I chose Crawdaunt as the anchor/captain of my team. It was between Gyarados, who has since dropped to UU, or Crawdaunt, and I ended up going with Crawdaunt because I've never used it before and it backs a ton of raw power. Also, Crawdaunt can obtain the near flawless Dark/Water coverage without having to use my Mega slot so it was a win for me. Finally, Crawdaunt gets Knock Off, which is an all around great utility move.
Don't Touch Me (Chesnaught) @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def

The standard defensive Chestnaught set, with a rocky helmet over leftovers. I find that the extra 12% chip damage that my opponents would get is more useful than the 6% healing I get, especially when I have leech seed. Admittedly, now and again the extra leftovers would be nice, but overall rocky helmet seems to help me with sticky situations. It gives my opponent a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation because they'll either take damage from Spiky Shield or from Rocky Helmet. Drain Punch to help with recovery, Seed Bomb to have a powerful grass type move with no drawbacks.

Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD

Once upon a time, I used a Competitive Milotic. At +4 with Blizzard, I failed to do 50% to a Goodra. Afterwards, I had always wanted a goodra on my team. To further his special powers even more, I gave him an assault vest to tank most, if not all, special attacks. Dragon, Fire, and Electric give unresisted coverage, and sludge wave is there to hit the Fairies that think they run this place.
FatBoi (Aggron-Mega) @ Aggronite
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Def / 240 SpD

- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Heavy Slam
- Earthquake
Everyone needs Stealth Rocks. Aggron has good coverage with Goodra, meaning that my walls support each other well, helping my core stay alive and weaken my opponent's team longer for Crawdaunt to strike. Toxic is to help wear down other walls, Heavy Slam and EQ are standard physical attacks that Aggron normally runs. Aggron took just under 50% from a specs empoleon's Scald, so that should help explain its defensive prowess.
Shofu Tha Beatdown (Honchkrow) @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Just like Crawdaunt, this thing is pure power. The only reason it isn't my sweeper is because I have crawdaunt, and I didn't want two set up users on my team. I was torn between choice band and life orb, and ultimately decided that Roost provided more use than Pursuit, so I went with Life Orb. That may not be the right decision, but it has worked well so far. Any input here would be nice; this slot was literally because I had 3 defensive mons, 1 set up sweeper, and nothing to punch holes. Honchkrow likes to punch holes, so here he is.

Espeon has always been one of those pokemon that had a special place in my heart, but I never really knew why. Finally, I had a chance to use one on this team, but for no other reason that without it, I would have no hazard control. Now I realize that Magic bounce isn't a reliable form of Hazard Control, but at least it's something. It has the added pro of not taking up a move slot, so I can have Magic Bounce and still use Espeon as a huge offensive threat. Espeon fulfills 3 roles at once: pseudo-hazard control, special attacker, and powerhouse to punch holes. Specs Espeon can OHKO offensive salamence, so that is a testament to its power.
