[SET COMMENTS]
* Life Orb Eternatus is a niche offensive variant that trades its longevity and ability to soft check foes like Marshadow and Primal Kyogre to instead enhance its offensive capabilities. Its biggest draw lies in the immediate and dependable power boost granted to its attacks, allowing Eternatus to wallbreak multiple times throughout a game without relying on the two-turn nature of Meteor Beam. Its ability to harass bulky structures while also sporting a decent matchup against hyper offense makes it a worthwhile addition to balance and bulky offense teams alike.
* Dynamax Cannon is Eternatus’s STAB move of choice, with consistent damage output to net crucial 2HKOs against many defensive targets. This allows Eternatus to pressure foes such as Primal Groudon, Yveltal, and Zygarde; after one layer of Spikes, opposing Eternatus and support Arceus formes are brought into OHKO and 2HKO range respectively.
* Sludge Bomb threatens Arceus-Fairy with major damage while crippling targets with its valuable poison chance, making switch-ins such as Ho-Oh unable to stave off repeated blows long-term. If such targets are well-handled by its teammates, Toxic Spikes can instead be used to punish switches by setting grounded threats like Lunala, Primal Groudon, and Primal Kyogre on a timer.
* Fire Blast decimates Steel-types attempting to switch into its STAB moves, notably OHKOing Zacian-C and 2HKOing defensive Necrozma-DM after a layer of Spikes, while blasting apart the occasional Ferrothorn without the need for entry hazards.
* Recover takes advantage of forced switches to reliably heal Eternatus from chip damage and Life Orb recoil, allowing it to switch out and remain healthy enough to wallbreak at a later point in the match.
* Tera Dragon launches Dynamax Cannon to new heights, letting Eternatus 2HKO Ho-Oh, Primal Kyogre, and Tera Water or Poison Zygarde as well as OHKOing most offensive Primal Groudon variants after Stealth Rock. Tera Dragon secondarily sheds crucial weaknesses to Ground and Psychic, allowing Eternatus to take on threats such as Arceus-Ground, Primal Groudon, and an unboosted Ultra Necrozma at the cost of becoming vulnerable to Toxic.
* Tera Fire is an alternative that boosts its coverage, letting Eternatus more easily dispatch Zacian-C and offensive Necrozma-DM with a nuclear Fire Blast. Defensively, Tera Fire improves the matchup against Fairy- and Ice-types, allowing Eternatus to better check a boosted Arceus-Fairy and Choice-locked Chien-Pao as well as dodging Sacred Fire burns in a pinch, at the expense of a newfound weakness to Stealth Rock.
* Eternatus functions well as an early- to mid-game wallbreaker as well as a cleaner owing to its excellent Speed and offensive presence. However, its inability to safely switch into Poltergeist and Knock Off users in addition to demanding careful HP management due to Life Orb recoil means Eternatus appreciates pivoting support from offensive and defensive allies alike to find opportunities to safely enter the battle; therefore, Pokemon such as Yveltal, Mega Latios, and Alomomola synergize well with it.
* Eternatus appreciates allies that can set hazards to facilitate its wallbreaking, making teammates such as Primal Groudon, Arceus-Water, and Ferrothorn excellent partners; the former two pressure Defoggers like Ho-Oh and Yveltal with the threat of status moves and super effective coverage, while the latter punishes support Arceus formes and Giratina-O with Leech Seed.
* This set struggles against stall teams due to its low-PP moves as well as Life Orb recoil inevitably forfeiting momentum to use Recover, so teammates such as Choice Band Rayquaza and Overheat Primal Groudon help Eternatus in overwhelming special walls like Chansey and Ho-Oh while Eternatus threatens Dondozo and Arceus-Dark in return. Rayquaza is a particularly useful ally due to its access to U-turn, allowing Eternatus to safely enter the field and wreak havoc.
