Draft Lokix

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 6 onwards

**Price Range**: 6-8 points

**Overview**: Lokix is a cheap pivot that can provide offensive momentum for its team. With access to strong priority moves coupled with a great offensive ability, it can also function as a wallbreaker, denting foes so that its teammates can clean up. Lokix can also function as a revenge killer due to great priority attacks it has that can KO a weakened foe. However, it provides basically no defensive profile or utility to its team, so its teammates should look to pick up the slack there.

[strategy comments]
Common Roles
========
**Offensive Pivot**: With strong priority in Sucker Punch and First Impression and STAB-boosted U-turn, Lokix can become a solid offensive pivot that is capable of denting foes and providing strong momentum for its team. On top of that, it has access to STAB-boosted Knock Off, meaning it can hit hard and remove foes' items while fulfilling this role.

**Wallbreaker**: Lokix is a potent wallbreaker, using its access to strong STAB moves combined with Tinted Lens to dent even bulky Pokemon that resist its attacks. Swords Dance allows it to boost to even further heights.

**Revenge Killer**: Lokix has access to Tinted Lens-boosted First Impression, making it a premier revenge killer. This coupled with access to Sucker Punch means that it can deal with most dented foes.

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: Knock Off, First Impression, Leech Life, Sucker Punch, Lunge, U-turn, Throat Chop

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Trailblaze

**Utility Moves**: Substitute, Taunt, Brick Break

**Coverage**: Axe Kick, Low Kick

Niche Moves
========
**Agility**: Agility can be used on Lokix in combination with Swords Dance to make it a threatening sweeper. Furthermore, its STAB moves in combination with Tinted Lens means it can occasionally run Agility without Swords Dance without giving up its pivoting capabilities.

Common Items
========
**Heavy-Duty Boots**: Lokix's weakness to Stealth Rock coupled with the fact that it wants to come in a lot means that Heavy-Duty Boots are often imperative.

**Damage-boosting Items**: Damage-boosting items can further enhance Lokix's wallbreaking potential, with Silver Powder being the most common.

**Choice Band**: Choice Band forgoes Lokix's ability to switch moves to create obscenely strong priority attacks that can OHKO common threats.

Niche Items
========
**Protective Pads**: If Lokix runs into a team that can easily slot Rocky Helmet or has abilities to punish contact moves, Protective Pads can ensure more longevity than Heavy-Duty Boots.

**Lum Berry**: Lum Berry can be run on Swords Dance sets, especially when foes has minimal entry hazards, as a way to circumvent burn or paralysis once, opening up more opportunities for a sweep.

**Choice Scarf**: Choice Scarf can boost Lokix's middling Speed to turn it into an even faster offensive pivot. This is only used when entry hazards are not a concern, as it does mean taking damage from Stealth Rock.

Tera
========
Lokix is a okay choice as a Tera Captain, as it can be coupled with high-tier Tera Captains as a secondary option. It can benefit from Tera Bug and Dark to boost its already strong STAB attacks to even further heights. Defensive Tera types such as Tera Steel, Water, and Fairy can be used to free up an item slot by mitigating Lokix's weakness to Stealth Rock, allowing it to pivot in more freely, or letting it set up a Swords Dance to start wallbreaking. Tera Fighting allows it to boost its only type of coverage it normally has.

Draft Strategy
========
Lokix is commonly used as an offensive pivot that can also weaken walls. As such, it is often paired with sweepers that benefit from its ability to dent defensive checks. It does not provide any defensive profile for its team, so it should be paired with teammates that can shore up that weakness.

**Late-game Cleaners**: Lokix's ability to dent defensive checks can be very beneficial for cleaners, allowing them to fulfill their role a lot better. Options such as Iron Valiant, Urshifu-S, and Sneasler all appreciate an opposing team that has been softened up by Lokix.

**Entry Hazard Control**: Lokix wants to come in a lot, so Heavy-Duty Boots are often required. However, if its teammates have strong entry hazard control, it can free up other items Great Tusk, Iron Treads, and Corviknight are all great options to keep its side hazard-free.

**Entry Hazard Setters**: Supporting Lokix with entry hazards allows its already-strong attacks to start threatening 2HKOs or even OHKOs after entry hazard chip. Glimmora, Great Tusk, and Hisuian Samurott are all great entry hazard setters that can help Lokix.

**Defensive Teammates**: Since Lokix provides basically zero defensive support to its team, other teammates should provide that. If they have pivoting capabilities, it would be even better, as they can bring it in safely. Rotom-W, Galarian Slowking, and Corviknight all provide solid defensive profiles coupled with the ability to pivot.

Checks and Counters
========
**Protect / Substitute**: As Lokix is very priority-reliant, with protect you Protect can negate First Impression and scout sets. Furthermore, it helps negate a bit of momentum from U-turn. Substitute lets foes circumvent Sucker Punch and protect themselves from being revenge killed by priority.

**Faster Pokemon**: Lokix is not exactly bulky, and its typing does not grant it a favorable defensive profile. As such, most faster Pokemon such as Cinderace, Tornadus-T, and Iron Moth can OHKO it so long as they can survive a Sucker Punch.

**Bulky Pokemon with Recovery**: Lokix mostly tries to dent foes rather than outright OHKO them. As such, Bulky foes with recovery can undo the work it had been doing. Alomomola, Clefable, and Dondozo all take minimal damage from it and can recover any chip away.

**Contact Punishment**: Lokix primarily uses contact moves so Rocky Helmet, Rough Skin, Static, and Flame Body can all severely hamper what it wants to do.

**Status**: Lokix gets greatly hampered by both burn and paralysis; while burn means it can still provide momentum for its team, it suddenly doesn't hit hard, and paralysis takes away its use as an offensive pivot.

[overview]
**Draft Order**: Round 5 onwards

**Price Range**: 6-8

**Overview**: Lokix is a cheap wall breaker pivot that can provide offensive momentum for its team. With access to strong priority moves coupled with a great offensive ability Lokix can also function as a wallbreaker, denting foes for its teammates to clean up. This section needs to be expanded upon, you should go into more detail about its different roles it can play on a team as well as its weaknesses. Another strengths sentence then a weaknesses sentence should make this overview solid.

Common Roles
========
**Wallbreaker**: Lokix is a potent wall breaker, using its access to strong STAB-attacks combined with Tinted Lens to dent even strong resists. Swords Dance allows Lokix to boost to even further heights its attack to break even tougher walls.

**Revenge Killer**: Lokix has access to Tinted Lens boosted First Impression making it a premier Revenge Killer. This coupled with access to another strong priority move in Sucker Punch means that Lokix can deal with most dented foes.

**Offensive Pivot**: With strong priority that only works the first turn Lokix is in in both First Impression and Sucker Punch, and STAB U-turn, Lokix can become a solid offensive pivot capable of denting foes and providing strong momentum for its team. Would move this to top of common roles, probably its best role

Common Moves
========
**Primary STAB Moves**: First Impression, Leech Life, Sucker Punch, Knock Off, Lunge, U-Turn, Throat Chop

**Setup Moves**: Swords Dance, Agility, Trailblaze

**Utility Moves**: Substitute, Taunt move to niche, Brick Break

Niche Moves

**Maybe Agility (Leaving that for QC)

**Defensive Pivots**: As a frail mon it doent want to take hits, can be brought in safely by slower pivots and can also switch into them

Checks and Counters
========
**Protect / Substitute**: Protect can help against Lokix as Lokix is very priority-reliant, with protect you can negate First Impression and scout sets. **Contact Punishment**: Lokix makes a lot of contact with its moves, therefore, Rocky Helmet, Rough Skin, Static, and Flame Body can all severely hamper what Lokix wants to do.

Don't think Lokix is bulky enough to take advantage of this. You're also forgoing boots to do so and you're weak to rocks, so it's especially risky.
