[SET COMMENTS]

Lunatone has the rare rock/psychic typing, something that only its partner, Solrock can take claim to. This typing gives Lunatone some key resistances, such as Fire and Normal. Levitate also gives Lunatone a useful immunity to ground, which also allows it to dodge Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Lunatone's niche in PU is to be a stealth rock lead that is meant to defeat as much as possible before going down. However, that unique typing it has is also its weakness, making it weak to common moves such as Scald and Knock Off, also leaving it vulnerable to priority such as Sucker Punch, making it harder for Lunatone to do anything. It also has a lot of good coverage and support moves at its disposal, but it requires lots of team support to be effective, as Lunatone doesnt have that good of an attacking stat, even with Life Orb.
Stealth Rock is the main point of this set, punishing the enemy for switching too much, and just generally being useful. Psychic is Lunatone's strongest special STAB move, hitting Poison and Fighting types such as Roselia and Throh for decent damage. Psyshock is an alternative option that allows for Lunatone to easily kill special walls. Ice Beam allows it to beat up Grass and Ground types, such as Thwackey and Stunfisk. Power Gem is Lunatone's main Rock STAB move, allowing it to nail Fire, Bug, Flying, and Ice types for major damage, such as Heatmor, Silvally-Bug, Vepsiquen, and Silvally-Ice super effectively. Earth power cleans up Steel Types such as Mawile and Pawniard, who either are immune to and/or resist both STABs of Lunatone.
Maximum Special Attack with a Modest nature and a Life Orb allows Lunatone to OHKO Pawniard with Earth Power, while still naturally outspeeding . Maximum Speed with a Timid Nature allows Lunatone to outspeed everything up to Drilbur with a speed increasing nature.

Lunatone can form a hazard stacking core with Pokemon such as Vepsiquen and Pinchurchin, doing serious damage to the enemy, allowing your team to have an easier time sweeping. Vepsiquen in particular is also a great defensive pokemon, tanking most Physical attacks easily. Pokemon that appreciate entry hazard support, such as Mr Rime, are useful, because they can capitalize off of the chip damage and sweep easier. Pokemon that can check Dark types, such as Mawile and Hitmontop are useful because they can easily stop Lunatone in its tracks.
Lunatone is very prone to being worn down, so Healing Wish support from the likes of Musharna are appreciated, as they can allow a weakened Lunatone a second chance to sweep.

hey, please put this back into wip. currently the analysis is very flawed and not accurate at all either, while also being very barebones, with the only worthwhile information being very basic and fluff.

Lunatone's niche in PU is to be a late game Rock Polish sweeper that allows it to outspeed common threats such as Pawniard and Mawile

this is an example. you don't even need rock polish to beat both of these examples, and you also fail to explain this set's niche and explain important details. why should i consider running timid over modest? in this case, it's to outspeed choice scarf manectric at +2 and jolly pawniard.

qc also thinks this should be the only set getting an analysis. next time if you aren't sure, please feel free to ask any qc member what sets should be on the analysis. please take a look at this guide, and let me (or any other qc member) know if you have any questions or if you need some guidance!

how do i make bold text for the title
you don't; the other threads' titles are only bolded because they're either new threads or there's a new message you haven't checked yet.

Stealth Rock is the crux of this set
