Looking to improve - First Start

Hello everyone.

I have played the game for a long time (since the simple days of RBY) but have never gone competitive. finally at X and Y the urge is too great. This is however my first competitive team so any feed back would be helpful and sorry if I don't win any points for originality. Just trying to get something a bit easier up and running to get used to things. Ok so here is the team.

TYRANITAR @ Expert Belt
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252HP / 252Atk / 4Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Spa)
-Stealth Rock
-Stone Edge
-Crunch
-Ice Fang

One of my favorites since its introduction (Its a pseudo legendary T-Rex whats not to love?) Tyranitar actually fills a lot of roles for my team. Not only does it get the rocks up but its impressive defenses in the sand allow it too check quite a few things including the brave bird spam of Talonflame, Also helps with opposing weather and getting Zard out of the sun. Crunch and Stone Edge are great Stab attacks, Ice Fang is for Dragons and Grass switch ins. Put Expert Belt on him for more power and also because I didn't know what else to go for in all honesty.

BISHARP @ Life Orb
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 252Atk / 4Def / 252Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Spa)
-Swords Dance
-Pursuit
-Iron Head
-Sucker Punch

Another favorite of mine, I'm glad Bisharp has finally got his place in the game as he is just so cool. The prevalence of sticky web and defog have allowed him to come in and boost his already sky high attack right of the bat and threaten a lot of the game. Swords dance is there for if I think I can get another boost up, Pursuit for trapping the likes of the lati twins, Ghosts not carrying focus blast and other weakened pokemon. Iron Head is reliable stab and the flinch chance/ ability to nail faeries is nice, sucker punch makes up for is mediocre speed. I would run knock off but its an in game team and I cant transfer.

BLASTOISE @ Blastoisinite
Trait: Mega Launcher
EVs: 252HP / 252Spa / 4SpD
Modest Nature (+Spa, -Atk)
-Aura Sphere
-Dark Pulse
-Rapid Spin
-Water Pulse

In my opinion this guy is the most under rated Mega going right now. He is brilliant and time and time again he has come through for me when it looks like I've thrown the match by doing something silly, people don't realize how hard he hits. Water is a great typing and allows Blastoise to do his job with minimum fuss. No Ghost type wants to switch in to a predicted boosted dark pulse and this allows Blastoise to clear opposing hazards out the way while still packing offensive punch. Rapid Spin and Dark Pulse are mandatory and I went with Water Pulse for the stab and chance of confusion to potentially force a few switches. Aura sphere completes the coverage as found more use for it then Ice Beam.

THUNDURUS @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 4Def / 252Spa / 252Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
-Thunderbolt
-Thunder Wave
-Taunt
-Focus Blast

I know the nature isn't ideal but trying to get the perfect nature off the GTS would leave me having nightmares and waiting a long time. This guy is usually the MVP of my team. All of the above pokes don't have speed on their side and paralysis support from this guy goes a long way in evening the playing field. Thunderbolt is great stab and threatens a lot of pokes while Taunt is always useful to carry on at least one team member to stop set ups. I run focus miss as the last move as my hidden power isn't useful and it provides some nice coverage against steel types and grounds.

GARCHOMP @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4HP / 252Atk / 252Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -Spa)
-Dragon Claw
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

I don't know who had the idea to cross a Dragon with a shark... whoever they are they have created the most manly awesome over powered creature in the game. Functioning as my late game cleaner, Garchomp brings an awful lot to the table with powerful moves and the force and speed to make them hurt. He also has great dual stab and an important immunity to electric to help out Blastoise. Outrage is the main move here alongside earthquake to tear holes in anything, Dragon Claw is for when being locked in to Outrage isn't advisable and lastly Stone Edge round off his coverage hitting fliers especially zard-y for a lot of damage.

togekiss_by_roy_flowers-d3awgee.jpg

TOGEKISS @ Life Orb
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 4HP / 252Spa / 252Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
-Dazzling Gleam
-Nasty Plot
-Aura Sphere
-Air Slash

Realizing I was developing a huge weakness to fighting, Togekiss seemed the obvious fit to the team. Being immune to two types and having a 4x resistance to a third, in theory he should have plenty of switch ins for the set up and can then cause havoc. Sadly he isn't living up to this theory as much as I would like. He just doesn't hit hard enough and is often forced out himself after setting up due to a weakness to electric that cant be checked by Thundurus support and the wide spread of stone edge users. Bullet punch Scizor being around a lot isn't helping either. He is the most replaceable member of the team but I cant find something that hits hard on the special side to replace him with yet. Any Ideas?

So that's the team. I'm doing ok with it thus far and its working quite well. Any feedback from you guys though would be great. One note though I am gaming on my 3ds and only have x and y so please take this in to account with your recommendations. Things such as transfer moves are very hard for me to get, same goes for certain pokes. I'm very aware Keldeo and Deoxys are good but getting a hold of them is easier said then done.

Thanks if you took the time to read and comment!

Hi :)
Right away I can see two things: Offensive Team and weak to fighting.
You bring up Togekiss. Togekiss should definately be replaced. Your set doesn't make sense on this team, and it's not suited to be on this team. I suggest Clefable over Togekiss. It loses the Electric weakness and the Rock weakness and the Ice weakness that your team hates. After a boost, it hits hard and OHKOs all the Fighting types such as Terrakion and Keldeo. You can also use Fire Blast to roast Steel switchins. Softboiled lets you stay healthy in case they keep bringing in their Fighting type.
If you don't know what to put on TTar, Focus Sash should be used so you an always get early rocks . Plus it can also deal heavy damage to threats they think have an easy kill.
Finally, Knock Off should be used over either SD or Pursuit. Knock Off is Bisharp's strongest initial attack and removes the foe's item. Plus you don't want to rely on Pursuit for reliable Dark STAB unless it's for trapping.
Other than that good team Metal-lord :)
EDIT: Also if possible, get Ice Punch on TTar. There's a website called Pokemon Showdown where you can build and test teams if you want.

Why do you have Ice Fang on T-tar when it can learn Ice Punch? Replace it for Ice Punch unless I'm missing something.

Thanks for the input guys.

Reason I run Ice fang over Ice Punch is because I believe Ice punch is a transfer move and I only have x and y. have managed to get ahold of a knock off paniward though so new breeding chain can begin to fix that.

Never considered Clefable, will breed for one and slot it in and see if it pulls its weight. Should work out better then Togekiss.
