[SET COMMENTS]
Scizor's high attack stat alongsides its usable defenses and great typing allow it blanket check a large part of the metagame by living a hit and either KOing them back directly such as Rillaboom, Choice Band Urshifu, and Sawk; or putting them in range of the follow up Bullet Punch such as Porygon-Z and Life Orb Zeraora. Dual Wingbeat is Scizor's strongest move to use against neutral targets as thanks to the Technician boost it is essentially a 120 BP move without the drawbacks of moves such as Superpower. Dual Wingbeat allows Scizor to easily cleave through Grass- and Fighting- types such as Rillaboom, both Urshifus, and Sawk while also cleanly 2HKOing Pokemon such as Primarina, and SD Haxorus. The double hit nature of the move also allows Scizor to beat Sawk as the first hit breaks Sturdy. In addition, it can break Substitutes from Pokemon such as Dragapult and Whimsicott to win those matchups. Bullet Punch is used generally to pick off weakened foes, but is useful to KO frail attackers such as Galarian Darmanitan, although it is a roll against bulky Galarian Darmanitan. It also the strongest move to use against Fairy types weak to Steel such as Sylveon and Aromatisse. Superpower is useful super effective coverage against Steel types and Normal types such as Magnezone, Snorlax, and non-Charm Chansey. Swords Dance is used as the last move to boost its Attack against stall threats primarily Galarian corsola, while also allowing Scizor to avoid attacking into a counter from Pokemon like Snorlax or Chansey. 248 HP and 116 SpDef investment allows Scizor to live a 252 Choice Specs Hyper Beam from Porygon-Z while 16 Def lets Scizor live a 252 Choice Band Wicked Blow from Urshifu-S. The 132 Atk with an Adamant nature allows Scizor to always KO 0 bulk Urshifu with Dual Wingbeat.
Scizor is overall quite straightforward to use however there are a couple matchups that may be counterintuitive. For example, against Porygon-Z it is better to Dual Wingbeat Turn 1 instead of using Superpower as against Chople variants of Porygon-Z, the attack drop from Superpower will cause the follow up Bullet Punch to be a roll to kill. In addition, against Snorlax it is better to use Swords Dance Turn 1 as only Heat Crash variants of Snorlax can OHKO Scizor, and Swords Dance ensures that even Chople Counter Snorlax sets lose to Scizor. Scizor struggles against Fire types and Fire type coverage so it struggles against Specs Sylveon, Rotom-Heat, and Darmanitan. Therefore Scizor appreciates Water types such as Rotom-Wash to shore up these matchups, while Scizor handles Grass type threats such as Rillaboom and Celebi that threaten Scizor's teamates. Scizor can also struggle against certain physically bulky Pokemon that it can't hit super effectively such as Crustle, Dracovish, and Aegislash. Therefore, Primarina serves as an exceptional teammate as not only does it beat aforementioned Fire-types, it also is able to handle Crustle, Dracovish and Aegislash, as well as beating Bulk Up Urshifu forms that Scizor struggles with. In return, Scizor provides winning matchups against Snorlax, most Kyurem sets, and Magnezone which Primarina has a hard time breaking through.
