Link's RMT: The Flaming Chicken.

This is a new team I have started to use on Shoddy, and I've won a lot with it, so I decided I should make an RMT, just to fix up any visible errors. Thanks in advance for taking the time to look it over, and even more if you reply. :naughty: Props to Arkeis for the awesome Pokémon drawings.

moltres.png

Moltres @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Air Slash
- U-turn
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Moltres is my lead, and he does his job very well. With Choice Scarf, he outspeeds everything that is not scarfed, and everything that is scarfed and naturally slower than him. It OHKOs many things, and its move provide great type coverage. Air Slash takes care of Fighters, bugs, etc., while Overheat hits mostly everything for lots of damage =P HP Ice is for grounds/dragons/flyings. U Turn is for me to eject myself out of a dangerous situation. The only problem I have with him is that I forget to realize that my opponent may not know I have a scarf, and leave their Pokemon in. I overpredict then, and choose a move that doesn't do good damage against said pokemon, and then have to switch. Happened 3 times so far >.< A plus is that his defences aren't too shabby, so he can survive a hit or two before going down.

swampert.png

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP/216 Def/52 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

This guy is awesome. As you can see, I use Smogon's Mixpert set. I switch him in on attacks that were directed at Moltres. He deals good damage, and sets up SR efficiently. He can survive moves, so he isn't bad as a wall. The only problem with him is that he lacks a recovery move... I guess Jirachi's wish support could make up for that, but it still is a con. Earthquake is for STAB and type coverage, Surf is for STAB, and Ice Beam is for Dragons, grounds, and the likes.

gliscor.png

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Knock Off
- Roost

This is my Dragon slayer/Defensive wall. He eats up physical attacks like nothing, and roosts the damage off. I picked Ice Fang over Aerial Ace because it feels like Gliscor was emant to be the bane of Dragons/Grounds. And really, who leave a Hercross in against Gliscor.? Earthquake is for STAB, and destroys T-Tar. Knock Off is for the evil factor; I knocked off an Azelf's Life Orb on the switch once. Very happy moment, if I do say so myself. Roost is obviously for healing.

jirachi.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP/80 Def/176 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Wish
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic

Jirachi serves as Wish Passer and Special Wall. Basically, switch it on somethign weak to it, like a Machamp or so, CM on the switch, then Wish or Sweep. Thunderbolt messes up Waters like Gyarados that try and come in, and Psychi provides STAB. Thanks to the Def EVs and the Bold nature, ti can survive physical attacks well. That's about it for him I guess...

jolteon.png

Jolteon (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Baton Pass

Now, this thing is FUN! Nothing likes being on the end of a STABed Specs T-Bolt. HP Grass is for the Swampert that thinks he can switch in. Shadow Ball is there because... Jolteon has no other moves >.< Baton Pass is used when my opponent and I both switch, and he switches in a... Gyarados. Since BP happens after my opponent switches, it allows me to switch in the most viable Pokemon. So yeah, this is a nice set that has worked well for me. Timid allows it to outspeed every unscarfed Pokemon, and lots of scarfed ones.

weavile.png

Weavile (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
- Pursuit
- Ice Punch

Standard Choice Band Weavile, nothing really special. Really speed, and good attack. Pursuit is when I switch into gengar or Starmie, and it'll KO them even if they don't switch. Brick Break hurts T-Tar badly, gives STAB, and helps against Blissey/Snorlax. Ice Punch is for STAB and obvious type coverage. Night Slash is an evil move; it gets STAB plus my heighten attack, and it has a high crit. rate, which has done me LOTS of good. So, I guess he could be considered my physical sweeper.

Well there you have it, that's my team! I thank you for reading it and hopefully making some suggestions. I hope you liked the pictures as much as I did =P.

I don't like the idea that you have build this team as Moltres as the core(?), and you have no Rapid Spinner which hurts Moltres 50% on switch-ins. Rapid Spin is necessary if you want more success in your team, looking how other 3 pokemon are affected by it, one of them being Weavile, who takes alot from Stealth Rock aswell. Moltres is your only true counter to MixApe, taking shit from anything MixApe throws at it, being Grass Knot or Flamethrower, Close Combat.

I would really recommend a Starmie, Donphan could work, but it lacks Starmies ability, what makes it a great Rapid Spinner. You could prolly replace Swampert, although you will lose Stealth Rock. With that, Gliscor could still set up rocks for you, Stealth Rock > Knock Off seems ideal. I guess Jolteon could work, it has a very limited movepool though, I would seriously consider something else like a Gengar, having a diverse movepool would make it a excellent scarfer.

If Mamoswine does not have Stone Edge, Moltres would be a good counter to it, although 50% of the Mamoswine carry Stone Edge, so you would have to get Starmie to kill it with Surf, same goes for opposing Weavile.

Personally, I would be okay with switching Jirachi and Jolteon.

How about Starmie for Jolteon and... what is a good special wall that isn't affected much by the ape?

Jolteon would have to go then, and Moltres handles MixApe well, but a special wall would be a Tentacruel, not a wall, but more of a Special Tank, being anble to Rapid Spin aswell, and set up and remove Toxic Spikes.

Alright then... I'll consider replacing Jirachi with Tentacruel, but I would still like to keep Jolteon.

First I want to see what Kinglerdude thinks.

Just looking at the team I can see Stealth Rock and Deoxys-S are huge pains. Swampert is 3hkoed by Psychic as well meaning he isnt exactly the best counter. I really see no reason to keep in Gliscor. Moltres and Swampert counter everything he does and he isn't laying down Stealth Rock, Baton Passing, or even Taunting. I think a good Rapid Spinner has to go in his place. Starmie/Tentacruel is a good choice as they clear the field up for Moltres and can attack/lay down spikes. However for this team, I would actually use Forretress. Forretress helps beats Garchomp by being able to switch in on a SD Outrage (Only Jirachi might be able to do that). Forretress also can lay spikes or toxic spikes along with Rapid Spinning. Finally, it can counter Deoyxs-S, giving you two solid counters.

Jolteon can stay for now but you might have to end up replacing that too =/

Hmm, Forry you say? I'll try that. Thanks for all your suggestions!

I'll replace Gliscor with Forry and Jirachi with Tentacruel.

But, if I will be using Tentacruel, will Forry be overkill?

Maybe you didnt notice or didnt write it but moltres covers jirachi's weaknesses perfectly and thus can be a good wish recipient while offering recovery for that 50%hp loss due to Stealth rocks.I suggest keeping jirachi just use the normal wish uturn set with light screen rather than calm minding it will help ur team as well as jirachi.
