Lion King Theme Team

Hi. I made this fun team (Based on The Lion King, my favorite movie). Here's what I have so far.

The Team at a Glance

Now let's look at the team more in depth

Simba (Raikou) @Choice Scarf
Modest nature
Ability: Pressure
252 SpA/252 Speed/4 SpD
-Volt Switch
-Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Grass
-Extrasensory

A fast, hard hitting special attacker. Most choose Hidden Power Ice over Hidden Power grass but I chose HP grass because my team has a GIANT weakness to ground and water (nothing to resist and all weak to ground). Extrasensory seems a bit odd but it provides some extra coverage. Volt Switch and Thunderbolt are understandable

Mufasa (Entei) @Choice Band
Adament Nature
Ability: Pressure
252 Attack/252 Speed/4 HP
-Flare Blitz
-Stone Edge
-ExtremeSpeed
-Iron Head

Entei hits really hard with a Choice Band equipped and can often wreak havoc on a team that is unprepared. This is why I chose Entei to play the role of Mufasa. He is very strong, and can really kick some butt if you are not careful. All of the moves are basically for coverage. Flare Blitz is STAB, Stone Edge hits Flying types that would threaten Emboar and Infernape. ExtremeSpeed is priority and Iron Head hits anything that resists all three of the other type of moves (specifically Rock types)

Scar (Luxray)(M) @Life Orb
Nature: Rash
Ability: Intimidate
60 Attack/252 SpA/196 Speed
Thunderbolt
Superpower
Hidden Power Grass
Volt Switch

This is the Wallbreaker Luxray set on Smogon. I don't usually like Wallbreaker sets but I feel that this one is necessary, as it takes out a lot of opponents that would otherwise wall it if it was running just one kind of set.

Thunderbolt and Volt Switch, again are explainable. Thunderbolt is STAB and Volt Switch is switch initiative. HP Grass takes care of water and ground types that are not expecting it and Superpower is there for Pokemon like Blissey.

Rafiki (Infernape)(M)@ Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Blaze
252 Attack/252 Speed/4 HP
-Stealth Rock
-FlareBlitz
Close Combat
-ThunderPunch

My Stealth Rocker and, usually, my lead. Infernape is that Pokemon that is usually a suicide lead just to set up Rocks. I chose Blaze over Iron Fist for the extra Flare Blitz power. ThunderPunch is for Flying and Water types (Should I ever have to stay in on those) and Flare Blitz and Close Combat are STAB. Enough said here. Moving on

Timon (Raichu)(M) @Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Ability: Lightningrod
252 SpA/252 Speed/4 HP
-Nasty Plot
Thunderbolt
Hidden Power Ice
Encore

Originally, Pikachu was my choice for Timon, not Raichu. But because my team was already pretty weak, I needed Raichu. This set is kind of a wierd choice for me. I almost never put a move like Encore on a Pokemon that is suppose to sweep. However, it is more effective than I thought. I can Encore walls into a move like Heal Bell or Stealth Rock or something like that and, because they are forced to switch, I can freely Nasty Plot. The only nitpick I have with this set is Raichu's Special Attack. Without a Lightningrod or Nasty Plot boost not even Thunderbolt will do that much, so forced to switch into an electric type move or set up a Nasty Plot if I wish to use Raichu effectively

Pumbaa (Emboar)(M) @ Expert Belt
Nature: Brave
Ability: Blazr
252 HP/252 Attack/4 SpD
-Flare Blitz
-Hammer Arm
-Protect
-Wild Charge

This set is.... a bit of an oddball. That's because this is an Emboar that should be in a Trick Room. However, I found it rather effective on this team. Protect is scouting. Flare Blitz and Hammer Arm (I don't want Superpower because of the Attack and Defense lower) are STAB and Wild Charge hits Water types. The only thing wrong with this set is its Speed. Don't expect to be outspeeding anything with it

Threats

Pretty much any Water or Ground type. No one resists either one of types and EVERYONE is weak to ground types. IF the Pokemon with Grass type moves in their arsenal are KOed and I still have a ground type opponent to deal with, chances are, I'm screwed.

Spikes and Stealth Rocks are also problems, as my whole team takes a lot of damage from them and I have no Rapid Spinner.

Flyting types are a little troublesome if my electric types are weakened but they are usually not a problem. The one that usually causes me so much trouble is....

GYRADOS!

He may not seem like much of a threat, but after a few Dragon Dances, he can completely sweep me with Waterfall and Earthquake. The worst thing is, my best option to outspeed it is Raichu. If Raichu is knocked out, then Gyrados is a MAJOR problem

I hope you like this little team I made. Feedback and Suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you

Nobody else is going to respond to this (note: it should be in the OU Teams section anyway) and theme teams aren't usually that great, but I might as well help out.

Luxray is pretty... well, bad. There's another cat Pokémon that can fill its spot well though, and that would be Landorus-T. While it can't wallbreak, Landorus-T (also known as kitty Landorus) still provides Intimidate while also bringing an important Ground immunity, great bulk and power, and Stealth Rock. This frees up Infernape's moveset, letting it use a Choice Scarf set instead of its current lead set. This will allow you to revenge kill Gyarados more easily as well as destroy a boosted Volcarona. Even with these changes though, your team is really, really weak to Keldeo. An option to change this would be to change Raikou's set to a bulky Substitute + Calm Mind set. With the right EVs, Raikou can always survive a Hydro Pump from Scarf Keldeo in the Rain (unless SR is up) and KO back with Thunderbolt. Lastly, Raichu and Emboar both struggle to compete in OU. I can't find much of a replacement for Raichu (there are no meerkat Pokémon anyway, so a mouse is as close as you might get, idk) but Emboar should probably be replaced with a Mamoswine. Since your team kind of lacks an answer to rampaging Dragon-types, Mamoswine can come in and destroy them with Ice Shard (if they're faster) or Icicle Crash (if they're slower) and also deal heavy damage to Breloom.

I hope I've been able to help - good luck with your team!

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 200 HP / 64 Atk / 244 Def
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock

Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- ThunderPunch

Raikou @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 104 HP / 224 Spd / 180 SAtk
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Superpower
Note:
-Raikou's HP EVs guarantee that it will survive a Hydro Pump from Timid Choice Scarf (or Expert Belt) Keldeo in Rain as long as Stealth Rock is not up, and the Speed EVs let it outspeed Tornadus.
-Mamoswine can also run Icicle Spear over Icicle Crash and Stone Edge over Superpower.
