Ludicolo often sees use as a deadly late-game wincon that uses Rain Dance to boost its Hydro Pumps and outspeed the entire metagame with Swift Swim. Ice Beam nails opposing Grass- and Dragon-types such as Exeggutor, Appletun, and Altaria that resist Ludicolo's dual STAB combination. Life Orb increases Ludicolo's damage output while still letting it switch moves; it also works well in tandem with Giga Drain's HP recovery. 29 HP IVs help minimalize Life Orb recoil, while a Modest nature ameliorates Ludicolo's somewhat underwhelming Special Attack.

Skuntank's Corrosive Gas and Sawk's Knock Off help Ludicolo tremendously by permanently crippling its most commonplace checks, such as Articuno and Clefairy. A physically defensive wall such as Palossand provides Ludicolo a switch-in to threatening priority move users that may try to capitalize on its below-average Defense, such as Gurdurr and Swords Dance Galarian Rapidash. Other strong special attackers such as Choice Specs Rotom can force special walls into taking a hit, weakening them for Ludicolo to clean up later. Rain Dance is easier to set up with pivots like Alolan Persian, Silvally-Poison, and Morpeko bringing Ludicolo in against passive foes.

Ludicolo can utilize an Assault Vest to lure in walls such as Articuno, Golbat, Clefairy, and Type: Null and cripple them with Knock Off, as well as soft checking special attackers such as Ninetales, Defog Rotom, and Choice Specs Poliwrath. Weather Ball has nearly the same power as Hydro Pump and has 100% accuracy; however, completely lacking Water-type coverage before setting up rain is a huge downside.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Some Pokemon such as Articuno and Type: Null can stomach a rain-boosted Hydro Pump and fire back with a super effective move like Freeze-Dry or U-turn.

**Super Effective Attacks**: Ludicolo's subpar defenses and base Speed leave it exposed to super effective attacks from foes such as Accelgor, Silvally-Flying, and Skuntank when rain is not active. Setting up Rain Dance is difficult against walls with super effective coverage like Altaria and Tangela, with Life Orb recoil being a huge factor as well.

**Priority Moves**: Priority move users such as Thwackey, Flapple, and Gurdurr can revenge kill a weakened Ludicolo, with the former two forcing Ludicolo to use Ice Beam—and take Life Orb recoil without Giga Drain healing—if they do not cleanly take it out. Kangaskhan not only has the fearsome Fake Out + Sucker Punch combination but can strategically be used to waste Ludicolo's remaining turns of rain.

**Shedinja**: Shedinja is immune to all of rain sweeper Ludicolo's attacks. Using Protect, it can even scout for Knock Off from Assault Vest variants of Ludicolo on non-rain teams.

Ludicolo often sees use as a deadly late-game win-con that uses Rain Dance to boost the power of its Hydro Pumps and outspeed the entire metagame with Swift Swim. Ludicolo can also be utilized on rain teams, punishing would-be switch-ins to its boosted Hydro Pumps with its other two attacks. rain teams don't exist Life Orb increases Ludicolo’s damage output while still being able to switch moves; it also works well in tandem with Giga Drain’s HP recovery, making Life Orb’s recoil oftentimes feel nonexistent. A Modest nature also ameliorates Ludicolo somewhat underwhelming Special Attack. Ice Beam?

Sawk's Knock Off and Skuntank's Corrosive Gas help Ludicolo tremendously by permanently crippling its most commonplace checks by removing items from Pokemon such as Articuno and Clefairy swap both as sawk koffs clef and skuntank gases cuno. Pairing Ludicolo with a physically defensive wall such as Musharna bad example, not only is Musharna a niche mon but it also hates rain due to weakening its recovery provides it with a switch-in to threatening priority move users that may try to capitalize on Ludicolo's below-average Defense such as Gurdurr and Kangaskhan. On full rain teams, Ludicolo works well with other Swift Swim users like Qwilfish and Kabutops to break through the opposing team’s defensive structures. Dedicated rain setters are also mandatory for any rain team; Uxie and Liepard are great selections due to the former’s raw bulk, the latter’s ability Prankster, and both of their access to Knock Off. Full Rain teams don't exist. Mention other special attackers that force damages on special walls so ludicolo can clean.

i'd like you to mention pokemon that threaten ludicolo when it's not under rain.
