ORAS OU M-Altaria based team

Hello everyone. I was far for a long time from any pokemon game or simulator. Now i'll return with a new team to build.

altaria-mega.gif

Altaria-Mega (F) @ Altarianite
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 248 HP / 136 Def / 96 SpD / 28 Spe
Impish Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Return
- Heal Bell

The star of the team with a bulk set. She's perfect in the lategame sweeping, because it's bulk + DD and a boosted Return can destroy all when her counter are dead. Heal Bell for the fools that think to stop she with a status condition effect.

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Belly Drum
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

I was searching for an hard hitter, i've found Azumarill. It's a classic set, BD + AJ is the pain for all who not resist to Water. I've put KO > Spower for pressing the opponent on the switch. Can defeate strong pokemon like ZardX with no difficult, even defensive wall like Slowbro will die against its boost.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 232 HP / 4 SpA / 244 SpD / 28 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Ancient Power
- Stealth Rock
- Will-O-Wisp

I need a setter and a pokemon with decent SpD to support the team, for this Heatran is perfect due to his types. I choose Ancient Power over other move to kill Flying pokemon like ZardY (beacuse Heatran can take a Focus Blast without being killed), Talonflame and Volcarona. Will-O-Wisp for burn huge threat like Landorus, Azumarill on the switch, or to decrease the power of pokemon like Bisharp.

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpD / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Recover
- Reflect Type
- Rapid Spin

I don't totally need a spinner on this team, the only pokemon who suffer x2 damage from rocks is Altaria before evolving, but I need to switch many times in battle, so i choose for Starmie. His set is amazing, Reflect type is a very usefull move that allows to counter pokemons like Bisharp or ZardY. It can also stall M-Venusaur and defeat him by PP stall. Recover allows him to survive very long in battle. He's even a status absorber due to his ability.

Gothitelle @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Trick
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Shadow Ball

With Altaria i need a trapper for steel and other types, Gothitelle does this work very well. He can trap Cmind Clefable, CroCune ecc. and lock they with Trick. I put Shadow Ball for Latwins and Slowbro. The best threath trapped by him are M-Venusaur and Amoonguss. I'm thinking about switch Choice Scarf with Choice Specs.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 220 HP / 252 SpD / 36 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Nasty Plot
- Giga Drain
- Recover

In the first build he was the setter, but when i've introduced Heatran in the team, Celebi lost is task. I'm not totally certain that he's the best pokemon I can put like six member of the team. I've put Nasty Plot > SR to do a crazy amount of damage. Giga Drain to recover HP and do damage, Earth Power to hit hard switching Heatran. He, like Starmie, is a status absorber, so not totally useless.

________________________________________________________________________________________

Big threats for this team are:
1) Manectric:
Due to his crazy speed and large movepool, he can destroy my team when Heatran was defeated and Altaris hard damaged.
2) Weavile:
If has Low Kick, when Azumarill was defeated, he destroy me.
3) Kyurem-Black:
Can easily kill al my pokemons with is large movepool.

Hey there, nice n solid team, but some suggestions can make it even better.

As you mentioned, kyurem does break your team, you can try to use Ferrothorn which can check Manectric, Weavile and Kyurem Black,

Earthquake > Heal Bell on Altaria, you should use that. You should play with it with these changes and see it there is any difference. Good luck!

Hey man cool team! I think I have a few suggestions to improve it a little. Biggest thing would be to change celebi to ferrothorn. You said it yourself celebi does not really fit on the team since heatran appears to be taking it's role. Ferrothorn gives you a nice answer to the aforementioned threat in kyurem-b(watch hp fire) and another decent response to weavile although the low kick set still hurts. With rapid spin you are given the luxury to run spikes support which ferrothorn also provides your team to aid in belly jet azu or altaria cleaning after the hazards have taken their toll on the opposition.

Next I would change the gothitelle set to 80hp/176spatk/252spd+ and adding calm mind and rest to the set. If you want to trap these fatter mons that threaten altaria I would recommend this set. The combination on trick and rest allows you to set up on a multitude of fat mons allowing you an easy +6. This set alone will improve your matchup against fatter teams as you can pick and choose what specific mons you want removed from the game. The only mon that you cannot trap for altaria is scizor due to it's bug stab and generally strong attacks but you have heatran for that so I don't think it's too much of an issue.

Some small changes would be changing the azumarill spread to 92hp/252atk+/164spd. The speed allows you to out speed uninvested base 70's such as skarm while giving you a fair amount of bulk and maximizing your damage output. Something else you can try is stone edge> ancient power on heatran. Ancient power does not do nearly as much to spdef talon or zard-y as stone edge does. If you don't mind the accuracy I would make this change since not OHKOing zard-y and getting bopped by a focus blast isn't too fun and getting hard walled by spdef talon isn't too fun either.

I'l leave my suggestions in the tab below. Hope I helped n_n

I agree with all our friends here: ferrothron for celebi. On the other hand i still pref ancient power over stone edge becouse of accuracy.

In plus i have a little advice: Frustration > Return for Ditto.
