Let it Rain!-RMT-

I've decided to try out a Rain Dance as well as other weather teams, but I figured I'll start with a Rain Dance team. I've also tested this team and so far it works. I don't plan on battling legends or ubers so don't worry about them.

I don't normally post my teams here, so forgive me for the descriptions.

Here we go.

Swampert @ Damp Rock
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Impish
EV's: 240 HP/ 56 Sp. Atk/ 212 Def
-Stealth Rock
-Roar
-Surf
-Rain Dance

Here is my lead poke. I start out with SR, then go to Rain Dance. Waterfall for some offensiveness.

Kabutops@Lum Berry
Ability:Swift Swim
Nature: Adamant
EV's: 252 Atk/ 130 Def/ 128 Spe
- X-Scissor
-Waterfall
-Swords Dance
-Stone Edge

Swords Dance up and then attack away. X-Scissor helps take care of Grass and Stone Edge takes care of Flying types.

Kingdra@ Mystic Water/Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Naughty
EV's: 168 Atk/ 252 SpA/ 88 Spe
-Rain Dance
-
Waterfall
-Surf/Hydro Pump
-Draco Meteor/Ice Beam

My Sp.Atker and the second poke on my team to use Rain Dance. Ice Beam for Grass and Dragons. Dragon Pulse for STAB.

Lanturn@Shell Bell(replacing, but with what?)
Ability:Volt Absorb
Nature: Calm
EV's: 40 HP/ 192 SpAtk/ 240 SpDef/ 36 Spe
-Ice Beam
-Thunder
-Rain Dance
-Surf

My third and last poke with Rain Dance. I switch him out on a poke that I think will Thunderbolt/Thunder/Thunder Wave me. Then I Thunder them if Rain Dance is in effect.

Empoleon@Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Calm
EV's: 248 HP/ 118 SpAtk/ 144 Sp.Def
-Substitute
-Grass Knot?
-Ice Beam
-Hydro Pump

I use this guy as my Sp. Wall. I use Substitute first, then Ice Beam/Hydro Pump away. I'll Roar if I need to.

Toxicroak@Wide Lens
Ability: Dry Skin
Nature: Jolly
EV's: 24 HP/ 252 Atk/ 232 Spe
-Cross Chop
-Sucker Punch
-Stone Edge
-Swords Dance

Dry Skin works really well on a Rain Dance team, IMO. Sucker Punch, which has saved me tons of times, is for pokes that outspeed him, like low HP Garchomps and Psychics. Cross Chop for STAB and Stone Edge to take care of the Flying types. Ice Beam and such moves shouldn't hurt him too badly, right? Which gives him the chance to SD up, then if Rain Dance is still in effect, shake off the damage from Ice Beams and other moves.

This is so far the best Rain Dance team I've made and works quite well for me. I also don't plan on battling Ubers or Legends and such.

So yeah, rate, critic, replace moveset, etc. If I have to change EV's, let me know, I'm not an expert on EV's and such.

So far when I had my last battle with this team, I had a problem with other water types(Starmie). I can predict them, but I usually predict two options and always choose the wrong one.

Should I change Empoleon out for another Sp.Wall? Would Claydol work as he has high Sp.Def and can also Rapid Spin for me and I can switch him in on electric moves?

Changes in Bold.

From experience with Rain teams myself, you probably need a backup plan in case you can't get the Rain off. You also want a naturally speedy pokemon or Choice Scarfer in case you don't have Rain up. If your not playing with just friends then expect legends.

Swampert wants those Attack Ev's relocated to SP. Attack and Surf>Waterfall because of Surf's higher base power. Damp Rock> Leftovers for more Rain abuse.

Kingdra should probably be mixed to take out Blissey (see the moveset on Kingdra's page), and Lanturn's speed probably won't cut it so maybe Ludlicolo. A ground over Toxicroak to absorb electricity?

I don't really think Empoleon is the best choice as a Special Wall as the Water type is really redundant.

I also fail to see how water types cause you trouble with no weaks, 3 resists, and one immune.

So far it has only been Starmie to cause me some trouble, but it could be due to bad prediction on my part. But I'll start making some adjustments.
