Hello I've used this team for about a week since the ladder reset and it's done me well reaching bout 1292 in that time. I'm just wondering what you all think. It's super weak to sticky web, and also really hates stally pokemon. Without further ado here's the team.
Donphan (M) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
This is primarily my means of hazard control, as well as a form of priority to take out strong focus sash users such as Breloom. 84 speed investment allows me to be able to outspeed neutral base 60's and slower such as Azumarill, Conkeldurr, and non scarfed Magnezone's.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 68 SpD / 188 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
Dragonite is my main physical sweeper, when no entry hazards are up and it can safely switch in It makes a great mid game sweep. However it struggles with the likes of Ferrothorn and Pokemon who unexpectedly carry ice type coverage after another poke takes away the multiscale. The given speed evs allow it to out speed base 115 speed pokemon and either ko or take it down to its sash after one boost. The special defense evs allow me to switch into almost all scalds (and risk the burn), and take as little damage form special attacks as possible.
Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Trick
Chandelure is a switch in for when Ferrothorn is threatened by a fire type attack, it also provides good coverage against a lot of threats such as Lati@s, Gengar, and a multitude of other threats. Trick is also very important for dealing with pokemon that can't use a scarf such as Chansey, Clefable, Klefki, and Skarmory.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 88 Def / 168 SpD
Impish Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Leech Seed
- Power Whip
- Protect
This is my main wall, it walls almost all physical pokemon that don't carry super effective coverage, as well as a lot of special attackers that lack neutral coverage. A lot of people question why I don't run Stealth Rocks or Spikes on my Ferrothorn set and I simply just feel that the 25% chance to make my opponent helpless is more useful, it also aids Togekiss in her serene grace stalling, and finally it's also why I run Power Whip over Gyro Ball. His game plan is mostly to outdefend. He is very weak against grass types.
Manectric-Mega (M) @ Manectite
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 32 Def / 252 SpA / 224 Spe
Modest Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [Ice]
This is my mega evolution, it's powerful enough to beat most of the pokemon I would bring it in against. Mine is modest with 224 speed ev's again to outspeed the 115 speed tier, M-Manectric beats every pokemon in the 115 speed tier (bar raikou) 1 on 1. I run Over Heat instead of Flamethrower because he needs the power, and even at -2 SpA Volt Switch still works as a great way to escape. the 32 defense evs add to M-Manectric's pseudo bulk (with Intimidate). It's worth mentioning you can bait out electric type attacks from Togekiss and get the Lightning Rod boost but predicting wrong can be costly.
Togekiss (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunder Wave
- Air Slash
- Roost
A basic physically defensive kiss set you generally want to get off the thunder wave and then go for the Air Slash shenanigans. If you read a switch then you can set up a nasty plot and hit them harder. It's all fairly self explanatory but that's really all I have for this Togekiss, to be honest this slot has changed the most, and I'm still not set on it.
Please leave any suggestions or critiques below and happy laddering.
