[OVERVIEW]
Mega Lopunny gains a Fighting typing, the ability Scrappy, and a unique niche in the Doubles OU metagame. While most Mega Evolutions are designed to be powerful offensive threats, Mega Lopunny takes on a more supportive role. It uses its high Speed to disrupt its foes with Fake Out and Encore while its partner sets up or attacks. Mega Lopunny not only has the fastest Fake Out in the metagame but is also unique in being able to hit Ghost-types thanks to Scrappy, meaning it can stop Pokemon such as Jellicent and Chandelure from setting up Trick Room. Its high Attack and unresisted STAB combination thanks to Scrappy make it very threatening as well. However, Mega Lopunny has pretty bad bulk due to its low defenses and bad defensive typing, and it receives competition from Mega Kangaskhan as a Fake Out user with considerable power. Unless your team is specifically in need of a fast Encoreuser or has a particular weakness to Ghost-types, Mega Kangaskhan is probably a better fit.

Moves
========

The combination of Fake Out and Scrappy immobilizes an opposing Pokemon for a turn, including Ghost-types, and allows Lopunny to freely get its Speed boost upon Mega Evolving. Return is a powerful, reliable STAB attack that does big damage. Low Kick also does big damage against threats like Tyranitar and Heatran, but it is generally unreliable due to its low damage output against lightweight foes. High Jump Kick can be used instead, as it does much more damage than Low Kick, but it has devastating recoil upon missing or mispredicting the target using Protect, which is very prevalent in the metagame. Encore can lock foes into a status move, such as Substitute or Protect, making them useless. Protect allows Lopunny to scout and stall out opposing conditions such as rain, Trick Room, and Tailwind, as well as stay safe while its partner takes care of one of its threats.

Set Details
========

Lopunnite is required in order for Lopunny to Mega Evolve. Limber is its most useful pre-Mega Evolution ability, as it allows Lopunny to switch into Thunder Waves. Maximum Speed EVs and a Jolly nature let Mega Lopunny Speed tie with Mega Manectric and outspeed Shaymin-S and Mega Gengar. An Adamant nature could be run instead for extra power, but then Mega Lopunny loses out on outspeeding the above targets. It does, however, still outspeed 115 base Speed Pokemon such as Terrakion and Thundurus. Maximum Attack allows it to hit as hard as possible.

Usage Tips
========

Lopunny works best as a lead so that it can support its teammates with Fake Out and get the Speed boost from Mega Evolving as soon as possible. Lopunny also works well as a revenge killer. Fake Out is usually the best move to use on turn one, as it allows Lopunny to Mega Evolve safely and gives Lopunny's partner a free turn. If a foe uses Protect to dodge Fake Out, Encore them into it. Finally, because Mega Lopunny doesn't have good defenses, try not to switch it into any attacks.

Team Options
========

Because Fake Out and Encore can be used to buy free turns, setup sweepers such as Belly Drum Azumarill pair well with Mega Lopunny. As the single biggest threat to Mega Lopunny is priority, Pokemon that can threaten common priority users are helpful teammates. For Talonflame you might consider Tyranitar and Rotom-W, while for Breloom you might consider Shaymin-S or a Talonflame of your own. Mega Lopunny tends to fit best on very offensive teams and relieves a lot of pressure on teammates by outspeeding and threatening many of the fastest Pokemon in the metagame, such as Darkrai, Weavile, Shaymin-S, and Mega Gengar. Because of this, a slower, powerful partner such as Sylveon also fits well as a teammate, as outspeeding threats becomes less necessary for Mega Lopunny's teammates. Lastly, Defiant and Competitive users such as Bisharp and Milotic can fend off Landorus-T, which, by virtue of Intimidate, is a natural threat to Lopunny. Bisharp in particular also resists Flying, is immune to Psychic, and beats opposing Fairies, all of which threaten Mega Lopunny, though it compounds the Fighting weakness.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
========

Ice Punch can be used to deal big damage to Landorus-T and to OHKO Shaymin-S, but it's typically not worth carrying, because Lopunny has better options to run, and it's better to have Ice-type coverage provided by another teammate. Drain Punch is another option for a reliable Fighting-type STAB move, but is generally too weak. Power-Up Punch is an option to run alongside redirection to sweep thanks to Mega Lopunny's unresisted coverage, but this strategy is easily stopped and checked. Facade is an option toto prevent Lopunny from being crippled by paralysis and burns, but has considerably less damage output than Return.

Checks and Counters
===========

**Intimidate and Burns**: Common Intimidate users, such as Landorus-T and Gyarados, lower Mega Lopunny's Attack and are not 2HKOed by any of its STAB moves. Bulky Will-O-Wisp users such as Rotom-W can also eat up an attack from Mega Lopunny and retaliate with a burn.

**Speed**: Deoxys-A can outspeed and OHKO Mega Lopunny with Psycho Boost, and Talonflame can knock it out with a +1 priority Brave Bird.

**Strong Attackers**: Mega Lopunny does not have the best bulk, so anything that can take a hit from it and retaliate with a strong neutral or super effective attack can cripple it.

**Typing Advantage**: Landorus-T is a reliable check because it can switch into all of Mega Lopunny's attacks, barring Ice Punch, and KO it with Superpower. Pokemon like Jirachi, Togekiss, Amoonguss, and Rotom-W can also switch into any of Mega Lopunny's attacks and threaten it with status. Fairy-types such as Mega Mawile can also almost always guarantee an OHKO on Lopunny.

**Speed Control**: A big selling point of Mega Lopunny is its Speed, so Thunder Wave and Trick Room severely decrease its effectiveness.

Done, some of these things were mentioned in other sections of the analysis, so they weren't reiterated.

When you mention being able to use Fake Out on ghosts in the overview, also mention Scrappy give its STABs un-resisted coverage.

Looks fine to me.

Not quite haha this overview is not a helpful one.

stratos's guide:
I'm tired of writing this separately for every goddamn analysis so I'm going to make a thread, stop shitting up your overviews. This is what they should contain:

  • What does the Pokemon beat? Notable individual Pokemon, groups, or whole playstyles (eg Abomasnow is a cold stop to rain, heatran is a good switchin on opposing steel and grass types, diancie's powerful dual STAB ohkoes basically every fast Pokemon in the tier). Avoid just restating the type chart or I WILL DICK YOU
  • What general role the Pokemon takes / What teams it fits best on (eg Amoonguss temporarily incapacitates faster Pokemon by spamming Spore and Rage Powder, so it fits well on bulky teams that often find themselves being outsped)
  • What threatens this Pokemon? Notable individual Pokemon, groups, or whole playstyles (eg heatran can't put in much work vs rain except to beat their steel if it gets lucky, and also suffers from lando-t being so common, or that most teams run a bulky fire to deal with steel types and they all stop Scizor cold)
  • An HONEST estimation of its worth, don't write about greninja like it's lando-t unless you want me to hunt you down and rip off your testicles

Things NOT to put in the overviews

  • Anything you could find out by looking at the dex, i mean jesus christ nobody here is retarded, i was going to make a list of them but like seriously just don't

Fair enough, still abit off with overviews.

  • Remove the things about its stats / anything that can be seen by looking at the dex outside of it outspeeding things mentioned in the next point
  • Combination of faster Fake Out and Low kick, plus a resist to Sucker Punch makes Lopunny a Normal type able to beat Kangaskhan most of the time, Terrakion, Heatran and Bisharp, and is able to disrupt these Pokemon further through access to both Fake Out, to cause Protects, and Encore, to Punish them. Fits on teams that like these common physical powerhouses removed / threatened, as well as with pokemon that appreciate the free turns bought by Encore, such as Azumarill
  • It faces competition from more than just Kang. I think it should be stressed that there is probably a better use of your mega slot, but the fast Fake Out / Encore and Scrappy is its selling point over other things
  • Also maybe mention that although Scrappy allows it to hit Aegislash, it still fears Kings Shield

Something that should be mentioned is that Lopunny really doesn't play in the same manner as a "traditional" Mega. Rather than breaking stuff in a ridiculous fashion, ts role is more of a supportive one; a blindingly fast Fake Out and Encore (not that unresisted dual STAB hurts either!) and the ability to quickly remove most Dark-types from the game.

Hey guys, it been a while, and I really want to get this analysis out the door

Do you want me to include all these points in the Overview? A lot of them seem better fit for Team Options and Usage Tips.

Besides the Overview, everything else should be good to go.

Hey sorry kinda forgot about this, yeah include all the points I made in the overview because it is explaining Lops role and what its advantages over similar mons. Also mention what Arctic said and I'll check it again and give it the last stamp.

Hi I made some edits of my own and am calling this 3/3. May still tweak a bit more before upload, but for now just sending it to GP.

Unless your team is specifically in need of a fast Encore user or has a particular weakness to Ghost-types, Mega Kangaskhan is probably a better fit.

Moves
========

The combination of Fake Out and Scrappy immobilizes an opposing Pokemon for a turn, including Ghost-types, and allows Lopunny to freely get its Speed boost upon Mega Evolving. Return is a powerful, reliable STAB attack that does big damage. Low Kick also does big damage against threats like Tyranitar and Heatran, but it is in generally unreliable due to its low damage output against lightweight foes.

Set Details

Usage Tips
========

Lopunny works best as a lead so that it can support its teammates with Fake Out and get the Mega Evolution Speed boost from Mega Evolving as soon as possible. Lopunny also works well as a revenge killer. Fake Out overall is usually the best move to use on turn one, as it allows Lopunny to Mega Evolve safely and gives its Lopunny's partner a free turn (its not really a free turn when there's another pokemon that can attack it). If your opponent a foe uses Protect to dodge Fake Out damage, Encore them into it. Finally, because Mega Lopunny doesn't have good defenses, try not to switch it into any attacks.

Team Options
========

Because of this, a slower, powerful nuke such as Sylveon also fits well as a teammate, as outspeeding threats becomes less necessary for Mega Lopunny's teammates. Lastly, Defiant and Competitive users like such as Bisharp and Milotic can fend off Landorus-T, which, (AC) by virtue of Intimidate, (AC) is a natural threat to Lopunny thanks to its Intimidate. Bisharp in particular also resists Flying, is immune to Psychic, and beats opposing Fairies, all of which threaten Mega Lopunny, though it compounds the Fighting weakness.

Other Options
========

Facade is an option to to prevent Lopunny from being not be crippled by paralysis and burns, but has considerably less damage output than Return.

Checks and Counters
===========

**Strong Attackers**: Mega Lopunny does not have the best uninvested bulk, so anything that can take a hit from it and retaliate with a strong neutral or super effective attack can cripple it.

**Typing Advantage**: Landorus-T is a reliable check because it can switch into all of Mega Lopunny's attacks, (AC) barring Ice Punch, (AC) and KO it with Superpower, making it a reliable check.
