Only Lokix things

Hi,
I'm quite new to competitive pokemon and especially building my own teams, and this is my first team I've built for SV UU. I wanted to build a team around abusing the raw power Choice Band Lokix possesses after seeing it carve through teams in OU.
Lokix @ Choice Band
Ability: Tinted Lens
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- First Impression
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Leech Life
As long as hazards are off the field, this mon destroys mostly everything on the field. It is a great revenge killer and because of the bulky nature of the rest of the team it has plenty of opportunities to come in during matches. It can also clean up late-game with Knock or Leech Life or with pivoting. Single-handedly can break any fat teams given enough time and a powerful U-turn can keep momentum while still making progress. It also does great into HO, as it kills almost all sweepers with Tera Bug First Impression, so as long as you can get one mon ahead, the game is usually as good as done. It struggles sometimes getting in with pivoting balance teams and hazard stacks if there is too much pressure to remove hazards.
Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 208 HP / 132 SpD / 168 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Bleakwind Storm
- Knock Off
- Heat Wave
Incredible and versatile pokemon. It is fast, bulky enough with pivot+regenerator and decent damage on top of that. It is one of the many options on the team to take a hit and pivot after Lokix has gotten a strong hit in. Tera type is not locked in, but it can sometimes allow absorbing T-waves or electric attacks that would otherwise threaten it. Set and mon is bog standard, tried and true.
Cobalion @ Leftovers
Ability: Justified
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
- Stealth Rock
Another UU staple with a pivot move, good speed and utility in T-wave and SR. It is also the second physical attacker on the team that can help Lokix break through while providing support. If you want to lean on Lokix even more, you could run a bulkier set. Tera Fairy is for the teams fire weakness while also being a great defensive typing. Once again, not really much to say about, it is a top tier UU mon that runs a very regular set, but slots well with the first two mons.
Hydrapple (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 116 HP / 252 SpA / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Fickle Beam
- Leaf Storm
- Earth Power
This worm gets surprisingly many KO's while still taking a lot of hits. This set is one I am still experimenting with, as I find I rarely click Nasty Plot and the immediate power of Draco Meteor is tempting. The Fickle Beam is much more spammable and can break through walls easier, which I find quite enticing. Regenerator brings quite a bit of longevity to the mon, allowing it to come in more often than you would think. Tera Fairy allows you to switch the matchup on Latios and other Hydrapples, although it is quite easy to predict.
Mandibuzz @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Overcoat
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 108 SpD / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Roost
- Foul Play
- Defog
- Toxic
The tier does not have many bulky mons with hazard removal, making this my preferred choice. Another option could be Donphan, Forretress or Tentacruel, but they lack recovery which I find very useful in keeping hazards off the field. Mandibuzz also gets Toxic, which helps against the many sweepers running around. The moveset just feels like it fits this team great. Tera type is once again a general defensive typing, but I very rarely find myself clicking Tera on this mon.
Slowking (F) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Scald
- Chilly Reception
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave
Slowking glues the team together, providing a much needed fire resistance. It provides incredible utility with its weather countering pivot and hazard spreading with Scald and T-wave. I like running Slack Off over Future Sight for the increased walling ability and longevity, as Slowbro's typing means it usually has to take a lot of hits during the match, and I feel like this team has not needed the added pressure Future Sight would bring, nor does it like the loss of momentum it sometimes has, as I would usually just like to bring Lokix or another threat onto the field instead of using a turn for FS. The tera type gets rid of the dark weakness and makes the mon generally harder to take out.
Thanks for reading! I do not feel my rating is enough to provide adequate replays to showcase the team's potential, and I think some refinement and feedback for the team is still needed :) Tera-types are not set in stone and I think most of them can be changed quite easily.
