Lesson one: Fear!

Okay I finally started to build Teams again and so I started thinking about what can cause a lot of havok in the current
Metagame and it was a simpel answer, Metagross can. It has a wide movepool which makes it pretty hard say which
version your facing and once all the set up for the Set is done, you're done too. Now enought of the speek let's take a
closer look.

Jirachi @ Leftovers ** » th3 3t€rNaL «
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 240 HP / 160 Def / 32 Spd / 76 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn
Jirachi is pretty good Lead and also gets a lot of free SR turns since my Opponents mostly think im Scarfed and would trick them or try FlinchHax. T-Wave + Iron Head for some Flinching and SR is a must on every Team. Jirachi is my first part of the setup (T-Wave + SR).

Porygon2 @ Leftovers ** » th3 v!rUs «
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 58 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Toxic
Here a Pokemon which never really got much attention, but now it will shine. Mainly here to get rid of DDDos and DDMence through Trace and then fireing back. Discharge is part 2 of my set up for the later sweep. Toxic helps me criple things which resist BoltBeam combo or get rid of Walls. Who ever used this Pokemon will know that it really is a cool thing.

Latias (F) @ Leftovers ** » th3 h3aRt «
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Spd / 130 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Reflect
Latias is a Beast in the right Hands. I have choosen CMLat since most players run the Trick set which sometimes gives me a free turn. CM + Reflect is a decent way for a long life =) Recover rounds up the "long life" combo and Dragon Pulse is for Stab and it hurts after a few CM's.

392.png

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb ** » th3 rAp3 «
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk / 196 Spd / 250 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Close Combat
- Fire Blast
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Another Beasty thing which acts as my Wallbreaker. INfernape can beat unprepared Teams easyly. Fire Blast for Stab, HP [Ice] for Flying Types like Zapdos who think they can take a CC and Dragons, Grass Knot for Grounds and Waters like Swampert, CC for Special Walls like Bliss and Stab.

330.png

Flygon (M) @ Choice Band ** » th3 iNs3cT «
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- U-turn
Flygon is a pretty cool dude and covers my Ground weak. Dragon Claw is there so im not directly locked in Outrage, EQ is for massive Stab and U-Turn is for scouting. Im still considering a Scarfset maybe so I would have a good revenge Killer.

376.png

Metagross @ Expert Belt ** » th3 iNvAd3r «
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 60 Atk / 252 Spd / 196 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Meteor Mash
Last but not least, Sir Sweep a lot. Once all the fast things are Parad or dead I bringhim out and beat the shit out of my Enemy. Meta can Take out all of it's counter except for Zapdos and Rotom-A. Swampert is OHKO'ed by Grass Knot, Hippowdon is 2HKO'ed, Scizor or Forry which want to absorb a Meteor Mash will die to HP [Fire], Meteor Mash for Massive Stab move and EQ for coverage.

Okay thats it for my Team hope you might be able to help me a bit with this Team. Rate, comment, fix, help =)

Since your team is based on Metagross, the rest of team should work on eliminating it's counters. Since you said that Tyranitar is your weak link and your Metagross can handle all its counters except Zapdos and Rotom-H, I think a Rest-Talk Swampert would be good replacement since he is a good check for both Zapdos and Rotom-H.

I hope this helps!

Hmm...Pert is not really good >_> Zapdos near always has Hidden Power [Grass] and Rotom could Trick me =/ But thx for the idea.

Okay, cool team, and props for using mixed Metagross. I think I can help your team be more successful, so here goes. My first suggestion, since you don't like it, is to replace Tyranitar. The sand really hurts Latias, Infernape, and Porygon2 more than it helps in breaking down the opponent. The main thing Tyranitar seems to be doing is just pursuing Latias and possibly Starmie, so when we replace him we still want something to take on those threats, and a little bit extra. My biggest concern is that you have one Ground resist / immunity, yet you carry 4 weaknesses to it. So our first thing we want this replacement to have is to be at least resistant to ground. Secondly, when we replace Tyranitar we lose a lot of that hit like a truck power that he brings with the Choice Band. To keep up the offensive tempo, you need to have something that can either U-Turn or something that can 2hko pretty much everything that comes into it. What I think you should use is CB Flygon. Salamence looks a little better until you come to the fact that CB Flygon can either weaken up the opposition enough so Metagross can either sweep them, or vice versa. Not to mention that CB Flygon brings a huge electric resistance, which helps versus Zapdos and Rotom (by the way the offensive variants of both are OHKOd bu Outrage after SR).

Flygon | Choice Band
Jolly | 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp | Levitate
Earthquake | Dragon Claw | U Turn | Outrage

This change opens you up to Latias, so what I want you to do as more of a quick fix than anything else is to make Infernape the physical mixed version. The threat of Close Combat or Fire Blast makes Latias a prime switch in against Infernape, so why not lure it out and slam it with a U Turn, then force it out with Metagross? It gives you a way to 2hko Vaporeon, and covers up your beastly weakness to SD Lucario with Mach Punch. SD Lucario pretty much swept you cleanly if rocks were up and Latias had taken 5%-ish. Mach Punch, as well as Flygon to an extent, help that out a lot. Mainly, it keeps up the tempo and hits shit hard in general

Infernape | Life Orb
Naive | 252 Spe / 192 SAtk / 64 Atk | Blaze
Overheat | Close Combat | U Turn | Stone Edge

That's all I have to say, I hope my changes help (ps thanks bloo or whoever for the good pokemon format)

I like the idea with Flygon and so far it worked for me, but now Latias seems a bit useless to me XDD Maybe replacing it ?
Since i found myself really open to Scizor.

Toxic helps me criple things which resist BoltBeam combo or get rid of Walls.

I'm sorry but if your wanting to cripple things that resist boltbeam in OU with toxic you've got a problem. Magnezone. It is immune to toxic so you won't be crippling it very effectively. I suggest hidden power [fighting] > toxic as you can trap magnezone with it's own ability and hit it for super effective damage. You may well want to keep toxic for hitting bulky waters that mat wall metagross, but I see magnezone's trapping ability on meta a much bigger threat to deal with.

Hope this helped!

If you do decide to take the above suggestions, you'd probably be better off using HP Ground, as it hits for more damage against Magnezone, as well as hitting Heatran, another pokemon Porygon2 does exceptionally well against, for more damage.

HIdden Power [Ground/Fighting] is no option on Porygon >_> It is a wall ;-)

Also I switched TTar for Flygon after some Testing =) Also now i consider replacing Latias or Infernape or possibly both. Any suggestions ?

with infernape u should definitely change it to the set Bad Ass suggested, as mixed metagross can take down walls anyway. your jirachi lead does come as a surprise, but most faster leads carry taunt, so there is a chance u could be KO'ed by an aerodactyl or something. But this is just something to consider, i like ur lead jirachi otherwise. with flygon u could try the scarf set, or u could scarf latias and forget flygon, but with porygon 2 u have a good way of dealing with the dragon dancers anyway, so a revenge killer isnt too top priority, if thats why u were considering a scarfset on flygon.

I tried this team on Shoddy, and I'd recommend you change your Flygon to the scarf variant. Mix Gross has had some mixed results, but obviously since that's what you want to center your team around, I won't recommend you switch Gross out. You could try Choice Band on Ape, but the LO set hasn't necessarily had negative results. Porygon 2 is a great wall and the Rachi Set has been pretty successful. Good team overall man.

November 2009: | Zapdos | Move | HP-Grass | 24.8% |

What I want to suggest is that you definitely should consider Swampert, but I suggest using him as a lead. Considering the top ten leads in the current metagame, Jirachi just doesn't cut it. Try this set for Leadpert:

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Relaxed nature (+Defense, -Speed)
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Beam
~ Stealth Rock
~ Roar

This set makes a great lead as well as a great counter to many physically based Pokemon, and it does well against most of the standard Heatran sets.

Hope this helps!

Um... Magnezone resists Bolt-Beam combo, and is immune to Toxic from Porygon2 so I would recommend Thunder Wave. It slows stuff down so your Metagross can outspeed, and if your lucky para-hax. It really screws over Scarf-Magnezones, cuz then they're usless.
