Genre - Glam Metal

Dr.Feelgood was the fifth studio album by the band Mötley Crüe and was released on September 1, 1989.

T.N.T. (Terror 'N Tinseltown) -Not really a song but an introduction that has a cool effect setting up the next track.

Dr.Feelgood - Now we arrive at the first actual song on the album and it so happens to be the title track. This track is a classic by Mötley Crüe and it starts with what sounds like a crash. Now we move into the main riff of this song which sounds addicting. If the riff wasn't enough we have a cool harmonic solo here. The lyrics talk about a drug dealer a.k.a. Dr.Feelgood. After a couple of verses and choruses we have some bluesy shredding by Mick. The final verse changes into the chorus, and now the song ends with a background solo. 9/10

Slice of Your Pie - ASexual base song that opens with some acoustic guitar playing. Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is featured on this song doing some of his famous signature screams throughout. The acoustic playing ends leading into the verse, which is powered by electric playing. Tommy's drumming gives this song a strong sexual feel. After a while the music lightens and there is a solo that begins from there. Nearing the end of the song the music changes to a relaxing mood and fades out from there. 7/10

Rattlesnake Shake -
The title of this song just sounds catchy does it not? Rattlesnake Shake opens with some intro guitar playing which leads into a short solo before the main riff begins this song. This song is pretty upbeat. During the chorus some horns can be heard in the background. From here the drums and bass pick up, and there is a short ten second guitar solo into the chorus. As the song starts to end you can hear horns and a piano playing. Rattlesnake Shake has an old school rock mood with a Glam Metal touch up to it. 8/10

Kickstart my Heart -
Cool drug song right here's boys and gals. This song was written by Nikki Sixx after he overdose and was pronounced dead. They shot artificial adrenalin into his heart, which revived him. The chorus riff for this song is pretty fast paced. Midway through the song their is bridge with singing by Vince Neil about kicking ass. After the chorus has been sung again their is a pretty impressive solo which uses a talkbox by Mick Mars. Through the talkbox you can hear Mick saying "Kickstart my Heart.". 8.5/10

Without You -
The next track is one of the ballads of the album. Although this song is slow paced it is strong musically. This song starts to feel repetitive after a while but just wait. There is a cool solo in the after the bridge. The song goes on for a while longer and then it fades out. 7.5/10

Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.) -
This song is one of the best on the album if not the best on the album. The intro to this song is pretty good and the song itself is rather upbeat. S.O.S. has a catchy chorus and cool backing vocals. There is even a good solo here by Mick. This is a simple song with a sex feel to it. 9/10

Sticky Sweet -
From here the album kinda starts to go a bit downhill, suffering from the first half is better than second half syndrome. This song really does not have anything memorable and sounds rather repetitive. 3.5/10

She Goes Down -
Well... this song has a rather "unique" intro. She Goes Down is a rather heavy song but it is powered by a bubble gum feel. The vocals go great with the music here. Another solo is present here too. This song can be described as mountain however. For the first to minutes you're going up and then it sort of just falls a bit fall though. This is better than what was before however. 4.5/10

Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) -
Ah here we go a song that is memorable. Don't Go Away Mad has a light feeling to it but it is pretty good. Half way through the song it speeds up, then it slows down again, then it picks up again finishing the song. 7/10

Time for Change -
The ending song is strong vocally, just hear the chorus. Pretty simple song that is soothing. After the final chorus of this song the solo ends the song. 5/10

Overall -
I've never really given Mötley Crüe a listen until now. This album is actual pretty good. If you're looking to get into them this album is a listen for sure. This album sometimes makes you want to skip some songs however no mater if you're a fan of it or not.
