but deep down, we all know it actually brings me joy that ppl put use ketchup because you know good taste is a matter of experiencing fine things, and fine things are actually fine precisely because they are not common, so good taste could hardly stand out if it was widely possessed.

what other condiment can you find that covers so many bases? ketchup is flavor! why do you think there’s only Heinz ketchup and its knockoffs on your grocery store shelves? because Heinz perfected it. there are artisanal ketchups here and there, but you don’t see them at your Walmart. honey, dijon, French’s, Grey Poupon? all mustards, all good, all with their own unique flavor and use. ketchup? nah. it’s one recipe to rule them all.
