Looking at blanks

Hello!

I recently had to redownload Shoddy after my shortcut stopped working.

I just tried starting a battle, but when I select Moves or Switch, there is nothing there. Only the chat works.

I want to get back into pokemon badly. Please tell me what is happening.

I am using a mac if this helps.


EDIT: I found the thread to fix this. Delete this crap thread please.
 
I followed the steps with the Java preferences. There are two options. One is the bugged one, and the other renders Shoddy unlaunchable. I ran a software update, which had the latest version of Java. I ran this update, but it does not show up in the Java preferences. What do I do next?
 
Please allow me to reiterate.

I go to Java Preferences. I have two options. Java 5.0 (the one that causes the moves bug), and Java 1.4.2 (the one that fails to launch Shoddy in the first place). I have no other options in this menu, despite running the software update for 1.6.

The thread you keep pointing out has not helped me. Either it does not cover the problem, or I am not computer savvy enough to know what I might be doing wrong.

Sorry for being a nuisance :/
