... I know you wanna RMT! :D
This is my first team in a long time, and I must say I've gotten a bit rusty at battling. I decided to start playing again to test out the new toys HGSS brought, specifically Aggron! My team still needs a lot of work, and has a couple holes in it and just don't know what to do with it anymore. That's what this place is for anyways.
Overview:
Analysis:
Hippowdon (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/90 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Stealth Rock
- Roar
Pretty standard bread and butter Hippowdon. I wanted something to set-up Sand Storm and my first thought was Tyranitar. But, Ttar and Aggron share many weaknesses, and I didn't see the point in having 2 Rock-type sweepers anyhow. So the next choice is this beauty. Sets up Rocks, and Roars away annoying leads. Dissapears for most of the battle until there are some physical attacks to soak up.
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/10 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Superpower
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
Scizor is pretty much an all round great sweeper and found a nice niche on this team. Not only does it helpfully scout with U-turn, it makes it easier to get Aggron into the fray to start rocking the opposition (teehee). Skillfully cleans up late game with Bullet Punch after Aggron. A true power player, useful early, late and mid game.
Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/38 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
- Grass Knot
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Takes some physical hits like a champ, as well random surfs and gets rid of the nuisance that is Swampert (And all those bulky waters :<). Covers Gyarados nicely, and HP Fire is for Scizor obviously, which can be a bit of pain (And I definitely do not want any priority ruining Aggron's fun!). Aggron is pretty slow, so he appreciates T-Wave, so does Scizor when he's not sweeping with Bullet Punch.
Heatran (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Explosion
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast
- Dragon Pulse
Adds some much helpful speed to this team, and Heatran's Fire Blast sure does a number on ANYTHING, so it's pretty helpful early/mid game to bruise up the other team (Helpful late game to if Scizor or Aggron have died...). I mainly added Heatran because I wanted a more special oriented sweeper that wasn't too afraid of Scizor. Scares off steels and complete wipes them out for Aggron, too. Yaay.
Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 Atk/252 Spd/26 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
He does a decent job shaking up the other team, as well as drawing out steel types that can be quite the large pests. Intimidate is a huge reason why Salamence is on this team... Though I may replace him with Gyarados? I don't quite know yet. Of all members of this team, I feel Salamence will be the easiest to replace. Also EQ resist is really helpful...
Aggron (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 76 HP/252 Atk/180 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Aqua Tail
- Iron Head
Star of the show. Head Smash wrecks, even if it's resist except to take lose a considerable chunk of HP. I like to keep him under wraps until I've scouted most of the other team, and have slowed down some of the quicker threats. He doesn't always beat the foe into submission, but he beats them hard enough that Scizor/Heatran can come in later and finish it off. Though he still does a great end game.
I think it's a pretty decent team, but yes it needs work. Thanks for the help! :D
