Hi all, Mr.Omgness here!
Few days ago I put together a team which increased my win/loss ratio by quite a bit, so I thought I'd share and see if I can further improve it.
The team is called Let's Get Dangerous with courtesy to Darkwing Duck (oh nostalgia), because the duck is the MVP of this team. It's also quite an offensive team, so we really are getting dangerous here!

The Team in-depth:
@ Eviolite
Trace
252 HP / 72 Def / 184 SpD
Bold (+ Def, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Wave
- Recover
Ever since I've first tried it I love this pokemon. It can tank so many hits it's not even funny. On top of that it can actually hurt too. I have had matches where Porygon2 killed 3-4 pokemon. If it doesnt have a Fighting STAB it's not going to OHKO (CB Scizor Superpower doesnt OHKO), while I can T-Wave them back and then use the speed win and parahax to recover back. This duck is an all-in-one tank for all the Dragon-types. It does however lack the ability to come in over and over again to sponge hits, specs/banded dragons will be able to 2HKO it in most cases.
Boltbeam coverage is self-explanatory, T-Wave support is great for an offensive team. It makes it safer to trick the scarf and allows my other pokes to outspeed some faster threats.
The ability makes Porygon2 a hard counter to pokemon like Heatran and Gliscor as well.
@ Expert Belt
Pressure
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest (+ SpA , - Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Aura Sphere
- HP Ice
- Signal Beam
First time I am using this poke and I really like it. In most cases this guy is my late game cleaner, doing great at outspeeding and ko'ing what's left of my opponent's team but 115 SpA with Expert Belt also makes sure he has his fair share of OHKO's in the tier. I run a max damage spread because with 2 priority moves, t-wave support and a scarfer I mind less about speed. I only recently slapped on Signal Beam because of the trouble I had with Espeon and Celebi. I considered running Weather Ball to get a 2nd STAB vs weather teams but I found it's use in that case highly situational. I could consider running HP Grass over HP Ice to deal with Gastrodon and Swampert better.
@ Lum Berry
Moxie
252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive (+ Spe, - SpD)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
I have never been very good at using set-up sweepers but this guy is probably my first success in that department. Porygon2 lures in a lot of pokemon that Salamence can easily set up on, especially with a Lum Berry to protect it against status. Fire Blast to counter troublesome pokemon like Skarmory, Ferrothorn, Forretress and Scizor. I go for speed investment here because I have moxie to further boost my attack. Together with Raikou he is my late game clean-up team.
@ Leftovers
Sturdy
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish (Def+, SpA-)
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
My physical wall, spinner and hazard setter. Donphan fulfills those 3 roles good which make it an excellent poke in my team. It doesnt have a fighting resistance which it could use seeing how Porygon2's weakness but Latios compensates it a bit. Still, this guy can take a few close combats and dish out damage with STAB Earthquake. Ice Shard is a priority move that makes sure some DDers cant setup and laughs in the face of Smeargle-BP teams who get brought to their sash by Infernape's Mach Punch and then see this Elephant come in on them before they can BP their boost. Just like Porygon2 Donphan cant sponge many hits because it lacks recovery, but it does good enough to wear the opponent out so that the attackers can finish the job.
@ Choice Scarf
Levitate
252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid (Spe+, Atk-)
- Trick
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunderbolt
A scarfer seems mandatory on an offensive team and here it is. It can cripple a plethora of pokemon with Trick and then still stomp through with it's great SpA. Surf over Thunderbolt because I already have quite some Electric-moves and that way I hit Heatran hard, if not on a sun-team. With the right parasupport from Porygon2 I can safely Trick it without having to worry about a certain speedy threat my opponent has.
@ Life Orb
Iron Fist
252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive (Spe+, SpD-)
- Mach Punch
- Close Combat
- Overheat
- ThunderPunch
I love this guy, he is the offensive pokemon that gets the most action early game. A lot of his usual counters are not safe against him: Gliscor takes a huge whomp from Overheat and Gyarados and Starmie are OHKOed by ThunderPunch. Mach Punch priority tops it of to deal with faster weakened foes or fellas like Terrakion.
I hope you liked the team and I hope you can give me a few suggestions on how to make it better. The lack of a Grass-move seems a bit of a working point atm because Gastrodon and Swampert do prove to be a nuisance in some cases. I also have to look out for calm minders, especially because my only move against psychic-types is special-based.
