Introduction

Hello everyone, this Dr Ciel once again here with yet another RMT, this one being my last on this site, as I will be quitting Smogon for a really long time, or at least until the X/Y meta settles down / gets stable enough for me to start playing again. I'm mostly known as the creator of the Dawn of Kyurem team, but this is probably tied with that as my favourite team. Anyways, this team is built around a monster threat that absolutely dominated in the DPP OU era & still is an absolute monster today in the current BW2 meta. This beast that, once his counters & checks have been eliminated, can cause some absolute destruction to an unprepared team. This Pokémon is none other than the legendary Swords Dance Lucario. That's right folks, the steel jackal is the focus point of this RMT, sporting an amazing base 110 Attack & solid base 90 Speed stats, it's no surprise that this one was a huge threat back in the DPP OU era & he fits in perfectly with the extremely offensive OU meta. I've called the team Listen To Your Heart not because of the nicknames, but because I listened to the song by the artist Roxette during my ladder run with this team. This team is a really offensive team that is used to hit hard & fast (All but one of my Pokémon have an Attack or Speed stat that exceeds 100). Do be warned that you will see some really unorthodox sets on this team, as you have seen by my last RMTs, I am a very creative teambuilder. Anyways, I know you want me to get to the RMT, but you'll have to read through all this before you can get the all immortal importable for this team. Anyways, I've kept you waiting for too long, so get to the team!

Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 224 HP / 252 SAtk / 32 Spd
Modest Nature
- Icy Wind
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Stealth Rock

First up on the team, & my lead in 100% of my matches, a rather odd set, ladies & gentlemen, meet Expert Belt Jirachi! Like I said before, I usually lead with this guy to get up my Rocks up first. This set surprises a lot of people, because people don't know what it's going to do. Now, the EV spread aren't your bog standard Jirachi EVs, so allow me to explain them a bit. I use Maximum Special Attack & a Modest nature in order to do as much damage as possible to whatever switches into this behemoth. I use 32 Speed EVs in order to speed tie standard Defensive Gliscor as well as other common leads & the rest of the EVs are thrown into bulk to survive an Earthquake from standard Landorus-T & OHKO back with Icy Wind. Now, onto the moveset for this guy. Icy Wind might be my favourite move in the entire game, as it allows me to OHKO Standard Gliscor, Standard Landorus-T, & being able to get some good damage on DD Dragonite. The Speed drop helps me out a lot here. The next move, Thunderbolt helps me 2HKO the bulky waters in the tier, with the exception of Gastrodon. Hidden Power Fire allows me to KO standard Ferrothorn with some prior damage, standard Banded Scizor & being able to 2HKO some variants of Jirachi. Finally, Stealth Rock is easily the most important move on the set, providing my entire team with hazards.

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Trick

Now, you may be wondering, "Why not use Latios, it has much more Special Attack than Latias". Well, that statement may be true, but along with all that, Latias has some incredible bulk to go along with it, allowing her to survive attacks that her brother Latios would not be able to. The EV spread is once again standard fare, with maximum Special Attack invested in order to do as much damage as possible (mainly with Draco Meteor) as well as Maximum Speed investment in conjunction with a Timid Nature to hit a Speed stat of 350, which calculates up to 525, outspeeding just about the entire OU tier, including Scarf Terrakion, +1 Volcarona, Choice Scarf Salamence, just to name a few. Alright, now we're going to get into the moveset. Draco Meteor is the obvious & obligatory STAB move here as it destroys everything that doesn't resist it & even somewhat frail types such as Scizor take a huge amounts of damage, despite the resistance. Psyshock is another solid STAB move used to nail Choice Scarf Keldeo, Scarf Terrakion as well as Venusaur in Sun, just to name a few, I know there are many others. Surf is an excellent coverage move that nails Heatran, Magnezone, & just about any Steel type Pokémon not named Ferrothorn for some heavy damage. Finally, Trick, the last move on the set, is used to cripple several walls that dare switch in to this fellow, especially the Pink Blobs, rather better known as Chansey & Blissey.

Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 28 HP / 252 SAtk / 228 Spd
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Pump
- Dragon Pulse
- Ice Beam

Up next on the team, my first wallbreaker makes an appearance, this one hitting on the Special side, Choice Specs Kingdra finds a slot on my team. Kingdra really gets the job done when he needs to, KOing certain threats to my team. The given EVs enable Kingdra to outrun Jolly Breloom and Cloyster, while a Modest nature gives it a chance to OHKO Dragonite through Multiscale, as well as land OHKOs on Venusaur, Magnezone, Keldeo, Skarmory, and bulky Starmie. Now, allow me to explain the moveset of this absolute behemoth. You see the first two moves in that set? Yeah, just keep clicking on them until the opponents have no Pokémon left. Just kidding, don't do that, but seriously, Draco Meteor & Hydro Pump have insanely good coverage with each other, hitting the entire OU meta for neutral or super-effective damage, with the exception of Ferrothorn, whom is a huge bitch to this set. The third move on the set, Dragon Pulse is a solid alternative to Draco Meteor, doing consistent damage without the drawback. Finally, Ice Beam is used to hit Grass types, including Breloom, the occasional Amoonguss, the very dangerous Venusaur, & especially opposing Ferrothorn, whom is a huge threat to this team if played correctly.

Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spd
Bold Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Softboiled
- Ice Beam

Uh oh, what do we have here, a Pokémon that is versatile in every sense of the word? Yes, that's right folks, you are staring at the beast that is Stallbreaker Mew. Mew does a damn good job at doing it what it needs to do, shutting down stall teams, so my momentum isn't ruined in the slightest. With the current EV spread, Mew is capable of outrunning Jolly Breloom, Adamant Dragonite, and Adamant Gyarados & capable of burning them with Will-O-Wisp, therefore rendering them useless (Not really, but you get my point). Meanwhile, the rest of the EVs along with a Bold Nature allows Mew to take on a variety of Physical attackers, not limited to the 3 that is meant to outrun. Now, as usual, the moveset is up next. The first two moves on the set work off of each other, as Taunt prevents several Pokémon from setting up on Mew, while Will-O-Wisp absolutely cripples them with a godforsaken burn. Softboiled is Mews recovery move, used for when he gets low on health. Finally, I opted to go with Ice Beam in order to hit Dragons, Gliscor, Landorus-T, & obviously, the grass types, especially including Ferrothorn (You can see how paranoid I am about killing Ferrothorn).

EVs: 88 HP / 252 Atk / 168 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Double-Edge
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

Up next on the team is another wallbreaker, this one hitting on the Physical side & using a not so common set. I would like everyone on this forum to meet Choice Band Gyarados, arguably the most powerful user of the item in the game. Gyarados does a damn good job at breaking through Physical walls with it's powerful STAB & coverage moves. The EVs allow Gyarados to outrun Adamant Breloom while still being powerful enough to dish out heavy damage; the remaining EVs are placed in HP to give Gyarados a little bulk. Now, allow me to explain the moveset of this fiery behemoth. The first move on the set, Waterfall is an incredibly high-powered STAB move that gets solid damage on anything that doesn't resist it. The next move on the set is a rather interesting one in Double-Edge, is used to lure in Rotom-W & 2HKO it along with any other bulky Water type that isn't named Jellicent. Up next on the set is Ice Fang, which provides me with solid coverage & allows me to hit Celebi & Breloom, OHKOing the latter. Finally, we have Earthquake, an excellent move to deal damage to Ninetales, Jirachi, Tentacruel, & Toxicroak.

Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- ExtremeSpeed
- Bullet Punch

We have finally come to the end of this RMT, but I will not leave you right now while I'm in the middle of describing the Pokémon that this whole team is built around. Swords Dance Lucario is easily the best late game cleaner in the current meta, & it has given me several sweeps throughout my battles. Maximum Attack & Speed along with a Adamant nature allows him to outrun & KO every threat that he needs to. Now, I shall explain the final moveset. Swords Dance boosts Lucarios attack to a blistering 700, which by this point, nobody will be wanting to take a hit from. Close Combat is the obvious move here, just about 2HKOing everything that doesn't resist it. Extremespeed is an excellent priority move to pick off faster opponents that Luke fails to outspeed, including Scarfed Rotom-W, Scarf Latios, & a whole bunch of other threats that outrun him (A good portion of OU outrun Lucario.) Finally, we have Bullet Punch, which is used to KO Gengar, Scarf Terrakion, & the occasional Scarfed Tyranitar.

put shuca berry on jirachi

ice beam kingdra, such bad move. use hp fire.

cb gyarados is very solid, but you should probably use something different because it sucks.

but still better than your 5 other rmts with your damn no steels and raikou WHICH DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.

you should also use expert belt gyarados over cb gyarados like really have you SEEN the damage you do to ferrothorn. you lure out all of ib's kingdra's counters and you absolutely should be using this spread in order to up your game:

Gyarados @ Expert Belt
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 68 Spd / 188 Atk
Mild Nature
- Fire Blast
- Waterfall
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

hey dr ciel this is a great team although i cant deny that there is a really big latios weakness here, that jirachi set is surprisingly frail, icy wind won't do the trick too well since latios has a decent spdef and just uses surf and shit, lo roost especially bad. i think you may wanna scarf the jirachi, put rocks on mew, and just use an LO Latias. Kingdra is also pretty redundant with Latias and Gyarados for the most part in what it's damaging, I'd potentially consider getting rid of that, maybe for like a rotom-w or something that isn't eaten by jellicent like the rest of the team

Jellicent walls this team extremely hard and I don't know how you can beat it. Your main sweeper and your two wallbreakers are hard walled. You could trick it a Scarf with Latias, but it's really not reliable and certainly not without drawbacks. Jirachi's tbolt do slightly over 50 to pdef Jellicent, but you can't really switch it in and Jellicent doesn't switch into special Jirachi anyway, so that's kind of a lame way to beat it. I recommend using Crunch on Lucario over Bullet Punch since it allows you to beat Jelli at +2, as well as stuff like Trick Room Reuniclus that could sweep your team kind of easily by setting up on Lucario.

Sun teams look like a huge issue for your team as Timid Venusaur outspeeds and OHKOes Latias at +2, and Volcarona sets up on Jirachi, -2 Latias, -2 Kingdra, and Mew and then proceeds to steamroll your team with boosted Fire Blasts and Bug Buzzes. On top of that, Gyarados seems underwhelming without Rain to power up its Waterfall. It won't be able to break Skarmory easily, and then it's pretty bad against Lucario's counters that you'd like to remove. I'd replace it with a Lum DD Dragonite which checks Sun teams and can weaken some of Lucario's checks, like Landorus-T. Dragonite is usually very good on weatherless teams since they struggle against Sun and Rain teams, and Dragonite curbstomps them.

Kingdra looks fairly out of place on this team. Furthermore, it's complete hazard fodder, and your team doesn't exactly like hazards. Speaking of which, Custap Skarm leads could prove to be annoying. A lot on your team is hazard fodder for common Spikers actually. I'd replace Kingdra with an offensive Starmie. Especially if you're using Dragonite, you'll want to get rid of Stealth Rock, and Starmie is very reliable at doing that. Considering your team relies on sweeping with Lucario, being walled by Ferrothorn is more or less of an issue since it's set up fodder for Lucario. If you can get rid of its hazards, it will not be an issue at all.

I'd also swap Latias's and Jirachi's roles. Latias is kind of a meh scarfer since it is very very easy to Pursuit it with either Tyranitar or Scizor. If you lose your scarfer, your team will get swept by Dragonite, Salamence, and other Speed boosting Dragons very very easily. I'd also say that Garchomp will annihilate your team without a Scarfer as it is faster than everything and your only other Ground resist, Gyarados, gets smashed by a +1 Outrage. You'll also notice that your team has no really safe switch in to a Choice Specs Latios. It is faster than everything bar Latias, and does over 50% to everything on your team. The only thing that is not 2HKOed is Jirachi, but since it's a lead, it will take a lot of damage early in the game which will allow Latios to beat it very easily, especially if it has hazards. With a Choice Scarf, Jirachi can at least take advantage of Latios by stealing its momentum with U-turn, or flinch it to death. Also, Choice Scarf Jirachi does much better against Substitute Gengar which kind of dicks your team.

Here are the sets you should use:
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed
- Dragon Dance

Starmie @ Life Orb
Ability: Analytic
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 112 Spd / 144 Atk / 252 HP
Adamant Nature
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 SAtk / 32 HP / 244 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

Good luck!

There's so much that I don't get about this team... it just doesn't seem to fit together in a logical way. There seem to be a load of sets that are thrown in more or less at random; Jirachi for example - what does it even lure in that your team has problems with? Interestingly, for a team with CB Gyara and Kingdra, you've got some pretty big problems with standard rain teams, and you're lacking a solid answer to a lot of the more dangerous pokemon in the tier. Sure, you've got a Scarf Latias which (in theory) checks most of them, but in reality that's never going to work out because you'll just get Pursuited and swept. I also have to say that I don't see a single way in which your team supports the idea of a Lucario sweep (yeah IW Jirachi but lol) but whatever, I'll just treat it as a random cleaner tacked onto a bulky-ish offense team.

First things first, you've got this idea of using two CB/Specs pokemon to break through stuff - that's fine - but I'm really confused about why you've gone with CB Gyara - it just doesn't do very much at all in the kind of metagame we're in now. I mean, have you actually run some calcs for it? Every single half decent OU team has a decent answer for its stabs and its coverage moves are absolutely terrible. If you use a CBNite instead, you'll still have a CB wallbreaker that has coverage in common with Kingdra, but it's much more dangerous in general, matches up a lot better against the metagame, works brilliantly as a sun check, and gives you some strong priority for revenge killing random stuff. Seeing as you'll then have a pretty solid answer to sun teams, you really don't need Scarf Latias. If you go with a LO Latias with DM/Surf/Psyshock/Roost and 112 HP / 144 SpA / 252 Spe then you'll have another dragon powerful enough to fit in with your overall strategy, as well as a better way of checking random water/fire/whatever moves, while still being a solid answer to sun teams.

You're going to want a scarfer to replace Latias, and Jirachi is a pretty logical choice for that. It works much better as a scarfer in this metagame, and using a scarf set means that your only steel (Lucario hardly counts) is actually capable of checking the dragons that you want your steel to be able to check - MixRachi is pretty frail and will often just get killed by the dragons you're trying to check with it. Obviously using ScarfRachi means you're probably going to want to move SR elsewhere; I'd stick it over Taunt on Mew as you really don't need Taunt on this team.

Other stuff: Ice Beam on Kingdra is pointless for reasons other people have already covered, you should be using HP Fire instead so that Ferrothorn can't wall you all day long. I don't really get why you're using Mew here; it's a set that doesn't fit in with the mindset of the team at all and is just going to throw away any momentum that you have but whatever, you're obviously not going to change it. At the very least, use Seismic Toss or Psychic instead of Ice Beam. ST is better in general, but Psychic's OK if you're worried about fighting types. You keep mentioning IB as being coverage for (most importantly) Ferrothorn... have you ever actually used it vs a Ferrothron to see what happens? 0 SpA Mew Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 208 SpD Ferrothorn: 51-60 (14.48 - 17.04%) -- 9HKO at best. The only situation in which you're going to want IB is against a DDNite (seeing as Lum means WoWing isn't that big a deal), but even then Multiscale means that it's pretty unimportant. I'd also probably prefer Agility Lucario on this team but whatever, SD works.

n_n

We all have to rate this ? right ?

I'd stick to Jirachi's changeS.

But, you should consider running Terrakion lead over Mew, with SD/HP Ice in order to compensate for the lack of Ice Punch in Lucario's moveset (to lure and weaken Gliscor/Lando-T).

Set :

Terrakion @ Focus Sash
Justified
252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 SpA
Hasty Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Sword Dance / Hidden Power Ice
- Stealth Rock

Basically, HP Ice is better against Chomp leads.

PS : So Honus = LuringMaster, amrite ?
damn that's nasty :v4:

I'm making this rate without other people's changes in mind because I don't want to take the time to read other rates. There are a lot of Pokemon on your team filling roles that could be filled better by other Pokemon...Gyarados is not very strong without rain, so it's hardly a good wallbreaker, especially with Ferrothorn and so many Water-resistant Pokemon running around. Stallbreaker Mew was a decent set at one point, but right now it does very little. Most stall teams in BW2 run either specially defensive Heatran or some variant of Tyranitar, and many stall teams run both, making Mew a liability rather than an asset. Choice Scarf Latias is weak and doesn't pack the power to revenge kill all the threats you will need to beat, and your team is relatively slow, so if Latias goes down, you're in a hole for the rest of the match. And I haven't even mentioned its weakness to Pursuit.

Definitely go with a Shuca Berry on Jirachi. You aim to set Stealth Rock up every game, and you'll want to be able to beat lead Garchomp. Perhaps use Grass Knot over Thunderbolt on Jirachi, as it hits Tyranitar for a good amount of damage and does more to Jellicent. Ice Beam on Kingdra is very redundant. Ice is such a good attacking type because it has a decent amount of neutral coverage, but more importantly, it hits Dragons super effectively. You're already running Dragon Pulse and Draco Meteor—Ice Beam is not needed at all. Consider dropping it for Hidden Power Fire, as you'll maintain coverage on Grass-types and you'll be able to demolish Ferrothorn.

I would suggest changing your Latias to a Life Orb tank set and then dropping Mew. Mew actually does nothing for your team. In fact, it just loses all your momentum. Opponents will always have a Pokemon to switch into Will-O-Wisp so you have no offensive pressure, and the only utility you'll get out of Mew is predicting your opponent's reaction to Mew so you can pull off a double switch. That's not a safe way to play at all. Life Orb tank Latias covers up rain and sun (though you admittedly have rain covered up pretty well) and it has a lot of offensive pressure, as powered up Draco Meteor will do some big damage to offensive teams. Now you'll need a Choice Scarf user to replace Latias, and this position stumped me for a while. Jirachi would be ideal, but I want to preserve your lead Jirachi since you seem fairly attached to it. Choice Scarf Terrakion could fit here, as it hits most setup sweepers for super effective damage and has good overall neutral coverage, as well as decent synergy with your team. Try him out.

Gyarados is pretty pointless outside of rain, as Waterfall is pretty weak, and that's your main STAB move. I'd just use the natural choice here...Dragonite seems like a much better fit for your team anyways, and Choice Band Outrage will hurt a lot more than Waterfall ever did. By the way, if entry hazards ever wear you down (you have no way of preventing them, really), you could try using Life Orb Starmie in Kingdra's place. It helps Dragonite / Gyarados a lot, and brings just as much offensive pressure as Kingdra did. While it doesn't threaten rain as much, you have Life Orb Latias. Starmie is preference though, and if you really want Kingdra, by all means keep it.

Weatherless offense is hard to pull off if you're not using a standard build, but I think with these changes your team will be even more competitive. Try them out if you have time before you quit, and I'm sure you'll find your team to be less restricting and easier to play with. Good luck, I hope I helped.
