to spend a turn charging solar blade or dig. dig is mainly used to read the fire type switch in. life orb gives leafeon that extra boost it needs to destroy.
Seismitoad @ Rindo Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Atk / 76 Def / 8 Spe
Brave Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Liquidation
- Focus Blast
seismitoad. what else is there to say? it’s seismitoad. water absorb stops dracovish from using that damn fishious rend to sweep my team, and rindo berry is used to mitigate some damage from super effective grass attacks. stealth rocks because what’s a seismitoad without stealth rocks. it’s a pretty offensive set, making him strong and a threat to others. he’s a great switch in for a lot of pokemon, water types that are trying to attack ninetails or cinderace especially, and he can tank a hit or two.
Cinderace @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- Sucker Punch
- U-turn
- Court Change
ooh boy, i love cinderace so much. my absolute favourite pokemon of all time. strong, fast, cute, what else could you want? i just hope libero comes out soon.. cinderace is mainly brought out after traps have been set, since the heavy duty boots nullifies all damage from them, and court change does its work. since cinderace is fast, u turn works quite well as it can be used to switch into seismitoad or leafeon. sucker punch is useful against ghost types, mainly dragapult, which is actually capable of KOing if there’s been a little chip damage already. pyro ball is pyro ball ive seen it KO other fire types i love it and him.
Mimikyu @ Eject Button
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
mimikyu with eject button. yeah, i can’t use disguise to get a free swords dance but it’s worth it. i can sacrifice the eject button to get a free switch, just to make sure someone like leafeon doesn’t take any unnecessary damage. otherwise, it’s a standard mimikyu set. free SD because of disguise, shadow sneak to get some quick chip, and the rest is just textbook. i’ve thought about using red card to try and use mimikyu to stop any built up sweeps while i’ve been setting up sun, but i’m not sure.
Durant @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Hustle
EVs: 112 HP / 252 Atk / 144 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Iron Head
- X-Scissor
- Superpower
- Crunch
durant is,, unreliable.. he’s had his moments where he shines but then hustle kicks in and makes him miss 3 iron heads in a row and it ends up with my crying in a ball on the floor. i’m not particularly good at making teams, so i’ve never really thought about what to replace him with, however i feel like he’s actually pretty decent. he’s got a variety of moves to use in this set, and being scarfed makes him faster than a lot of other pokemon. he hits hard with his moves and fire attacks can be switched into with ninetails or cinderace, or seismitoad. hustle boosts durants attack, but decreases accuracy making him pretty unreliable and salt-inducing. there’s a 20% chance to miss iron head and a 30% chance to flinch, and i swear i’ve only seen one flinch but maybe 100 misses..
thank you for taking the time to read my pretty awful analysis. idek if it’s enough to post i’m on mobile so i’m not sure if the analysises.. analysis’? are sufficient, i hope they are. i’m pretty new to competitive pokemon and also its 2am at the time of writing this so i’m not surprised if it’s bad. thank you once again.
