Line in the sand, a BW2 sandstorm team

After several attempts of trying to make a consistent team this one has proved to be the most successful on pokemon online. Any comments/fixes would be appreciated;

The Team

184px-248Tyranitar.png

Tyranitar @Leftovers Sassy
252HP/4Atk/252 Sp Def
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Crunch
Fire Blast

Stealth Rock provides hazard support, Fire Blast deals with steels not named Heatran, Crunch is needed to destroy Latios/as and finally Stone Edge over Pursuit as Stone Edge from experience has shown to be more useful against sun team mainstays such as Volcorona and Ninetails as well as providing a powerful STAB move to hurt Dragon/Flying types.

200px-227Skarmory.png

Skarmory @Lefotvers Impish
252HP/252 Def/4 Speed
Whirlwind
Roost
Brave Bird
Spikes

Pretty standard Skarmory minus the EV spread. I have never come across a situation where those 24 speed EV's have helped so i thought it far better to invest in max def and have only 4 speed EV's. Spikes aids passive damage making KO's for my powerful pokes easier, Brave Bird provides STAB and defeats common Fighting types such as Conkeldurr/ Whirlwind prevents setup up pokemon and aids the team in racking up further damage and finally Roost aids with Skarmory's survivability.

94-Gengar.png

Gengar @Life Orb Timid
4HP/252 Sp Atk/252 Speed
Shadow Ball
Focus Blast
Substitute
Pain Split

When i first used this over my Reuniclus i thought that this wasn't going to be as effective. I was soon proven wrong. Designed to be the ruin of Chansey and Blissey and everything that once tried to status/priority hit Gengar. Substitue blocks status and priority attacks that are the bain of Gengar's existence. Pain Split laughs at Blissey and Chansey preventing them from recovering easily. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast provide perfect coverage and severely dent a nything that stand in their way.

200px-479CRotom.png

Rotom-W @Leftovers Modest
252HP/252 Sp Atk/4 Speed
HP Fire/Ice
Will-O-Wisp
Thunderbolt
Hydro Pump

Bulky Rotom is one of the pokes that people are mostly caught unawares by. HP Fire causes them major problems by swiftly decimating Scizor, Ferrothorn and Grass types in the sun. Will-O-Wisp screws physical attackers, T-Bolt and Hydro Pump provide effective STAB attacks that hurt a lot of things.

166px-645Landorus.png

Landorus @Expert Belt Naive
4HP/252Atk/252 Speed
Earthquake
Stone Edge
HP Ice
U-Turn

Another pokemon that people have trouble dealing with because it is assumed Landorus is carrying a choice item. Whilst it doesn't have the speed to sweep, it only needs to lure in a potentially problematic poke for the team and KO it in order to allow me to deliver the final assualt and it is good at doing so. EQ/Edge are two wonderful moves powered up even more by Sand Force and Expert Belt that destroy a fair portion of the metagame. HP Ice destroys or at least maims the likes of Gliscor/other Landorus/Dragonite/Salamence and U-Turn enables me to get out of sticky situations as well as maiming the likes of Celebi in order to KO it next turn.

166px-649Genesect.png

Genesect @Choice Scarf Naive
4 Atk/252 Sp Attack/252 Speed
U-Turn
Giga Drain
Flamethrower
Ice Beam

The star of my show. When combined with the opportunity and the correct Download powerup Genesect wipes the floor with all opposition. U-Turn puts a sizeable hole in the likes of Blissey and Chansey, outright destroys Celebi, Latios and Latias (with the attack boost and stealth rock) and provides me with momentum and the chance to check the opponets current pokemon. Giga Drain is used over T-Bolt because it not only hits the water types that T-Bolt does (i have Ice Beam to cover practically every flying type), especially Gastrodon which was a pain until i included Giga Drain and provides a much needed super effective hit on opposing Terrakion that survive Genesects other moves. It also provides Genesect with much needed survivability if Stealth Rock and Spikes are around. Ice Beam decimates Landorus/Gliscor dragons e.t.c. and Flamethrower wastes opposing steels.

Pervious pokemon

Ferrothorn @Leftovers Relaxed
252HP/88 Def/188 Sp Def
Leech Seed
Power Whip
Gyro Ball
Spikes

Standard Ferrothorn but made way for Skarmory after i found certain substitue pokemon difficult to handle.

Gliscor @Toxic Orb Impish <Poison Heal>
252HP/184 Def/72 Speed
Substitue
Earthquake
Protect
Toxic

It was very effective at stalling but i felt the team needed to be more defensive so i swapped it out for Landorus as the team wass struggling at one point with Landorus.

Reuniclus @Leftovers Bold
252HP/252 Def/4 Sp Attack
Psychic
Focus Blast
Calm Mind
Recover

The decimator of many teams but it was easily setup on by Scizor's so i had to find a decent replacement. I think i have in Sub Split Gengar.

Terrakion @ AirBalloon/Choice Band Jolly
4 HP/252 Atk/252 Speed
Substitute/Sacred Sword
Close Combat
Stone Edge
Swords Dance/X-Scissor

I used two different varients of Terrakion with the Sub Dance proving to be the most effective but it could not match the immediate power of the Choice Band set. I might reintroduce him into the team if i can work out where he will fit.

i fixed the images for you

anyways this is a really good team. you're going to have to replace genesect since it was recently banned. if you want another revenge killer i think scarf terrakion is a good choice. it also patches up your enormous volcarona weakness. it also let's you outrun modest venusaur in the sun, who is another pokemon you're quite weak to. in fact it's just a good weapon against sun teams overall

speaking of which you're also very weak to opposing terrakion. i'd highly suggest you run a max defense SR hippowdown over ttar and make skarm max hp and max spdef so it can come in on latios more easily. oh also i'd give gengar leftovers over life orb because it'll ie way too fast with sandstorm + LO + SR damage

one water resist and a ton of water weaks on a sand team is definitely not ideal, but you can definitely still beat most rain teams with smart playing. if you find yourself too overwhelmed by rain teams you could try running dragonite over landorus

Hi there, cool team,

First of all i d suggest you to change some set, for example your tyranitar needs Pursuit>Fire Blast, so you can trap Latwins that could be switched out and give you some problems, you have to give it also Chople Berry>Leftovers, so you can win 1vs1 with the most popular Focus Blasters, like Reuniclus or Gengar.

Now Genesect is banned, so i d use Keldeo>Genesect, because you can abuse it versus rain and make a good core with Tyranitar, the set is obviously the standard Choice Scar Timid, with Hpump/Surf/Secret Sword/Hidden Power Ice. My other suggestion is to give always 16 evs on Skarmory speed to ouspeed others skarm and set/whirlwind faster. You also need to change Rotom-W set imo, because it s your only way to stop Tornadus-T. I d suggest you to use 248hp/200Sdef/56spd, with a moveset of Hydropump/Volt Switch/Will O Wisp/Pain Split, now you have a good recovery move, and may continue the Volturn Chain with Landorus.

The team is very very nice, i love that set of gengar xP, Anyway i hope helped you see ya :)
