Hey, guys. I built this team about a week ago, and I've been testing it out on Shoddy. It's done fairly well so far, current record of 3-1. Anyways, I would like to have it rated by a few "experts," just to see what the opinion is on it.
At a glance:
Azelf @ Focus Sash
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Explosion
- Fire Blast
- Psychic
- Stealth Rock
Standard Azelf lead. Set up Stealth Rock early. Explosion can be used for a suicide lead, if the opposing Pokemon permits (i.e. not Aerodactyl), and it's one reason the Naive nature has been chosen as opposed to, say, Timid. Fire Blast allows for some sheer power and handles a few anti-leads (Weavile especially comes to mind), while Psychic takes up a STAB slot.
Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Extremespeed
- Swords Dance
Here's the focus of the team. Lucario is simply a beast with Life Orb and a Swords Dance or two under his belt. After his counters have been destroyed by the rest of the team, he can proceed to sweep without much trouble. Close Combat for STAB, Crunch for Psychics and Ghosts, Extremespeed for general power.
Salamence (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 80 HP/176 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Blast
- Outrage
MixMence and Lucario go well together. They cover each other's weaknesses quite well. I honestly haven't had to use him much in my tests. He's taken out a few opponents, but not really enough to merit his presence. I'm thinking about switching him out for another Pokemon, particularly a Spinner. My main attraction is to Tentacruel right now, since he has Spin and Tspikes. Any other suggestions?
Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dragon Pulse
- Recover
- Roar
- Thunder Wave
Spreads Paralysis and serves as a Phazer. Thunder Wave whatever's out, Roar it away, rinse and repeat (assuming a Pursuit user doesn't come out to play). It also serves as a fantastic Special Wall, and can also break Infernape's sweep with a 2HKO Dragon Pulse. Recover heals off any damage she might take so that she can keep on truckin'. Wish could replace Recover to make it more of a Supporter than it currently is, and I'll definitely consider it as I do more testing.
Heatran (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Earth Power
- Explosion
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Ice]
Special sweeper for the team. I chose Flamethrower over Fire Blast just because I'm an accuracy nazi when it comes to sweepers, and Flamethrower, with STAB and Heatran's massive Sp.Atk, is plenty powerful enough to take down multiple threats. Earth Power and HP Ice are fairly standard, and Explosion allows for suicide if it's necessary. Choice Scarf isn't on this set just because I feel like Heatran's weaknesses are numerous enough, and even more so if he's locked to a single move.
Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- U-turn
A secondary physical sweeper and the Pursuit user of the team. Bring it in and reveal that you have Pursuit on a doomed Pokemon, and they're powerless to do anything to save it. Superpower for some general destruction, Bullet Punch for speed. U-turn for switching out and dealing some heavy damage in the process.
