LET IT RAIN

LET IT RAIN GUYS

Introduction

Well, we all know that ou metagame is in couple with a word called "WEATHER" and imo one of the best (if not the best) weather is the rain... So here is my team :3:3

Da Team

186.gif

Politoed @ Leftovers
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Protect
- Toxic
- Focus Blast

The frog that LET IT RAIN. Bulky set up is imo the best because he can live very much special atks (Starmie tbolt do less than 35%, for example), in rain scald hit decent enough (dont forget the burn) and also focus blast can ohko or 2 ohko a ttar. toxic is the cripple thing (laugh at gastro or jelli lol), nuff said lol

Vaporeon_NB.gif

Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Trait: Hydration
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Wish
- Roar
- Protect

Here i present you THE WISHER, he can hit very good (look at dat spa) he can live specials atks very good, he can wish and laugh at everything... is just too good. But the main thing i put this in my team is for hydration, he just cant be crippled. You are worried by a t-wave, willo or something? JUST PUT THIS AND LAUGH AT HIM (i can said spore/variants but u cant have the rain up) and because of that, i think is very good not only in this team, is good in every rain team (idk why is underated)

Thundurus_Therian_Sprite.gif

Thundurus-Therian (M) @ Electric Gem
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Grass Knot
- Focus Blast
- Thunder
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Well, first of all this is not a common set, and it has counter... but is just SOOO GOOOD, this set works generally if you can predict (is you sent thundurus against a water type that cant outspeed, and it has a ground type... well, ovbious switch are ovbious). grass knot to laugh at gastrodon and variants, FB for dark/steel types (laugh at hydreigon), Thunder/electric gem can ohko a rotom... OHKO A ROTOM!, and well, 100% chances of hit in rain and that stuff, also hp ice is for dnites and gliscor (landorus just in case you can predict). Also you can switch it in a water counter/check (grass and variants) without preocupation lol

Ferrothorn_NB.gif

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball

I just cant describe this thing and because of that im going to give you a example. In one game because i did something "noob" i let a dnite go to 4x atk, it hit me 35% with d-claw... 35%!, and my gyro ball did 54%... ferro is just that good. Put sr first, switch if he switch, or proceed with leach, twave or gyro. And never forget the rain, the 4x fire weak is a very bad thing (in almost every game against a sunny i cant put ferro out) but in rain is just I DONT CARE ABOUT FIRE. He can cripple, he can stall, he can hit hard and most important thing, he can survive almost everything (except terrakion, but thats another thing)

Dragonite_NB.gif

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Superpower
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed

CB dnite, because is wall breaker
Well, cb dnite hit hard, very hard. It can ohko other weather inducers (except hippo or def ttar, but is not common) it can espeed and hit like a truck in the moment (more than 70% to a keldeo, one of the counters of this team) AND NEVER FORGET MULTISCALE, he can live a choice scarf outrage of a salamence and then proceed to kill him (example), cb set is very good at early, just to hit hard the opponent walls and stuff

Scizor_BW.gif

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 4 Def / 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
IVs: 30 Atk / 30 Def
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower

Good Ol Scizor, this is the counter of my counters, celebi? latias? reuniclus? terrakion? kyurem?... LAUGH AT THEM, scizor is just good as fuck, U-turn for moment, bp to hit hard, pursuit to pursuit psy pkmns and superpower if you can predict things (Heatran for example)

Well, this is my team... i accept advices and comment if this is a good team, also dont be so rude, this is my first post here lol

Hey there and welcome to Smogon n_n

This is a pretty cool team! However, there are some things that can probably be fixed. One thing this team suffers from is a lack of direction- you don't have any reliable sweepers that can clean up opposing teams, nor do you have any solid defensive core to bank on in order to outlast opponents. You don't lack pokemon capable of sweeping, however- just, your 'sweepers' lack the ability to set up and begin to wreck things with powerful attacks. Basically, they lack setup moves. To give your team direction and options to sweep, I would first suggest that you use Nasty Plot instead of Grass Knot on Thundurus-T and Expert Belt instead of Electric Gem. Grass Knot is relatively redundant coverage as Focus Blast hits most heavy opponents much harder (ie Tyranitar.) Nasty Plot, on the other hand, allows Thundy-T to transform from a hard hitting attacker to a powerful wallbreaker. At +2, Thundy-T destroys Sand teams, since its Thunder / HP Ice / Focus Blast supplies it with perfect coverage and the ability to OHKO a variety of common walls, such as Ferrothorn, Jellicent, Lando-T, Gliscor, Blissey, Tyranitar, Tentacruel, or Heatran. This allows you to target and remove all walls from your opponent's team, making it much easier for Scizor or Dragonite to deal massive, widespread damage. I suggest an Expert Belt because it gives you a great power boost and also lets you feign choice. Electric Gem isn't that great of an item because its Thunder is insanely powerful anyway and in just one turn you could erase any possible difference in damage the Gem would have done.

Another thing I would try, to give the team a physical set up sweeper, is Dragon Dance over Superpower on Dragonite and Leftovers over Choice Band. Giving Dragonite the ability to set up brings many benefits to this team. First of all, since Dragonite is your only solid answer to Sun sweepers, it gives you a powerful offensive tool that you can use to set up in the face of Sun sweepers and then countersweep them before they muscle past Dnite and run over your team. Having a speed sweeper is also great as it lets you pick off all of the faster opponents that would check the rest of your slower team. Most of all, Dragon Dance boosts Dragonite's attack whilst still giving it the option to switch moves- letting Dragonite launch powerful attacks at your opponent that can sweep unprepared teams. Leftovers should be used over a Choice Band if you use Dragon Dance- to let Dragonite overcome residual damage gradually and heal itself back up to Multiscale range.

Now, I think the team needs to patch up some problems defensively. Both of your sweepers are weak to hazards, and your pivoting Scizor doesn't exactly appreciate hazards either. This team could definitely use some spin support. The team also has a slight weakness to faster fighting types, primarily Choice Specs / CM Keldeo, who can use HP Ice to defeat your Flying types. To help you cover these problems, I suggest you try Bulky Tentacruel instead of Vaporeon. Tentacruel brings a lot to the table that Vaporeon previously didn't have, and has great synergy with your other defensive pokemon, Ferrothorn. Tentacruel's main boons are its ability to Spin and wall Fighting types such as Keldeo- two things that it has over Vaporeon. Tentacruel is one of the most reliable spinners in the metagame becase it has nothing to fear from the two most common spinblockers, Jellicent and Gengar, whom it can defeat relatively easily. It also is a solid fighting type check- sponging Close Combats and Focus Blasts relatively easily and replying with a crippling Scald burn. Its access to both burning (through Scald) and Toxic make it a great support pokemon- crippling offensive opponents and defensive walls respectively. It’s also a great Sun check, as it isn’t weak to Grass like Vaporeon is. Although it can’t do much with Scald, it can at least Toxic opposing Tales, making it hard for them to switch in and out to counter your Rain. It also has great synergy with Ferrothorn, absorbing Fighting and Fire type attacks, forming a solid defensive core to help the team sponge attacks.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Bold / 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Rapid Spin / Scald / Toxic / Substitute

The loss of Vaporeon means that you lose the ability to phaze, though- making the team slightly weaker to setup sweepers. To help you cover this weakness, I suggest you try Perish Song on Politoed over Focus Blast. Perish Song lets you basically force out any sweeping opponent, making them erase their own stat boosts so that your team is not swept. It also buys you more time to set up with either Dragonite or Thundy-T, as with correct prediction you can nab the turn of the free switch and set up. Focus Blast is relatively subpar on Politoed because it's weak and Scald is more than enough to hit Tyranitar.

Finally, since the above changes add more status to the team and take away your only Grass type coverage move, I suggest you make a small change in Ferrothorn's set. Using Power Whip instead of Thunder Wave on Ferrothorn would be of great help to this team- giving you a reliable way to take out pesky Ground / Water types that wall Thundy-T and to an extent, Scizor. This lets you prevent Ferrothorn from being set up bait against such Ground / Water types- letting you break the Subs of SubDD Gyarados and hit RP Lando-I for a good amount of damage on the switch in. Thunder Wave would clash with Politoed's / Tentacruel's status and also clash with the power of Gyro Ball. Ferrothorn's spread is a bit weird too- I think a spread of 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpDef Relaxed would probably work best, giving you good mixed bulk so that you can tank a few special attacks when needed. The new addition of Tentacruel covers a few more commonly physical attackers, reducing the need of max physical bulk on Ferrothorn.

Cool team! I hope this helped!

Thundurus-T: Grass Knot --> Nasty Plot, Electric Gem --> Expert Belt

Dragonite: Superpower --> Dragon Dance, Choice Band --> Leftovers

Vaporeon --> Tentacruel

Politoed: Focus Blast --> Perish Song

Ferrothorn: Thunder Wave --> Power Whip, 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDef --> 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpDef
